A partial crown fell out a couple days before I saw Dr. Grubek. I came in to have it re-inlaid(is that a word?). This is an annoying process in itself, to say the least. However, with Dr. Grubek’s down-to-earth, humorous, attentive personality, it was the best dental appointment I’ve ever had! First, I was 5 minutes late, but didn’t get an attitude from anyone! The staff member that was there, Kathryn, is super nice! Usually, I get the stank eye when I’m late. In the chair, Dr. Grubek introduced himself, and mentioned my husband(who has been coming in for work), which I appreciate, b/c it makes the visit more personal. We(Dr. Grubek, Kathryn, and I) also chit-chatted a bit before getting into the nitty gritty. When the dental work started, and I was numbed with the topical, Dr. Grubek held the swab on my gum for at least 90 seconds! I’m used to dentists simply rubbing the area briefly and going straight in with the needle. I. HATE. NEEDLES. But when Dr. Grubek stuck me, he used that shaking technique where he injected me with one had and gently pinched and shook my cheek with the other. No other dentist has done this for me, even after confessing my fear of needles. I also got a general cleaning while I was there, and he talked me through the bleeding and assured me it was OK, as I bled more than usual b/c I’m 5 months pregnant. On my way out, the three of us chatted a little more, and it was really nice getting to know them. The office is clean, home-y, and in a convenient location. Between this, their customer service, and Dr. Grubek’s dental techniques/knowledge, I don’t see myself going anywhere else ever again!
