Rico’s Masonry

Saw the bad review when looking up Rico’s for a second quote. so I thought I’d add a balancing opinion. I called them a few years ago to rebuild our Chicago bungalow’s brick steps and to do some routine tuckpointing, and had no issues whatsoever. They came to my attention via referral, and gave a competitive quote, scheduled the job quickly, and completed the work to my satisfaction. I only gave them four stars instead of five because our restoration work was not that demanding, and I know there are masons who do Historical Register grade work. Bottom line is that I’m calling them today for another job I need done.
*Update: Called Rico’s right after posting this review, and they’ll be here to do my job tomorrow. Totally friendly and helpful. Can’t beat that.

Rico’s does not want your business– And not only will they act that way, they will tell you so. I recently requested an estimate for a sizable residential masonry project– over $ 50K. The estimate was very vague. I called and asked for an estimate with more specifics that were pointed out in other estimates, and Rico’s refused. I was flabbergated– They would not clarify their estimate? They would not answer specific customer concerns? It was a padded open-​ended estimate, and they did not want to be held accountable. Clearly, they did not obtain our business– A trustworthy company has our business now.
