Worst black bean burger ever. The patty was kind of cold and tasted very bland. The bun was too thick and over powered the patty. All in all, this was inexcusable for a meal. I was too hungry so actually finished it. It would have gone in the trash otherwise.

Staff is very nice. I eat here at least twice a week as I work in the building. Breakfast sandwiches and bagels are generally tasty. Gumbo is excellent. Tuna sub is pretty good as are the chicken fingers. I do not like the pizza or the hamburger. The specials are hit or miss. If you order food after 1 pm, it sometimes since like it has sat too long, especially the fries. In fact, the fries usually seem mushy here; I prefer bagged potato chips. The smoothies are good but cost $ 2 more than they should.

I’m a fan; I work in the building and grab lunch here on busy days. The prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly and efficient. I’m hooked on their soups(especially verde and spicy African chicken), and the cashiers always remember how I like my order(tortillas in the verde, one package of crackers with anything else). The salads and smoothies are delicious, too, and I love that they sell a variety of San Pellegrinos.

This place is very convenience if you work in the building and want to grab something quick for lunch at a reasonable price. One of my gripes about this place though are the portion sizes. They are way to big!!! I’m not a huge fan of leftovers, but you just about have to at this place. Even there breakfast burritos are a ridiculous size. I pretty much stay away from the pastas here, but my favorite is actually an item they only have sometimes… the black bean burger. Delicious! You also can’t go wrong with the spicy Latin soup or the fries. Most other items though can be quite bland.

I eat here often – less than once a week but if I forget my lunch in the fridge then I definitely stop here. The prices are fair, and quality of food is good. Their omelets are huge, the breakfast sandwiches are bulky, and the BLT sandwich is very filling. Their smoothies can easily make a day though – made with fat free frozen yogurt and no added oils or other nonsense a lot of places tend to put in. I typically go with the peach melba or the banana blast, but I’ve tried them all and have never been disappointed. The smoothies are very filling as well so if you’re health-conscious then that’ll be the route to go.

My first time going there. I stopped by because I noticed a line. I tried the black bean burger on the special menu, and it was tasty. Now, the fries were so soggy, drenched in oil. I will never get those again. Pretty fast service, so I may go again.

I’ve eaten at Rivers before and had a good experience. So, I decided to give Rivers To-Go a shot this week for lunch. The Good: The menu is pretty vast for a quick lunch place so I ended up going with the BLT sandwich with a side of chips. The Bad: I was disappointed to find out the chips were a bag of original Lays. There were no other options available. I assumed these might be home made chips but no… Regular Lays potato chips… My BLT was prepared relatively quickly. When I returned to my desk I found a very sad looking sandwich… The BLT was made with three regular slices of wheat bread, three pieces of bacon, a squirt of mayo, and lettuce and tomato. A 12 year old could have made a more appetizing looking sandwich. The only good thing about this sandwich is that the bacon was pretty decent. Otherwise, it wasn’t worth the $ 8 dollars. Probably won’t return. There are plenty of better options nearby.

What does«Rivers to Go» have going for it? Not much. It’s convenient as it’s in my building, but the food is very average. So on a rainy, snowy, or blistery cold day, Rivers To Go starts to look pretty go. Look elsewhere under any other conditions.

For people who work in the building, this provides a great convenient and quick lunch. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here, though. The quality of the food is decent, but some items are overpriced. But you can’t beat the service speed — they have great turnaround!

I’d like to know what kind of people are reviewing this place. 4 and 5 stars? I got food today and the tomato was moldy. Every time I go to rivers, I vow never to go again. But then I get busy at work and need a quick lunch, so I go to Rivers to go. And then I am reminded, yet again, why it sucks. Everything they serve is bland. I’ve had the blackened chicken wrap, the penne pasta, the portebello wrap, the turkey wrap, the froyo, the smoothies, and the salads. Each one, I would never order again. For some reason though, this place is always crowded. We all need to come together and boycott Rivers To Go, at least until they start serving food without mold on it. Only plus side to this place is the staff, they are all very friendly.

When S asked if we could go to Rivers to Go so he could re-live having the best oatmeal ever, I gave him a judgmental look that said scathingly: we travel all the way to Chicago from Philadelphia and you want some boiled oats? So when we made it to Rivers to Go, and we found out that breakfast had ended 20 minutes ago… I was afraid S might cry. But then the nice woman behind the counter recognized him as an old regular and said that she could scrape a little bit of oatmeal from the bottom of the pot, which she gave to us for free. It was creamy without being heavy and nicely flavored with the brown sugar. If those were the dregs of the oatmeal, I would be very excited for a freshly made pot!

One of the best places for quick, but not chain food in the LOOP. I work in this building and when I’m sick of my company’s cafeteria I heard down here when I’m not craving the chains(Chipotle, Roti, Protein Bar). I don’t really take lunch breaks, so the best I can do is run somewhere to bring food back. It’s a treat to have good food, fast. And to have daily specials gives it a nice variety, and all at a pretty standard lunch in the loop around $ 7 – 8 price! Their pasta specials are great in the winter, soups amazing, their burritos are something different– a nice change from the typical Chipotle Burrito. Their breakfast is what I like the most. Tasty egg sandwiches and french toast.

This place continues to impress me. I’m working in the building this summer, and have had the chance to stop down here a few times. The breakfast sandwiches, if you want to take a break from health-conscious eating, are perfect. Great omelettes, yogurt smoothies are good, and the french toast is out of this world. All at a good price.

For what it is, a to go counter, this place is awesome. The staff is super friendly and the food is good… a little too good. I can’t stop eating the breakfast sandwiches(ham, egg and cheese on an english muffin). Their breakfast burritos(potato, egg, chorizo) are also a little bit of amazing. And their jalapeño cheddar bagels make me actually look forward to coming to work in the morning. I’m really glad I work so close.

i’m new to the building and have been impressed with rivers to go so far. good lattes at a decent price and everyone that works there(both counters) is very very friendly and helpful. can someone fill me in on what’s so fantastic about their oatmeal? i see TONS of people buying it and i’m trying to figure out what’s in it! the colder it gets the fewer trips i make out for lunch, so i’m glad to have this option.

I haven’t been to River’s in awhile as I’ve gotten a little lazy and don’t feel like the«walk-across-the-street» hike anymore. When I used to come here I would get either an omelet or their oatmeal for breakfast. However, last week, while passing by from stopping at the bank I stopped here and ordered a spicy chicken burrito. Boy was I upset with myself for having worked at my job for over 2 years and never ordering one of these! It was THEBEST chicken burrito I can honestly say I have ever had! It has the rice and beans wrapped in it and the flavor is unbelievable. I can’t wait until the next«hell with the calorie counting today!» day so I can have another! Delicioso!

This is one of my regular lunch stops. The prices are really good($ 5.00 for a hot sub), the food I order is always perfect, and the staff is always courteous, friendly, and prompt. If you are looking for takeout, stop by.

Granted some of the items are a bit hit or miss. I definitely wouldn’t get a burrito here again(then again, I’m probably an idiot for getting one from here in the first place). But the service is excellent and the majority of the food is delicious. I am in love with the corn chowder soup and it comes with three generous slices of bread that is crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy deliciousness on the inside. It’s a lunch option, and for the most part, a tasty one.

If last night’s happy hour was a little too happy, head straight to Rivers To Go in the Mercantile Exchange and kick start your day with the best hangover sandwich ever. But plan on eating that greasy, cheesy ball of goodness back at your desk because Rivers To Go doesn’t have any seating. For lunch, they have great soups and salads, but the sandwiches and entrees are just mediocre.
