I find Dr. Bowser to be experienced and helpful, but his staff is very disorganized. Dr. Bowser seems overworked, and during our appointment he left the room repeatedly to deal with other patients. In the interim, he often forgot major aspects of our conversation(and my symptoms). He also was very distracted by their computer system, also a strike against laptops in the exam room. With the impending universal automation of health records, a simple keystroke can alter your entire medical history. Your medical record can be emailed and mashed up with other providers, as well as your insurance company. It’s like a credit report, and your personal health conditions –even if recorded inaccurately– can affect the potential health coverage you are eligible for in the future. I would never in a million trust him or his staff with this responsibility. Over the course of two days, I’ve watched his staff make several mistakes, whether it be making appointments incorrectly, making patients wait while the receptionist gabs on the phone, failure to wash hands, or calling in the wrong prescriptions. I’d recommend doing your homework, and looking for other options.

Family Medicine Doctor. The best in Chicago. Also treats Fibromyalgia and maps for Guaifenisen Protocol(which DOES work wonders, by the way Fibros!) Anyway, he is organized with a super bed-side manner, and spends a ton of time with you and actually listens! He works with his patients to find the best treatments and if not for a couple mean office workers, this is the Doc to have. So don’t let your first impression upon calling the office turn you off. This Doc is a keeper. He is known for his caring treatment of Fibromyalgia patients by his peers, a hard thing to find as even new graduates of med school still are taught that it is a waste-basket diagnosis.
