Roosevelt Branch Library

I rarely use the public library. With this being said, I was unfamilar with the computer timing out 30 mins before close. I specifically came to print one document, which, did not go to the printer. After two times trying to release the print job, I went to log back into a computer. By this time the computers were locked due to «closing time». Now (after login is not available) two staff members ask if they can help me. I explained that and I need to print one document but somehow it did not go through. Both ladies, who saw me struggling, at the print desk told me it was not possible. How about you its called customer service & you assist guests no matter what!!! Rudest employees ever.
On the other hand, the branch on blue islnd had extremely helpful workers as well as security. I was about to print my document is less than one minute.

The least of my favorite library. The children librarians on 2^nd floor are super friendly and nice but the staff on 1^st or Main floor,… errrr, not. Not very helpful and sometimes have attitudes. Money hungry, too. I missed our favorite library (in Hegewisch) where staff are much friendlier (back in 2005). Though this is a neighborhood library, I avoid going there and go to other libraries.
One time, I called and they told me they would hold my key that I left behind. When I came to pick it up, it was thrown away even though they received a call froma patron claiming it, a specific notification who it belong to. Sure, I know they assume no responsibilities for lost items but you’d think they’d be caring enough to hold it for a regular visitor. Still regular? No way.

I love this library!
When I didn’t have the internet at home, I came here just about every day and was always pleased. Even though it is a smaller branch, it is very well maintained and the computers were almost always open. I really liked the kid’s section, which is separate from the rest of the library on the second floor.
The staff is very nice and helpful. There is one woman in particular who helps people on the computers and she seems so patient and friendly!
