Rosin Eyecare

Awful. If you only need basic corrrection they are probably okay. Anything complicated forget it. Going on visit number 4 and they can’t figure it out. I will never come back to here.

I don’t know why I didn’t go here. I figured it was because I was cheap and couldn’t afford the exam here. I used to have insurance and now I don’t so I decided to go to America’s Best — WOW that was the worst idea ever. I ended up paying almost as much to go to America’s Best as I did to go to Rosin and the service was 100x worse.
Rosin has always been my eye care place. There’s a location in Downers Grove that my family has gone to for at least the last 15 years. I prefer that location because the staff is nicer and everyone knows everyone else, but this location in the city isn’t that bad.
I like the service at Rosin, first and foremost. The doctors are knowledgeable and the exams are thorough and complete. I felt like America’s Best looked at my eyes for five minutes and made a crazy rash decision. I’ve spent at least 30 minutes in each of my Rosin exams and that makes me feel a lot better about the quality of my care. Rosin includes glaucoma screenings as part of exams and America’s Best only offers it as an add-​on that you have to pay for! Insane. The routine exam at Rosin also includes a thorough screening of the eyes for any health issues, which was not a part of my exam at AB. Gross.
They also include contacts and eyeglasses in the same exam (after you have received your first pair of contacts) so you don’t have to pay for one more expensive contact/​glasses exam. I like that they’re both just included. My only gripe is that the prices of their glasses are usually outrageous. You might be able to find something that is cheap and on sale (once I bought a pair of glasses for $ 80 total because the frames were sooo cheap). Their contact prices are also a little high, but they always give you your prescription (they have to!) so you can just order from 1800 contacts.
So, I’ve learned my lesson: I’ll be going back to Rosin from now on because I really just can’t stand chain eye exam stores. The quality of the service at Rosin is first rate and it really doesn’t get any better than this.
