Wow. I mean WOW. I was at the Unilocal Around the World party last night and there was chocolate everywhere. My sweet tooth was almost kaput when I walked by the RR Chocolats booth.
I would not be being dramatic if I said THIS IS THE BEST CHOCOLATE I HAVE EVER HAD. IN MY LIFE. SERIOUSLY.
Chocolate with basil? Yum.
They seem to have a lot of locations to purchase their chocolate and you can also buy it online. Buy some. It will change your chocolate life.

So Vosges and I have been in a SERIOUS relationship for about a year now… I mean, in the beginning I had done my fair amount of slutting around – shoving any chocolate sample within 50 miles into my mouth at warp-​speed, only to feel guilty and unfulfilled seconds later. But once we moved in together (in the city of Chicago), it was pretty much a done deal. I introduced Vosges to my family, and my mother never wanted to meet (or eat) anything else.
So I think I’m finally ready for my first long-​term commitment, and Vosges & I are tying the knot. «If there is any reason these two should not be wed…» and I have no second thoughts, I think my chocolate-​surfing years are over and I’m content in one-​brand-​bliss… When BARGING through the door comes RANDY R. of RR Chocolats «Basil?! Why no Randy I haven’t tried dark chocolate and basil even though they are two of my most favorite things ever, though granted surprising in one bite… OOOH! Damn! That IS good… but I’m kind of in the middle of something here… what? coconut & chocolate? Eh usually too cloyingly sweet for my tastes. Whaaaa? spicy curry? I don’t taste — Yeow! Oooh! Awww sookie sookie now!» & just like that, I’m single again. & loving it. Touché Randy, touché. & thanks to Colleen & Andrea for fixing us up. gotta love Unilocal!Around the World
If the rest of RR’s chocolates are as good as the ones I sampled at Unilocal Around the World, I am in serious trouble.
We were given a sampling of the basil/​dark chocolate (OMG YUM) and the mango/​chocolate (also delicious but after the basil, probably didn’t get the appreciation it deserved) and the coconut curry — which went from sweet to firey hot in your mouth. The lovely young men doing the presentation knew their stuff.
I can’t wait for the next seasonal collection to arrive — got my eye on the pumpkin and four spice!
