Salon Visage and Day Spa

I received a recommendation from a friend to visit Jackson with my two young boys (2.5 years and 11 months). I am beyond glad we found him! Jackson is so nice and friendly and warmly welcomed us into the salon. My 11 month old went first and I sat with him in the chair. He did well for the most part, but when he started to fuss, Jackson was understanding and took a second to let me find something to help calm him down.
My 2.5 year old went next and this is where I was worried. He’s had several haircuts before elsewhere, and every time has kicked, screamed and cried the entire time to the point I want to let his hair grow forever. I came prepared with snacks and an iPad, but Jackson’s calm, cool, non judgmental demeanor helped my guy big time. There was even enough time for him to give me a quick bang trim. A very big THANK YOU Jackson! We will be back!

Brent is a hair genius! He took my dull, over processed hair, and revived it with one amazing cut and awesome treatment. I have never had a stylist discuss «goals for my hair» with me. He listened to everything that was bothering me and addressed all of my concerns. I have lived in Chicago for 10 years, and I had yet to find anyone I went to more than once. His prices are extremely reasonable. I trust him completely, and I look forward to many more appointments to come!

Just left the salon, and I have to say, I’ve found a gem of a salon and stylist (finally!) Brënt Kleckner was exceptional. He was very knowledgable, shared all his tips and secrets, listened to my wants and needs, and shared his honest opinions. He made sure the whole way through that I was comfortable (even filled up my wine glass for me!). Truly an great stylist and guy in general. Someone tell me, why aren’t ALL stylists this great? The atmosphere was very relaxed and there was none of that awkward salon nonsense (you all know what I’m talking about). He treats you like a friend from the very beginning and even gives hugs upon leaving. He’s truly a breath of fresh air — very refreshing to find him and this salon! My hair looks amazing and feels like new! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Note: goes over pricing with you at the end to make sure you know exactly what you’re paying for! because nothing’s worse than going up to the counter and just giving them your card in fear of the total. GENIUS!

It’s difficult moving to a new city and having to go through that arduous process of finding a new stylist. I tried 3 before I fell into the very capable hands of Jackson! Every haircut I’ve received has been top-​notch, leaving me looking my best. He’s absolutely hilarious and enjoyable to talk to throughout the appointment. Jackson also takes the time to be sure you know how to style your hair on your own, and he will recommend great products to use at home. You won’t find the quality that Jackson provides at a reasonable price anywhere else in Chicago. Whether you’re new to town, or a native, make Jackson your go-​to guy.

Wow!!! I recently moved into buck town and went around checking out a few places with my friend. But never in a million years did we think we would find such a catch! The prices are great and service is wonderful! Krystyna is my absolute favorite waxer, facial person in the world! She is so sweet and easy to talk to. Jackson is meticulous and a perfectionist. His haircuts and color is consistent and he always does exactly what I want. Jackson isn’t afraid to try something new and he’s constantly trying to perfect his craft. I’ve been seeing Jackson for a couple of years now and not only do I have an amazing stylist, I also have a great friend. I can not recommend Jackson enough. You will be so glad you went to see him!

I went into this salon because it had been some time since I had my hair done. I was not disappointed at all!
My stylist Jackson took great care of me, making sure I had everything I needed. The consultation was relaxed but maintained a high sense of professionalism, which made me confident I was going to get a great cut/​style.

I decided to cut my hair short and went to Jackson for the first time. 6 — 8 inches cut off and I love it! Sounds like he can do some fun and edgy looks but he gave me a simple and classy cut that compliments my face and fits my style. I told him I’ve never dyed my hair and he’s the first stylist ever who instead of trying to sell me on something or convince me to dye it said «Don’t dye it unless you really want to. Once you do it, there’s no going back». I appreciate the honesty! The salon is cute, cozy, and comfortable. Prices are on point. I’ll be coming back here!

This review is long overdue (sorry Krystyna). I was getting regular waxing here up until a couple years ago. When I moved to the burbs, almost an hour away, I would still drive up here to see my lovely Krystyna. She is the best. She is friendly and talkative, but not in an bad way. Over the years, we became friends. I even brought my son here to sit in the waiting room and play with her daughter. Her warm hospitality made me forget about the discomfort of the service. I felt like I was in one of those movies where you tell your waxing lady everything :) Also she is thorough and fast.

My wife didn’t have time to go to her salon prior to our weeklong trip to Chicago. Salon Visage was recommended to us as we were staying at a nearby B&B. Jackson Goss proved to be both talented and friendly. My wife couldn’t have been more pleased with his skilled cut and coloring. I was next in line and my haircut surpassed anything I experienced in South Jersey. So, if you are in the Bucktown area of Chicago, get in touch with Jackson Goss for great salon services – and products.

Jackson is AMAZING! I have never had so many compliments on my hair! When I came to Jackson my hair was super damaged, dry and brittle… he educated me care tips and products for my hair type, which has been super helpful! I highly recommend Jackson for anyone.

Jackson is awesome!
His customer service is great from the moment you walk in. The salon is clean, fresh and aesthetically pleasing. A complimentary beverage awaits you, a great consultation and then excellent work.
Typically would shy away from salons that are unisex, but the environment was comfortable for a male to get superb service.
Jackson is the reason I return and promptly schedule my next visit. The online system makes it easy to see what works best with my schedule.
He’s talented, has great style and has become a new friend. He is conscience of my need for a professional look but also helps with keeping a edge to my hair. Would undoubtedly recommend Jackson any day and any where!

If you are looking for someone passionate about their work, go here. Jackson loves what he does and with that love comes time, quality, and details. I have very strange hair. It’s thick, curly, and wild. He has cured my dry hair, educated me without a sales pitch on what products I should be using and why, tells me what services I need and don’t need, and takes the time to explain everything he is doing. He listens to his client, understands what they want vs. what they need, and finds a way to communicate the best option. He has saved my hair, literally. My entire family now sees Jackson on a regular basis, including my 6 year old. His prices are below average for the city. The most important factor, his is honesty. Women can be very difficult with their hair. I saw him on Dec. 31 for a color and style for my New Years celebration. The photos I posted that night were amazing. Everyone complimented my beautiful hair. True artist!

I see that most of these reviews are regarding Krystyna and her facials. This one is different. Today I am reviewing the most fantastic addition to Salon Visage and Day Spa: Mr. Jackson Goss.
Jackson is the salon’s hair stylist extraordinaire. He does it all — cuts, colors, blowouts– and all with amazing skills and passion. I had a color and cut with him last weekend and am in love with my new look, and apparently my co-​workers and peers are as well as I receive compliments left and right. Even my boyfriend noticed!
Jackson ensures you have the most relaxing experience possible by creating a lovely ambiance, offering your drinks, and engaging in fun conversations. You will leave feeling like you’ve known him for years.
But most importantly, the man knows hair. I happen to be more adventurous with my styles and am not afraid to try something new. I never thought I would be going to him to cut 4 – 5 inches off, but I trusted him and it was the best decision I made that day. I feel confident in my look, and confident that he will not let me down.
However I understand that some people prefer to stick to their «usual» dos, and he completely respects that. I did express my disapproval at a couple of his suggestions and provided a list things that I did not want. He listened and modified his plan and it looks fantastic!
Jackson wants you to be happy with your look. You can return for trims and re-​texturizing at no charge, which is great for touch-​ups for events or date nights.
I happen to be horrible at styling my own hair, which is something I want to get better at. Jackson took the time to show me what I can do at home to get his salon-​perfect results. (I have yet to try this, but will keep you posted on my success!)
There is no doubt in my mind that I will be returning again and again.
Moral of the story: Make an appointment to see Jackson TODAY!

Are you looking for a vivacious, European, skin-​loving, face saving, aestheticism? Oh, was that a yes? Well, my dears, call, no, run to see Krystyna! She is thorough and meticulous. You get every sense that she knows exactly what she’s doing.
For example, who knew I needed so many extractions or that I had LAYERS of dead skin on my face???
Her facials are NOT for the faint of heart! She gets all those little nasties and you may crunch your toes in a little bit of pain or hold your breath as she squeezes the grime out of your pores, but its completely worth it!
Yes, she will ask you a million questions. Think of it like this, «you can unload on whatever you desire to tell her… who is she going to tell?
Love it! I will be back!

I love Krystyna. Her microderm and chemical peels might just save my face. I have had/​have terrible comedones and just generally not great skin for a 31 year old human being. Then I had to have surgery on my cheek to remove a tumor. She has improved my skin and the healing on my scar 100-​fold. I found her with a Groupon and have been a loyal customer ever since, her prices are totally reasonable and she LOVES her job.
It’s not a «spa» experience, but I find sometimes you pay for the experience and not the end result, so I really like that she gets in there and works on your skin instead of just surfacey-​spa crap that doesn’t actually help in the long run. I love supporting a local, woman-​owned business and I think she rules.

ergh kind of torn about this place. i probably wouldn’t go again with so many other cheap and good places in the city that don’t even need a coupon, but for the price (lifebooker deal for $ 20, $ 35 total after tip), it was definitely worth it. i liked kristina a lot — she was extremely friendly and nice. she worked fast and my wax was pretty painless.
but i didn’t like having the personal conversation either. i don’t think i’m so special that i can’t answer a few harmless questions about myself, but when someone is ripping the hair out of my crotch, i’d rather just listen to them talk instead of being really active. i also don’t really like chatting with people who cut my hair, so maybe it’s just me.
she uses the cloth strips instead of the sugaring stuff you just pull off. i didn’t like it as much, but i guess that’s my fault since a little research would have cleared that up. she also did a few extractions, which was super nice. she did miss a tiny spot, too, but i don’t think it was that big of a deal.
she was very sweet and took a look at my face at the end just to see and gave me some chapstick because i needed it. her parting words to me were that i should work on getting a boyfriend.
