Sav-A– Lot is an oasis in the middle of a large food desert. It has a lot of canned goods, meat on the bone, processed food, and over priced(but always fresh) produce. I like Sav A Lot– they have soy milk, bootleg Splenda, fancy little protein/vitamin drinks, and frozen bean burritos. This is where go «out for lunch» at least once a week. They have a progressive bag policy– either bring your own, use a box, or pay for theirs. The place is always clean, and the staff are nice, and friendly. If I had to choose between Leamington’s and Sav– A– Lot, I’d pick this place every time. BUT do not stop by for a quick pick up on the first of the month– the place is jukin’; carts and carts FULL of food… and people just hanging out and socializing, having fun… which is OK, except when I just want a can of Coke… then its annoying. Cheers to Sav– A– Lot for finding a way to sell people decent food at decent prices in a neighborhood overrun with cornerstores selling quarter water and Krunchy Kurlz.
