Great cookies, the pine nut cookies are the best! But they have bad coffee lol. The coffee tasted watered down and it was lukewarm, thank God I got it for free with the check in. Prices were great honesty, coming from southern CA where everything is excessively overpriced. The quiche was good not amazing, I make a really good quiche so I’m a harsh critic. The ricotta on my toast was yummy. I would come here again and try the cakes.

Amazing! Stopped in here for the first time today and felt like I was walking into my grandpa’s house(in the sense that he’s 100% Italian, traditional, etc). pastries are amazing. Fresh, soft, delicious. Bought a box of pastries to bring to my moms but they didn’t make it that far!!! Would also be a great place to sit with a cup of coffee and get some work done, but they close at 4.

So far I’ve had the pepperoni pizza, éclair, and Horchata latte. All three were excellent. The inside of the éclair was soft and perfectly done. I’ve never had a better doughnut. I cannot recommend this place enough

Came here with a friend for a quick dessert one day before class at UIC. I had the blueberry scone and she had the apple cider donuts. The apple cider donuts sell out quick so if they have them don’t pass them up! Both were very delicious and although the staff member helping us seemed a little impatient, i would definitely recommend the baked goods here to anyone passing through.

Am a professional chef and have some skill in cake baking and decorating. Wanted to make my 60th birthday party a little easier and ordered the vanilla cake with lemon curd filling and whipped cream frosting. The crumb texture of the cake was excellent in an authentic way(not the super fine texture of grocery store cakes where the flour is denatured beyond recognition), and the flavor was superb. Price was absolutely fair for a cake of this quality. Highly recommended.

Best cannoli I’ve had since Modern Bakery in Boston’s North End. Super traditional and filled fresh. Love to take these home with me if I’m in the area.

Today, I received an email for 40% off any pie order for Thanksgiving this year due to their poor pie crust last year. I am blown away by their customer service — and just placed my order for another pumpkin pie and cranberry apple pie for this Thanksgiving!

Stopped by here for some take out pastries after breakfast at Sweet Maple. I got a pumpkin almond bar and a lemon ricotta cake. Heated them up for a snack and they were some of the best baked goods I have ever had. I will be back!

After seeing Scafuri featured on an episode of Chicago Best and beginning Italian I thought I would put their baking reputation to the test! And YES they passed with flying Italian colors! Old school Italian Bakery with a case full of all your favorite cookies, loafs and breads. Picked up a loaf of Italian White Bread, Fig, Pignoli and Chocolate Spice Cookies. The bread was still warm fresh out of the oven and the fig cookies are by far the best I have ever had. And you can never go wrong with a moist on the inside and little crunch on the outside Pignoli cookie. Will definitely keep them on my list for the holidays. Free parking on Sunday’s right in front of the shop and had to take advantage of the free cup of Lavazza coffee with a Unilocal check in

Popped into Scafuri during the Little Italy street festival to check out their entire selection, beyond what they were selling at their booth outside. This is a really cute little Italian bakery on Taylor street that looks like it’s been passed down a generation or two. My gf and I ended up getting a couple chocolate chip cookies(very soft and delicious) and a couple cannolis dipped in chocolate chips as well. The cannolis were spot on and was the perfect treat to wash down the huge italian sub I had just 15 minutes prior. Everything tasted really fresh! Great place in Little Italy to kick back, relax and have a cappuccino and a sweet treat!

We order a cannoli filling cake for birthdays and anniversaries. Super easy over email. Always phenomenal. We also had them do the wedding cake for my sister in law last year. Great prices, great cake! It was the least stressful part of the entire wedding. I’m also a huge fan of the pignoli cookies and buy a ¼lb whenever I’m in the neighborhood. They also do homemade pizza dough by the pound, whole wheat or white and whatever you decide to put on top of it will become amazing. Great job rebooting this place ladies, you should be very proud.

Super cute italian bakery on Taylor Street in lil italy. The workers are super friendly and fun to talk to; ask for recommendations and you won’t go wrong. I love anything lemon flavored so their $ 3.20 strawberry-blueberry lemon bar was perfect for me. If you check in on Unilocal right now they give you a free small coffee! Also, they were giving out samples of their delicious lemon butter cookies. Everything I ended up trying was so colorful & cute. They had these $ 1.50 pizza breads that looked good for a lunch visit. Also, I’ve tried their lemon riccotta pound cake at the Italian food festival last summer. It’s very dense & sweet; so be warned it’s quite the decedent dessert. But again, I love everything lemon flavored.

Scafuri Bakery provided some sweets for our wedding and they did not disappoint! From jump Kelly was really sweet to work with, super helpful at customizing options(our vision was a table full of random sweets we love), all while working with our small budget(and not making us feel bad about it!) Their sweets are delicious(some of the best donuts I’ve ever had) and we look forward to having them again soon. If you’re looking for delicious alternatives to serve for dessert at your wedding, don’t hesitate to give them a ring. They also do wedding cakes, which I can only imagine are delicious as well.

So I’m feeling what Scafuri is putting out there. It’s an adorable bakery right on Taylor Street in the heart of Little Italy. Gimmie all the lemon knots. Gimmie all the lemon ricotta cake.(No, I’m not joking. This is a very real thing.) Gimme all the chocolate spice cookies. Hell, even gimmie all the pizza. What? At a bakery? You’re lying, Angie M. Nope. I’m not lying. Giardiniera pizza is also a very real thing. One thing you don’t have to gimmie again is the cardamon scone. It was completely overdone. Hard to tell when just looking at it in the case, too, because it’s got a chocolate brown tint, but trust me… no go. Treats are a little pricey, too. I’m OK with it.

Visited on a whim since I had an hour to kill and can’t get over how cute this place is! Old school Italian pastry shop furnished with probably someone’s Grandma’s living room and dining room sets. The pastry all looked amazing and they had a great variety — I was too full from brunch to try one, but I hope to on my next visit. A group of older Italian women came in and couldn’t stop yelling about how excited they were to have a found a place with traditional pastries, so you know you’re in the right spot here! They also had frozen homemade pizza dough — $ 1.50 for a pound. I made it on my cast iron pizza pan that evening & it turned out crispy and delicious. Can’t wait to stock up on my next visit! The space is small seating-wise, but a perfect place to wait for a table next door at Maple Street Café!

This is an awesome Italian bakery! I was buying a box of cookies as a gift, and I basically got one of each cookie they had plus a couple cannolis. I also got a pignoli cookie for myself. It’s an almond cookie with pine nuts that was so delicious. My friends also loved all of the cookies and cannolis. What made this place so great is, though, is that the staff member who helped me was so friendly and knew everything about the cookies and how they were made, and she even let me taste one for free when I was ordering. FYI: if you check in here on Unilocal, you get a free coffee or tea with purchase!

Scafuri has absolutely amazing donuts! I came in one morning after I had gone to Sweet Maple for Breakfast. I got two apple cider donuts. One glazed and one with cinnamon sugar. They were both absolutely delicious! I also got a pumpkin spice latte which I really was not a fan of at all but Scafuri is a bakery first and foremost, not a coffee shop. I would have definitely given this place 5 stars even for the poor latte but the service here really wasn’t very good at all. I asked the lady at the counter about the lattes and she seemed very disinterested and even a bit offended that I was asking for her opinion… She didn’t make me feel welcome at all, the opposite in fact. Overall: 5 stars for the delicious baked goods! 2 stars for the abysmal service and bad latte Rounded up half a star since the donuts were so tasty!

I just recently moved to Chicago and was looking for a bakery for my husband’s surprise birthday party. I wanted a ‘MADMEN’ themed party so after contacting a couple of bakeries, I picked Scafuri and I am so glad I did. Kelly contacted me right away and we patiently went over my order via email(which was a big help for me). I sent her a picture of the cake I wanted and she was happy /excited to help me with it. Scafuri also helped me with my party favors, which were 4 different kinds of specialized cookies and all I had to do is tell them my ideas. They were PERFECT! The prices were very reasonable and my guests totally loved the cake and cookies. I would recommend this bakery to anyone who wants to stick to a budget and yet have a classy birthday party with absolutely delicious goodies. P.S the staff at the bakery who helped me were super sweet. I loved my whole experience with Scafuri. Thank you guys for making my party successful. Falak.
