Mr. John Stalle of Vision Carpentry in Crystal Lake Il was hired by me to do some general carpentry work and labor at $ 35.00. I gave him my keys to the unit as I live an hour away. He was hired to refurbish the nine hundred square ft unit with new molding, six prehung doors, hang new cabinetry, general patching and painting, hardware and minimal electric. It was a two week job to be completed by January 1,2012. He asked for $ 1700.00 in cash to complete the estimated $ 6000.00 job. He spent in total about 24 hours. He kept telling me he was doing the work, the work would be complete and being the holidays I was very busy. He was paid $ 4600.00 and no work was getting done. He hung six prehung doors and took two off after he had hung them. he tiled a very tiny bathroom and did about half of the floor molding, built two closets off an exsisting wall and drywalled minimally., he painted one small bath incompletely and installed a vanity. I fired him as he had overcharged me by two thousand dollars and the unit was far from being complete. Some of his bogus charges were for materials all purchased and in the unit by me with the exception of two doors and minimal supplies. He made up fraudulent reciepts of materials not needed and returned them for store credit. he stole my materials and returned them. He was very angry and aggresive on several occasions. He charged seventeen hours to tile a small bath that sshould have taken three, he charged eight hours for electrical work done by Bella Electric and was then fired with no return of the two thousand dollar overpayment. He then downloaded a lien form and had it motorized and filed with the deeds office with no proof or documentation stating I owed him another $ 1300.00. I have now spent thousands of dollars in addition to get the work completed and am still a month away and it is now THE END OF APRIL. i have lost months of rent. I have sent him three registered certified letters invoking SECTION 34 AND 35 OF THE Mechnics Lein Law which demanded the Lein be removed following the law. Mr Stalle has ignored these requests and is now facing charges of a FRAUDULENT LEIN in the State of Illinois. Each time he has filed bogus charges of harrassment with the police. The penalty for this is now $ 2500.00 and charges of FRAUD, PERJURY AND UNLAWFUL CLOUDING OF TITLE WHICH CARRIES TWO TO FOUR YEARS IN PRISON. Three different police departments are now involved. Mr. Stalle will answer for this in court. He is a sex offender in McHenry County and has a long felony record and spent time in jail. He refuses to voluntarily remove the Lein he fraudulently placed on my property. I will continue to write reviews online until this matter is completed to my satisfaction and his unfortunate criminal behavior. I will take all means necassary to protect my family… If Mr Stalle enters my home he does so with a warning. All intruders will be shot with the intent to cause grievous injury. I am an excellent marksman and will not hesitate to act. MR STALLE YOU ARE IN GRAVE JEAPORDY OF LOSING YOUR FREEDOM. REMOVE THE LEIN NOW.

On the few occasions that I have needed to hire someone for help around my home I have always been a little apprehensive (having had a few, not so pleasant experiences and a very reputable general contractor father) and it was no different when first meeting John, but that quickly changed. I understand carpentry and after meeting John it became clear that he knew exactly what I wanted. He has an attention to detail that separates him from the others. His estimate was more than fair and the quality of his work is exemplary. He takes great pride in his work.
An extra bonus with John is his great personality.
John is not only an extremely detailed carpenter (which is what I was contracting for), but he is very competent at doing electrical work. John was building me a very large custom cabinet and while in the middle of the project I realized that a dedicated electrical outlet needed to be installed before the work could be finished. I hadn’t realized that John could do electrical work and was very pleased and surprised that he was able to do this also and I would not need to contract out another job.
