The billing practices in this office are unacceptable. I was charged a «no show» fee for an appointment that I had rescheduled to another time. The office didn’t show that the appointment was rescheduled, but rather that I «added» a second appointment. Despite arguing with the billing people on multiple phone calls, the office refused to admit that they made a mistake. I’m out $ 50 because«their documentation shows I had an appointment.» I would not recommend this office to anybody.

I have read varying reviews of dermatologists in the Chicago area. Not surprisingly they vary widely, akin to those of cosmetic surgeons. Expectations play a large role in these. I had two lip lesions that were benign but slowly growing and I wanted them removed. My dermatologist at Chicago Lakeshore Medical, Dr. Smith, recommended a certain type of laser for the lips, found at the NMH dermatology department. I called for an appointment and received a consultation within two days — very unusual and positive. When I was seen by Dr. Yoo and a medical resident, timely by the way, they suggested that if I could just wait for 15 – 20 minutes they could perform the procedure. Of course, I accepted, popped down to Corner Bakery for a sandwich and returned. The doctor and his staff were compassionate, efficient and professional. The laser did not hurt whatsoever even though they warned me; of course I had topical anesthetic. Their promise of rrsults is evident three weekds later. The elsions have all but disappeared. It helped me that I had prior minor surgery to remove one under my upper lip because Ihave herpes simplex andamy disruption or wound causes fever blisters and swelling. But the effect of the laser was minimal and I am very pleased. Such therapy is expensive but worth it in my case. Dr. Yoo made a return visit for 4 – 6 weeks but it won’t be necessary. The office is very efficient and comfortable in the Arkes Family Pavilion on St. Clair.
