Slim’s

When I want something easy and fast, Slim’s is my go to spot. The burgers and the steak sandwiches are really good.

Super yummy if you’re looking for classic American food. Everything I’ve had here is good. Hot dogs, milkshakes, curly fries, chicken fingers (hand breaded!), mozzarella sticks, chicken sandwich, salads. You really can’t go wrong! My boyfriend and I order from here often.

My fiancé and I were looking for something different for dinner. We saw spicy chicken po’boys on the menu and ordered right away through GrubHub. They called immediately and asked when I would be there. I asked when it would be ready, and she said 8:00. I arrived at 8:00 exactly and still waited 10 minutes. Not a huge deal.
The place was clean and pretty well decorated with red tiles, flat screen tv, and booths. Took the food home.
The po’boy had good French bread – crispy on the outside, a bit of of squish on the inside. The chicken looked fresh and had a nice breading. Unfortunately, it is WAY TOO SPICY. I like spicy food. I order food covered in hot sauce and peppers all the time. This mayo was so spicy I couldn’t eat more than a couple bites. My entire mouth was on fire. I downed 3 cans of soda. My normally pale lips were bright red. Definitely order the po’boy with the «spicy mayo” – AKA revenge of Satan’s angry @ssh0le – on the side.
I’ll have to reserve stars for when I order something I can actually eat.

Tried for the first time. Got the mozzarella sticks breaded chicken and cheeseburger all very good. Breaded chicken is really good fries were decent. Very reasonable prices. Seating is limited but is comfy though for the amount of seating.

Totally fair prices and the service is exceptionally fast. Possibly slightly overrated but 100% worth the cost. I’m a big fan of ordering the salads, best deal possible. Large portions and always fresh. The sandwiches are solid to above average, but that would be the only part I would consider slightly overrated.

Slim’s Chicago dog is the benchmark I compare all other dogs to. The quality and proportion of ingredients is art. I dream about the crispy fries. I love you, Slim’s.

This place is a solidly delicious place to grab a burger, chicken po’boy sandwich, and killer mozzarella sticks.
Ive been coming here for about 6 months consistently and I have nothing bad to say. I wanted to to wait to see if I really like this place or love it and I have to say I love it. The owner Matt is a down to earth guy. The food is cooked well and fast. Longest wait I’ve had was maybe 6 minutes. The food is fresh and hot when you get it.
Speaking of hot, the spicy chicken po’boy is by far one of tube top things on the menu here. The French bread that it’s on is soft and the perfect size. The chicken is breaded and flavorful. The onions and lettuce is perfect offers the sandwich the perfect amount of crisp. The spicy mayo that they put on it just ties the whole sandwich together. The spicy mayo is great on the sandwich ad if you ask nicely they will put a little extra on the side for the fries.
«The Slim «is a cheese burger with their twist of Italian beef on it. I know it sounds crazy and insane but trust me… it’s worth it. Their patty is lean, flavorful, and thick. Most places skimp you out of the meat but they don’t do that here. You get the flavor of a burger and Italian beef which is very exciting for your taste buds.
The mozzarella sticks that they have here are like no other that I have had before. I have had my share of mozzarella sticks especially when I was in school in Wisconsin, the cheese state. The mozz sticks are perfectly crispy and golden brown. The cheese inside is perfectly gooey and delicious.
I would have to say if you’re in the neighborhood, you would be doing yourself a favor by stopping in. This place will make you and your wallet happy.

Never have I ever… fallen I love with a salad. But along came Slim’s cobb. So delicious. very fresh. It had a really good blue cheese, nice high quality avocado. The bacon was cooked perfectly. I know some reviewers did not like the honey mustard dressing but I didn’t mind it. The employee at the counter was friendly so I’m sure you cod ask to. sub it. I also got the steak sandwich which I thought would be more like a cheese steak. It was not… sadly. the meat was good, just not the texture I expected (a chipped beef). I guess that’s the Pennsylvanian in me wanting a Philly hoagie in Chi-​town. But, it was a decent sandwich. best part, each item was about 6 bucks. Score. I will be coming back.

I’ve never dined in here, but I always get delivery. It comes in a normal amount of time.
The one item that keeps me coming back is the beef sandwich. It is so delicious! I haven’t come across a better beef sandwich since I’ve been ordering from here.

Their food is always good and always delivered fast! I usually have the cheese burger and fries or curly fries or mozzarella sticks.

This place used to be a mom and pop fast food, with great service and food. Slim’s a great followup! I had the spicy chicken po boy, cheeseburger top with Italian beef w/​peppers and cheese fries. I didn’t know which one to eat first so I tackled it simultaneously lol.
The man at the counter was nice. Food was soo good. I am a fan.

I ordered a burger and fries and a «oven baked cookie » .
The burger was large and had a all the stuff on it I had requested. They did actually read the special request section !!!
The fries were good a little on the soggy side but still good .
The cookie was supposed to be oven baked but it was actually a prepackaged cookie .
The delivery service was fast ! My food arrived hot ! I would use their delivery service again.

2 Chicago dogs, an Italian beef sandwich, and a root beer float. All delicious as heck, really great, super clean place, and fast friendly service!

Ordered for the first time and through Unilocal.They got the order perfect! The hotdogs were Vienna beef-​delicious! The Italian beef was perfect! The meat was tender and thinly sliced. The spicy chicken po-​boy was very spicy per my hubby but he suffered through and ate it all up! Would definitely order again!

This place is altogether fantastic. Fast delivery.
The Italian Sausage Sandwich was on point.

Before I begin–
GET THE SPICY CHICKEN PO BOY. If you don’t like grilled chicken, ask them for their spices/​sauce to be used with the breaded chicken instead.
SMILE AT THE VERY NICE AND PRETTY BLONDE GIRL WORKING THERE. She is really accommodating.
I’m giving Slim’s 5 stars because of how all around solid it is, not because the food is the best ever.
The curly cheese fries are pretty good and don’t taste like old oil, which is nice. The standard melted cheese is actually really good– it’s a way better version of cheese-​whiz, and is deliciously cheap in that awesome «wow this is bad for me, but so tasty» kind of way. I think I could drink that stuff. Gross, but true
Their burgers are decent– cheap and stacked with condiments
Polish sausages are okay– I like Byron’s better. But again, well executed and you get what you pay for.
Salads are really good! I love the Cobb, but not the dressing (why honey mustard on a Cobb salad?). Ranch is the way to go.
Hotdogs are awesome. Well put together and just the way it should be for Chicago style dogs and chili cheese dogs.
They offer a nice fried fish sandwich for you piscatarians, along with a black bean burger and an egg and pepper sandwich that my mom loved.
Large orders done in about 15 minutes for take out, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. When I walk with my dog and order to go, they bring it out to me while I wait outside with her.

I’m a die-​hard Chicago-​dog lover. However, due to hubby’s dietary restrictions and my busy schedules, I haven’t walked into a hot dog joint for awhile now.
I missed my chi-​town doggies and determined to visit Slim’s this evening after finishing running errands after work. Slim’s is located two (2) blocks west from the CTA Montrose Brown Line station in the Ravenswood neighborhood. I know there’s usually a huge demand for their delivery services, yet their dining room is hip and comfortable if you ever stop by instead of chilling at your couch playing video games. They have two (2) television sets booming our invincible Chicago Blackhawks and champion-​wannabe Chicago Cubs.
We came in around 20:30 hour, and the workers were busy prepping a ton of pick-​up and delivery orders. I had one of their specials: two (2) Chicago-​style dogs with fried for $ 4.99 (awesome…classy…cheap). Fortunately, hubby found the black bean burger on the menu, so he didn’t need to befriend with the meat.
The toppings on their hotdogs were very fresh. I was especially fond of the hot peppers to provide an extra «kick,» but I wish there was more relish to tone down the «hot.» Regardless, I was excited to have my Chicago «edible pets» back in my life!
Hubby enjoyed his black bean burger, but he said it could have been made a bit «spicier.» He still preferred the BBB at the Hot Diggity Dog underneath the CTA Wellington Brown/​Purple Line station.
Slim’s menu is one of the most extensive menus I’ve seen. It covers just about everything Chicagoans are proud of (hotdogs, beef sandwiches, burgers, fries, soup, chili, and shakes).
This place can get you addicted if you live close by! With that being said, being «slim» will soon be out of question if hotdogs and burgers are part of your daily routine.

Just got a delivery and after a mistake on my end and accidentally picking pick-​up they were very kind to make the change for me.
But when my food arrived the positive experience ended. Their menu listed a «monster energy drink» and I had been craving one for days so I was very excited to drink one. But they brought me some no sugar, diet version of the drink.
When I called I was told «this is what they sell» and they would not be remedying the situation. Apparently I’m supposed to know that is the version I am getting.
What is that about?! When I order a coke, and I supposed to know I’m getting a Diet coke?!
Thanks for your help! There are enough places in Chicago that care about my order that I don’t need to order from here again.
