I have no idea how helpful this store is for purchasing a cell phone or opening a plan, so I cannot speak to that. However, they are selling counterfeit«Apple» accessories, which to me negates any high-quality service elsewhere. I purchased a set of «iPhone 5 earbuds,» as they were described by the(albeit friendly) sales guy, and upon opening them quickly realized they were fake. Flimsy material, heinous quality that rivaled headphones circa 2002, no Apple logo on the back of the plastic container, etc. Will not be purchasing from them again.

Dealing with cell phone carriers on any topic is generally a massive headache. I’ve had them all — Verizon, T Mobile, AT&T, etc., and they all have terrible customer service at some point or another. Not the case here. I called about switching my phone over to a new device and James provided me with detailed instructions of what to do before(backup, download Verizon’s transfer app, etc) so I could decrease my in-store waiting time. When I got to the store he was just as quick and helpful as he had been over the phone and even volunteered that Verizon would buy back my old iPhone for a pretty competitive price. I still have my reservations about Verizon and its customer service, but not when it comes to James. I’ll go out of my way to go back to this location for any of my future needs.

Smart Phone Center — right by Monk’s Pub under the el – Is a great resource to score a solid deal on a phone. The owner is there. You are dealing with an honest guy who cares about his customers, his reputation and his business. This is a small INDEPENDENT business. I like to support businesses like this.

First Trip: I went in there to look for a new smartphone. I asked what phones were out and what phones were coming out. I got told they weren’t receiving any of the new phones(Razr, the new Samsung one) so basically, I had to get one they already had. I didn’t believe it. I think they were just trying to get a sale that day. Second Trip: I took my new iphone in to get the contacts switched over from my old phone. The guy said he would charge me $ 20 bucks bc I didn’t buy my phone there. Otherwise, he would have done it for free. What a sham! It isn’t even like he was busy. I was the only one in the store. I don’t trust this store. It seems like they are just trying to make a quick buck.
