Sokol Community Center Hall

We were introduced to Sokol gymnastics by a family member. Both my son and daughter wanted to join gymnastics but there are few options in the city, especially those that are affordable and with openings. Sokol ended up fitting these criteria, so we gave it a try.
Sokol is a community center that offers gymnastics classes for tots, children and teens/​adults. They separate classes for boys and girls. Classes are on week night evenings for 90 mins. The equipment is good and the children really enjoy themselves. There are even a few local/​regional competitions for the kids to participate in. The instructors are very nice and work very well with the kids. There are two long sessions per year as well as a summer camp.
The cost for gymnastics is quite low because children/​parents are expected to volunteer at least 2 hours of time each session and participate in a few fund raisers. (Bake sale, candy sale, candle sale, etc.). You can however opt out of this and pay an extra fee instead.
Sokol is a very family and community based organization that has been run by a family for several years. The building is «old school» but clean and accessible. There is even a library available for parents to read or talk while their children are in class (or you can drop off). There are many social events that are fun for the whole family.
