Sonia Selections

Lots of selections. I been all over town, this place has just what I was looking for. If that was the only case, I would not have been too impressed. However, the service really put it over the top. Especially Sonia. She stayed with me for an hour, showing me around. Her patience and positive attitude were incredibly impressive. I would go back just because the positive shopping experience I had with her.
I cannot say enough good things about this store. Good prices, great service. Must place to visit, if ur looking for Indian clothes.

I stopped in particularly in search of a long scarf, which are hard to find. I found exactly what I was looking for. I bought two scarves made from sari material, one beautifully embellished with tiny crystals. I have no idea if I bargained for a good deal ($ 35 for the pair), but was very happy with the price compared if they were sold in a trendy boutique. And the man working there was very nice. I get compliments on both, every time I wear one!

” like I said HAD YOU been a tailor you would’ve known that. I can go ahead and explain to you step by step on how to make a salwar kameez but I feel like it’s not going to do you any good because you’re not writing to inform the readers, you’re writing as a means of VENTING to the public about nonsense with out accurate information“
The rest is tooooooooo colorful for my taste to be shared on Unilocal,but wow how cool is this guy? I guess it doesn’t matter if I told you that I DO indeed sew sir (did you read the part where I describe how to in my previous review, or were you too busy thinking of nice things to say to me). You do see now that it isn’t the unfair $ 5 you made… it’s the whole package of your awesome customer service and nice vocabulary! Yes! Everything put together makes your business so charming!
This gentleman also thinks in the private message he had the audacity to send me, that the little accident I shared with the readers on Unilocal was my way of «spicing up the story». And I purposely took shears to the shirt to make a hole in it! Like I said the rest is very colorful to be shared.
However, the good part of the story is I just recently was at Devon with a really cool friend (no pun intended here) who has grown up in Chicago and I found the perfect places to shop and get oh so nice service :) I will be writing nicer reviews for places that do indeed desreve them, once I have the time, my work keeps me busy (not spicing up the story, facts really :)…)
But moral of the story, spicy or bland; take your time in Devon, you will meet nice people, put your walking shoes on and explore! You just don’t have to go to Sonia Selection no matter how pretty the Sari is on the mannequin.

DO NOT GO HERE! I can’t warn you enough. The old man who is the owner or something is so rude, he wouldn’t show us anything until we told him how much we could afford to buy. There were three of them — probably the owner, his wife and his daughter and they were all trying to convince me to buy things that looked terrible and were ridiculously overpriced. HORRIBLE. The wife kept telling me that her outfits were the only ones I would find in my size! Rude! Don’t buy anything here and don’t trust anything they tell you.
A friend of mine bought an outfit and brought it back to the shop because it had a stain on it. He tried to convince her it was part of the design — it was a solid color kamees with a big stain! It was clearly damaged. The point of all this: DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME YOU WILL BE CHEATED. They have dishonest business practices and you have been warned. If you can’t remember the name, just remember it is right across the street from Tahoora with a red sign, toward the west end of Devon. Avoid at all cost!

My fiancée found some great bangles and bhindi there. This is a well-​stocked shop with good variety and good service.

Cute little Indian clothing boutique. It has lots to choose from and everything is stylish and trendy. Make sure to bargain to get the best deals!
