Fun time I had last Saturday when I came here. Had so much fun the only downside was twenty dollars for cover fee after twelve But I must say pretty mix crowd. Very spacious club like two floor but maybe if I’m not mistaken like three Dj’s playing pretty mixed music going on which was awesome want to jam to hip hop go downstairs. You want techno go upstairs. I believe that theirs like six different bars lol(that’s a maybe who knows) The only down side is too many people bumping into you like super drunk people⁉ which is kind of getting old since your walking around with your drink and every bump means one dollar going to waste lol no way Jose I want my drink in my gut. Security is almost everywhere so you feel safe I must say can’t wait to come again here party my ass off thanks for the awesome night looking to come back.

Really like the Thursday Latin night. They play salsa bachata merengue reggaeton and hip hop. All the chicks working here look like models. Good drink deals.

Love Spy Bar! I’m a regular there and always have a good time. Follow them on facebook, and dig around for local promoters on facebook and twitter in order to get on the rsvp guestlist for free. Bartenders and bathroom attendants are always gracious, the bussers and security staff always are on point and make me feel safe– there isn’t often any riff raff like I see at places like Underground or The Mid. If you want to listen and dance to good house music, this is your spot!

Never again! Telling customers to go f*** themselves is NOT acceptable. I hope that the management of this bar can remind the 2 bouncers(from Saturday night 11⁄14) about it. Myself and a 3 other friends were visiting Chicago and decided to try out SpyBar after we saw a line there. After we went it, we immediately realized that this is completely not our type of bar and came out exactly 1 minute later, very politely asking for a refund of our $ 20 cover. The bouncer told us that there is no refund and insisted that we leave. Only after I told him(POLITELY) that I will leave him a bad review and will call the police he gave me the money back. After which we got the above line yelled at us in front of all the customers. Dear management, I think it’s time to hire new well-mannered bouncers.

This caucasian short male bartender over charged me for my drinks several times just to make more tips. The drink was $ 18 but charged me $ 20. It was just demeaning of him. Venue is small, but has decent music. I went Saturday night 10÷17÷15. The music was super chill edm.

Don’t come here on a Thursday. We paid $ 20 to get in and it was a waste of money. The music sucked and there was no one there!!! Go somewhere else on a Thursday. Don’t waste your money.

Excuse me, I’m in my mid 30’s and I don’t go to clubs much anymore, but I like Spybar. My boyfriend and I danced the night away to their all girls DJ’s night. They have a nice seating area and a decent dance floor. The drinks are poured better than most clubs! The décor is modern and comfortable, but not so over done you feel like you are visiting the royal family. It’s a good place to go on a weekend or weeknight to remind yourself you are not old… You are still a dancer… You can still feel the music and you can still handle your liquor, so enjoy!

Came here on a Saturday with my boyfriend and overall we had a ok experience. To be quite honest idk if we had an overall ok experience because we were already drunk but THANKGODWEWERE! A baby sized cup of gin & tonic is $ 9!!! $ 9 fucking dollars. I could have only imagined our bill if we would have arrived sober. Am I being too cheap? Who knows! But I always start off with a gin & tonic anywhere I go and it’s never been that expensive for such a small amount. The music was good tho, I can’t deny that. It kept us dancing all night! We will def give it another try & I’ll make sure to update and tell ya’ll how I REAAAALLLLY feel!

Titter tottering between a 3.5−4. Rarely has spy bar been my ‘gp to’ spot for some good music, dancing and fun. However I give it much credit for its ability to still draw me in either during prime hours or going there as the after hours spot. I like how its intimate and the music is good. you gotta be a fan of edm and deep house to appreciate Spy Bar. Of course it is small, run down, but honestly, which Chicago club isn’t? You go into spy bay knowing its not going to be a spot you dress up like you’re in a vegas club, but you don’t see as many busted looking dudes as you do at sound bar. Even though this time I came around 2:45/3 am they still charged the dudes $ 10. Watch yourself.

Came here on a Thursday night. No cover in Chi Town. That’s great! But the music was not. The place was totally not packed, nor was the music bumpin. The DJ was playing some weird techno music. Needless to say, my friends and I didn’t stay too long…

Got there Wednesday night… was early… place was empty at 11.30…got a decent crowd by 1.30…stepped out for 5 minutes… person at the entrance didn’t let us in… saying you are too drunk…(asking cash to let us in)…place is decent… bartender Louis was great… staff at the entrance can be better!

Went on a Saturday, 4÷18÷15. This is evidentially a place to go if you’re chilling on some Molly or X. We asked around for a dance club recommendation. We actually had someone ask us in a very condoning matter, «Well why are you even here if you aren’t rolling and wanting to listen to house music? You should know better!» We’re from the burbs, we didn’t know better, hopefully this helps someone else. I’ve been to EDC Las Vegas and Ultra in Miami. I’m not a square, against that scene, but I read all these rave reviews about the place and was less than impressed. I came here with three other girls for the second stop of our bachelorette party. The guy we spoke to on the phone earlier in the week gave us a couple of names to mention at the door, and that we would be let in, cover free, no problem. While we did get in, cover free, the way they handled it was very unorganized. They acted like we were making our story up– like we just happened to know all of those names by chance. Finally, the manager walked us in and gave us a table, only to have the waitress come by and tell us it was reserved. We didn’t have to move, we told her to talk to the manager about it. Finally, they brought us a bottle of champagne. We left shortly thereafter. The place itself is nice. I’m sure when they’ve got some good DJs in there, it’s a riot.

I only visit Spy Bar when there is a DJ coming through that I want to see, which really isn’t often. The space is just too small and crowded with very drunk people to be enjoyable if you are not there for a reason. Imagine lots of shoving and leering. Drinks are also very expensive, and the bathroom inevitably has 2 – 3 stalls«Out of Order»(which at Spy Bar just means that they are saving the stalls for the girls who bring bottles to tables to change clothes in). Go expecting very little and you won’t be disappointed!

So my boyfriend and I just came back from Spybar not too long ago. Many things to say. First off, expensive drinks. $ 9 shots? Come on. Music was flat out boring. Unless you were on molly. Like everyone there. Someone even offered it to us. Pretty creepy. Secondly, if you like a homophobic awkward cruel setting then step right up to be apart of the wrong side of history at Spybar. An individual walked up between my boyfriend and I, while we were just enjoying the music in a corner, laughed at us and told us to break apart while putting his hands between us and pushing us apart. Extremely unnecessary and he walked away laughing. We then left the scene extremely offended, hurt, and astonished. The lazy and worthless bouncers won’t help with anything so you’re on your own. They told us to wait for their boss who was already dealing with the cops already. Then he told us to leave. He was not understanding of the situation and quite rude about it. I mean, I understand it is cold out but your job is to help people not look pretty at the door. Though, the woman at the register was more understanding. Too bad there weren’t more people like her in the world.

This place is not as hype as it claims to be!!! The security tried to make us check our coats in right after charging us $ 20 to get in even though we had no idea of what the ambience was! The place definitely sucks!!!

Been here twice, won’t be coming back. Had three spare tickets for Dusky that I needed to sell and asked the doorman if I could sell it out in front. Doorman said ‘sure.’ After I sold the tickets out of courtesy I tipped the doorman and attempted to walk in. The doorman said it wasn’t enough, literally took $ 20 from my hands and said he was doing me a favour. Hope they realize they are in the service industry. Won’t be going back again. Who the hell wants to pay $ 5 for a bottle of water anyway? Or sit in a club with no ventilation? EQ on speakers were horrible too…

Actually had a lot of fun here with my girlfriends. This is a place you come to dance. It’s not posh posh and shi shi but good music and crowd is pretty friendly. Everyone there just wants to have fun. Danced all night with my girls. There usually is a cover, its crowded, lots of people on drugs and loud music but It’s a club, what do you expect? I’ll be back, but not in my Louboutin’s as they got pretty banged up :(

Bouncers on power trips and the slowest, least danceable techno music I’ve ever heard.(Also the fewest people dancing that I’ve ever seen on a dance floor.) Would not return. $ 20 cover(although they did let all the girls in our group in for free) and a mandatory $ 4 coat check that we weren’t told about until after we’d entered the club. Also, I don’t know what off-brand vodka they were serving, but it was nasty.

Went with my boyfriend because he is a big fan of the dj that was playing. Couldn’t find cover price online anywhere after 10 $ presale sold out. Showed up to find cover was doubled, so 40 $ to get in. Took a few steps inside to discover a mandatory coat check. 4 $ Walked over to the bar to order a whiskey on the rocks, 20 $ minimum, so we ordered a second. 28 $ for two drinks. MONEYGRUBBING bastards! The dj, known for playing techno and deep house played some crap house music to appeal to the Chicago crowd(filled with older men. :( Spy bar’s sound system isn’t all that great either. There are way better clubs in Chicago than Spy Bar.
