The service was really good. The food was great. They have added to their menu. They could extend the hours. I would recommend this place.

I love the Jerk chicken tacos an my daughter had the steak tacos they were so delicious. I can not wait to return back to this restaurant. We found this restaurant just by going south bound on Stony Island and it was truly the best decision we made.

I am so glad to have found Stony’s Palace Café! The café is charming and very comfortable. The service was fast and friendly. The food and coffee were delicious!!! I will be returning again soon!

I’ve been here about 3 – 4 times. The very first time it was for Mother’s Day and it was a group of us. My mom and I had a dirty fork so they went to go get clean ones. Then they toke forever to give us all our food since it was a large group. The second visit me and my sister went in cause we just wanted pancakes and eggs. So we ordered, sat at the table to wait and get our food, we sit and the table is stuck all over. I’m like what!!! It was so gross. So we went to another table and that one was sticky too. I couldn’t believe it. The third time we kept having to repeat our order and they messed up my order. Then for the drinks this guy I don’t know if he was deaf but we had to point to what drink we want. They need someone to do the orders that you don’t have to worry about doing that. I’m not going back there. I love the food but it’s not worth it

I wasn’t feeling the décor but the food was decent. They went for a urban chic look but obviously didn’t use top grade materials or furnishing. The place looks like it could use better upkeep but it’s not a dump either.
I had the ribeye breakfast withe eggs and hash browns with toast. The steak was thin but very well seasoned. The eggs were just okay. They were not fluffy and obviously cook on the same griddle as everything else.
The wife had the Creamy caramel pecan waffle. She loved it! Sweet, nutty and crisp waffles with great flavor and texture.

This place is a south side gem. Their waffles melt in your mouth there so good and they dont need syrup. My favorite i sthere Chicken and waffles. However I love there omeletes, salads and skillets. The inside has a very warm welcoming and trendy feel. The customer service and lemonade is also great. if you are ever in the area defly try them.

Came here for Mother’s Day Brunch.
There was a large group of us and we waited a very long time to get our food. As a group we were not given our food around the same time either. We were all starving so this pissed people off. One person from our group actually refused her potential meal & left because she ended up being the very last person who did not have her food. This is all after it had been an hour plus since we’d been seated.
I ordered a patty melt and I guess I shouldn’t have. I figure it’s really hard to screw up a patty melt — but the meat tasted old and it made me quite sad. The fries that came with my food were really good though!
I was too through when I found that as my infant daughter was chewing her micky mouse pancakes that there was a long hair sticking out of her mouth in her food… It was evident that the hair did not match anyone at our table, so I had to hold myself back from flipping out. I didn’t bother even complaining about it at the time because I don’t ever picture myself coming back.
Overall service was alright — not spectacular, but nothing to complain too much about in that department aside from our meals not being served at the same time. Menu pricing is decent as well.
I give this place 2 stars instead of 1 because some people enjoyed their meals even though it took forever to come out. I was definitely not a camper though.

The place is comfortable, the food is good but the service is slow for the price. I’m sitting here and had to ask the cook to make what I wanted :(

We’ve passed this place several times and finally got up early enough for breakfast this Sunday. If you want a waffle, you’re okay. If you’re hoping for anything else, go elsewhere. The turkey sausage was… I really don’t know how else to describe it but wet and squishy. Although I ordered pork bacon, I’m pretty sure the pile of scraps that served as «four strips of bacon» was actually turkey bacon, deep fried and overcooked.
The inside is pretty dimly lit, but it appeared they had some patio seating out back, but it was too cold for that.
Might be good for a hangover, but I don’t feel like we’ll be going back. I feel like I’m possibly being over critical, but I think I just had my hopes up for a good soul food breakfast, and it just didn’t happen.

I’ve passed by this more times than i can count. I finally went in. Décor: it must have been a lounge before or doubles as one because the velvet couches don’t seem to say breakfast diner but I liked it. Service: the two waitresses were very nice. Food: I ordered the ham&cheese breakfast with eggs fried hard with cheese, hash browns & a side of pancakes, The ham was the best part. The hash browns were typical &the pancakes were ok. I’ll try the waffles next time.

I really like this place!
The staff is nice and food is great! I love how they have WIFI and I can get about from my home office to work and or meet clients.
Besides Avalon Park is an awesome community and we want to support our local business! I’m going to start 100 Percent of the time tell clients to meet me here vs Starbucks

I am so rooting for this place to succeed. The food is good, its pretty resaonable priced, and the undustrial city loft feeling and décor is AWESOME. Now for the BUT. There is definately room for improvement in the SERVICE. The first time that we went there, we walked in, and did not know that we were supposed to seat ourselves, and the server/​bussers just walked by us. Finally someone acknowledged us and told us to seat ourselves. The person that brought water to the table did say a word, and the server looked DEPRESSED. I was like «WHAT A SAD PLACE». so the other day, i decided to give the place another chance. This time it was afraid that it was going to be the same experience. The persoe that brought the water looked SO SAD and didnt say a word to us, and the server was just as SAD, but the food was AWESOME. So when the server brought the chack and asked how things were, i decided to be honest and told her exactly what I thought, and she definately made an error to make a little conversation and even made a litte joke. This is definately going to be my go to breakfast spot, but I am so hoping that it is successful. With such a small and new spot, If i were the manager/​owner, i would definately make the rounds to the table to ask how things are and thank the customers for coming, Just a thought.
