First, made an appointment for a cut then realized I was stuck with my two little toddlers due to no last minute babysitter. I really needed this appointment since it was my wedding anniversary today. I called the salon and told them my situation and they were very understanding and told me to bring them in. I went in and got a cut with Molly. She was very energetic and she knew exactly what I was going for! Very satisfied with my hair and they were all so kind at the salon! I highly recommend Molly! She’s really great!(Btw. I’m super picky…:))

Studio 110, well Marissa, changed my life! Before Marissa, every time I would get a hair cut I would be upset, that has never been the case with Marissa. She treats each hair cut with the highest professionalism. You show her a picture of what you want and she will not just say ok, she asks questions, and gets to the details, and truly figures out the hair style that will work best for you. She is extremely personable and truly cares. Have you ever been somewhere where the makeup girl/guy or stylist tries to sell you the products they put on you, not here. Marissa will suggest things that will work great in your hair, but never once will she push purchasing a product on you. She uses many Kevin Murphy products(which are the best hair products I have ever used). If you have not tried them, you need to. I have fine hair and the Kevin Murphy products make my hair feel and look thicker. I have recently experienced Marissa’s updo experience which is just as good as her hair cutting/styling. She created an elegant look for my sister’s wedding. She came to our hotel room and kept the whole bridal party calm. Everyone looked like perfection :) Besides, wonderful Marissa, overall Studio 110 is a great salon. From the receptionists to the hair washers, everyone is helpful and unpretentious. Yes, you pay the money for the great quality. It is totally worth it. I have recommended Studio 110 to many people and no one is ever disappointed.

Beautiful Salon, Beautiful People, Beautiful Hair, but totally down to earth and Megan was amazing for highlights and tone. Very, very happy!

Front desk staff unpleasant. You would think they would have rockstar employees at such a pricey salon but yea NO lol Ive had my cut here once. You will only get a good cut with a senior stylist. The apprentice aren’t great but again you are gambling with your beautiful hair so be aware. They will ruin it and a senior stylist tries to fix it but it will be a bit too late by then :( There are plenty of better places then here. sorry to say.

I came in originally to just get color done and met one of the apprentices Daniel. I came back in the next day for a hair cut and I’m so glad I did. I’m not great at telling a stylist what I want, but somehow he read my mind and gave me the perfect cut. A few weeks later and I’m still in awe of what a difference a good cut makes. Definitely go see him, plus the apprentice rates can’t be beat!

Extremely poor customer service from the nail technician. Returned to have one nail fixed and she refused! Really?! I have walked into this salon a few times now to get products, etc., and they are just extremely unprofessional. Would never return or recommend it to anyone.

I had my hair cut and styled by Johnson(an apprentice) and he did an amazing job. My hair is extremely annoying to work with– very curly and damaged from lots of pulling through the curls over the years– and he made sure to work with it until it was perfect. Jeffrey was helping instruct him/giving him tips throughout my time there, and Johnson was really receptive of all the comments and did a great job. I have gotten nonstop compliments all day. Not to mention since he’s an apprentice, he’s currently doing cuts on Wednesday mornings and Thursday afternoons for $ 25. My only complaint is that I went in at 9 and told them more than once I had to leave by 11 at the latest, and they weren’t done until 11:15(which would be ok except that I was late to see a patient!). But I think most people would be more than happy they were willing to spend over 2 hours on just a basic cut and blow dry :)

I trusted Tina with my hair for two huge events, never having met her and these events were for my son’s wedding and the many parties. I looked fabulous! Loved what she did with my hair, wished I could take her back to Washington, DC with me. I was treated very nicely in the Salon but if you need your hair done for a big day, and it is fine hair like mine, Tina is the hair stylist for you! She also did my make up. Frankly, I felt like a million bucks, nothing much else to say.

Molly helped fix my butchered hair from a previous salon. She did not chop it off like most people would but worked with it diligently to get it back to beautiful. She took her time and really cared. She’s great!

I got my haircut with Johnson. First of all he is funny and personable, so the experience was fantastic. He is also a perfectionist, which came in handy since my hair looks great! With the help of Johnson and the rest of the salon, my haircut turned out better than I had hoped. The layers are perfect. I have received so many compliments on my new cut. I don’t know why other people said the staff is snooty. Everyone I came in contact with was very nice and accommodating. The only thing that bothered me was that I still got charged for parking even though I had parking validation from the salon. I don’t know what that’s about. Anyway, I love my cut!

The salon is so-so but there are a few amazing stylist there such as Richelle and Jim. I followed them from another salon, I’ve never regretted it. Both are amazing. Just like any experience in life, the employee you interact with makes the difference. The front desk is rough but if you want an an amazing haircut schedule with Richelle.

Seriously such a great experience. One of my best hair service experiences! I went on a Sunday and it was very quiet and relaxing. My hair dresser was the sweetest and very down to earth and listened to my hair history and actually LISTENED haha. A lot of times I’ve had hair dresser just dismiss me when I explain what I want and kind of do their own thing. Was in and out very quickly too! If I lived in town it would be my new go to salon.

$ 180 for a color service(before tips) and I had to blow dry my own hair??? Really??? I’m surprised I wasn’t asked to pay extra for washing my hair, which was done by an unsupervised assistant in training who had no idea what to do and splashed water all over my face repeatedly. Very dirty and dusty salon with the filthy stained chairs and dust all over the floor corners and chandeliers. The receptionists are rude and stuck up, not even simple ”Thank you” when charged my CC, they acted as they were doing me a favor by taking my money with no eye contact made. I gave this place few chances and had the same disappointment every time I was there. One star is for my color that was not exactly what I wanted but turned out OK. Well, guess what. I can spend my $$ else where. Do yourself a favor, go anywhere else.

I don’t think there are words to ever express how grateful I am for the expertise, creativity and kindness of Marissa. Coming to Chicago from New York for my son’s wedding I needed my hair done for both the Rehearsal Dinner and the Wedding. Marissa worked her magic and created two totally different looks. I was truly blessed by being placed in Marissa’s competent hands. Next time I’m in Chicago I will be sure to stop in to say hello!

Molly is the only hair stylist I’ve seen at this salon, but oh my she gave me vs model hair. She had a great vision on what she wanted to do with my hair and achieved it. She has a great sense of humor too where she told me to tell people I woke up like this. She is adorable!

This review is way overdue. I booked an appointment with Nicole for a hair cut(my first hair cut since moving to Chicago) and I just loved her. I found her in Allure magazine’s Best of the Best Chicago. I have wavy hair and was nervous about getting it cut too short. Nicole totally understood and was very cognizant of my concern while cutting. She gave me a perfect cut — it was just what I wanted. Nicole is also very cool and down-to-Earth. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

I have been going to Studio since 2002. I have seen a couple of colorists and stylists there due to some turnover, but have been seeing Mimi for color and Nicole for cut/style since 2010. Studio has always been good at hiring and retaining the best — I have watched many colorists/stylists come up through their training program — literally they can not touch a client(other than shampoos) for 2 years. It seems to be a tough training program but it yields great results and I have never been disappointed. Color is Mimi’s calling in life. She is just one of those people that has an eye for what color would look good and natural. I used to do a partial highlight(blonde) but have moved to baliage this year and I really like it. Baliage is more expensive but grows out a little more naturally so you don’t have to go quite as often. I always get compliments on my color. She is simply the best. Nicole does Giuliana Rancic’s hair when she is in town, so that is probably enough of an endorsement in itself. She is great with my hair cuts and does AMAZING styles and blowouts(she would be great to do a wedding party). I think this is the best salon in Chicago. Pricey perhaps, but worth it.

I came in for a change and Danielle gave me exactly what I was looking for! I am super picky and really sensitive when it comes to color. I explained what I wanted and she definitely delivered. She is a phenomenal colorist and her personality is awesome. Will definitely come back to see her.

I am so glad my friend referred me to Farrah! I have been going to a stylist in the burbs for the past few years. She is wonderful and I love her, but spending almost a full weekend day in the burbs(thanks to the Metra schedule) just to get my hair done was becoming a bit of a hassle. A friend recommended Farrah and I decided to trust her with my copper/Pepper Potts hair. I admit — I was nervous. I had tried another salon for my color a month ago and was not happy. The dye didn’t seem to take to my ends and my roots were completely different than the rest of my hair. I knew Studio 110 would be more expensive and I wanted it to be worth it. It is SO worth it. Farrah was so warm and sweet and when I showed her pictures of what I was looking for(Jessica Chastain’s color) she quickly put together a game plan. A quick dye job and gloss later, my hair looked awesome. I was so happy! Maria cut my hair and did a great job. She really listened to what I wanted and was a perfectionist. I feel so much better — my old cut was making me bored! The price wasn’t bad. Yes, it’s more expensive than what I’m used to — but not by much. I want my color and cut to look good and these women are really talented. I am definitely coming back to see Farrah and Maria — they are amazing!
