I booked a makeup application class and I worked with Jeffrey to get it set up (date, time, what we wanted to learn) for 7 girls for a birthday party this past Friday. I had looked at about 25 places in Chicago and Styles by Jeffrey was incredibly affordable, had a great location, offered everything that I was looking for, and working with Jeffrey to get it set up was so easy — he was incredibly responsive. When I arrived, they had everything set up really nicely to accommodate all of us; they had brushes and applicators for us to use; and they had makeup that we could use. Jeffrey had suggested that we also bring our own makeup and brushes so that we could learn how to use the items that we already had at home (which I loved!). They had enough help and enough equipment so that we could watch a demonstration and then practice with their feedback and assistance. Jairo, Natalie, and Jeffrey were knowledgeable, they were patient, they were fun to be around, they were accommodating to our needs /​questions, and they offered some great tips and tricks. All of us were at different levels of makeup competence and they really adapted to us and even the girls with a high level of competence walked away with a lot of new ideas. I would highly recommend using Styles by Jeffrey for any makeup application needs that you have — from a single makeup styling to a makeup class for a party. I truly cannot say enough good things about them and how much I appreciate everything that they did for us!

I lived in Lakeview but moved to San Diego now and travel back to Chicago to visit. I absolutely try to save my haircuts for when I’m back in Chicago to go to see Jeffrey. Always a great hair cut and the price is unmatched for the quality you receive. Even the last time I went he cleaned up my beard! Definitely recommend SBJ for all my hair needs.

I have never been happier with a stylist! Maria is amazing! She never steers me wrong with my cuts and color. I have a ton of compliments everywhere I go. There is no need to drive into the city for this talent, Maria has it all! I cannot say enough wonderful things about her!

I like the atmosphere of the salon – very relaxed, welcoming. The pricing and Unilocal deals also help draw in the crowds. But unfortunately at the end of the day it was an average haircut for an average price, and I will continue my search for a stylist. See, my hair is long and thin, and it takes a very special stylist to understand the needs of this kind of hair. When I left, yes my hair was shorter (the reason I went in), but it was also very greasy from the product that was used, and blow-​dried almost flat :(I am very clear with my stylists about the kinds of layers I like, and the kind of blow out I look for, but I’m not sure what didn’t translate – Jeffrey seemed well experienced and trained in the field. The layers grew out within a few weeks, and when I got home, I washed my hair immediately and styled it as I wanted, and it looked better. So all in all, if you aren’t looking to feel glamorous or learn about a new technique that could work with your hair, and are instead just looking for a straight forward no frills cut, this place is great. But I, personally, look to feel amazing when I leave the salon, anxious to show off my new hair-​do.

My recent stylist moved to a location in the loop which also resulted in an increased rate so I went to Jeffrey. After going 12 weeks without a haircut Jeffrey was able to give me the exact haircut I wanted on the first try. The whole staff are very down to earth and it was a great place to unwind after a long day of work (free beers included!). I would highly recommend Styles by Jeffrey for a great atmosphere, excellent service and very competitive rates!

Last Friday, Jeffrey cut my hair. He did just an incredible job. I couldn’t be happier with both the cut and the styling. I left feeling more confident about the way I look than I ever had after a new haircut. He was very thorough, but extremely efficient. The whole haircut took less than half an hour including the styling. The styling was on point and he walked me through how to do it at home myself as well. On top of all that, the price was very reasonable. I would recommend Jeffrey to anyone.

My haircut was great. I told Jeffrey «Just come up with something for me…» His response was, «Free reign?» Let me tell you, I couldn’t be happier. He knew all of the current ins-​and-​outs of styles and cuts. I came out looking and feeling like a million bucks. I recommend letting him coming up with something great for you!

I’ve been in the city for a few years now… have moved twice, changed dentists a couple of times, and even found a new nail salon while my favorite was being remodeled. What hasn’t changed is my stylist. I love Jeffrey, love his no-​pressure approach, and love my hair after a visit to see him. I recommend Jeffrey to anyone and everyone. I even got my husband to switch!

Had my hair cut by Jeffrey last night for the first time. I wanted to give my hairstyle an update and my regular barber just wasn’t listening to me. Jeffrey was patient, listened to what I wanted, and gave me a *great* cut. The online appointment booking was a breeze and ensured that I was able to be seen promptly without a wait. The booking service also sends out emails and texts to remind you of your appointment so if you’re busy, you still don’t forget your appt. (It was not over the top and not annoying.) I would certainly recommend Jeffrey to anyone and I’ll be going to him for my hair cuts from now on. I’m actually looking forward to the next one!

I recently moved to Lakeview and wanted to find a neighborhood salon that provided a good value and a great cut. I scheduled an appointment with Jeffrey online and am very pleased with the result! He listened to what I wanted, provided feedback, and was very informative about how I can improve the health of my hair as well as my overall styling techniques. Overall, the entire process was relaxing, educational, and positive. I will definitely be going back! Great haircut, great service! Jeffrey is awesome.

I’ve been looking for a good salon and was overall pretty impressed with this place. I made an appointment for a Saturday afternoon but realized I could come in earlier and was able to push my appointment ahead by almost two hours. It was very quiet but the stylist was great! I can’t remember her name but she was very friendly! I also got to use the Unilocaldeal which was awesome! I will definitely have to go back!

Leaving a hair stylist is like going through a breakup. Whether or not it was your idea, you feel like a piece of you is missing long after ways are parted. For a long while after, every hair salon and hair stylist is compared to your old, and you decide that no one will ever live up to your old stylist.
And then one day, it all changes.
Since moving to Chicago in 2011, I’ve been bouncing around from salon to salon, unable to really find a stylist whose work I loved. Sure there are a ton of talented stylists in Chicago, but I wasn’t able to find a salon that I would be willing to make repeat trips to.
That all changed on March 29^th. I walked into Styles by Jeffrey with hair that was long overdue for a good cut. Jeffrey made suggestions, took the time to really look at what he was working with, educated me about the products I was using, gave me affordable alternatives, and I left with one hell of a fantastic haircut.
I made a mention about thinking about going a bit lighter for Spring/​Summer and both Jeffrey AND Erin took the time to look at my hair and make suggestions on what could be done to lighten without completely destroying my hair. Naturally, I booked an appointment with Erin and am counting down the days until I can be back.
Styles by Jeffrey just goes to show you that you don’t need to spend $ 80 on a haircut to get an amazing look, fantastic service, and a little bit of education thrown in.

As every girl knows it is hard to find a hairstylist. Well I found my at Styles by Jeffrey. Her name is Erin. She was up to date with all the latest fashion and hair trends. Erin was also very knowledgeable on the products. I love my hair and give Erin 5 stars I will be back :)

Finding a great hairstylist is a B***tch! Jeffrey is a great find.
I have been with Jeffrey for several years now and never a bad haircut. He will ask how you want the cut and do it — just right.
His loft salon is located in the Wrigleyville area. For me, it’s a great walk to the salon or if I feel lazy, the Clark Street bus stop is half-​block away.
His rates are very reasonable. He also sends out via Facebook notices if is getting booked up — great way to plan ahead.
