I’m surprised to see all these negative reviews. Tonight was my first time at this location, and I received excellent service! I was a little ashamed(as a service industry worker myself) that I did two industry faux pas: 1. I came in 5 minutes before close and 2. I dictated an order for the person I was on the phone with the whole time. If Mike was annoyed, he didn’t show it. In fact, he was super friendly and upbeat. Plus he made us yummy sandwiches. Definitely will come back here.

Woman who took my order charged a dollar extra and didn’t give me a receipt — curious, because she gave the 2 other people I was with receipts and charged them correctly. Sandwich was also wrapped poorly and came apart. Do not come here if you don’t want to be ripped off with a poorly made ‘wich.

My good old neighborhood Subway. This location is clean and the food is always fine — no encounters with slimy deli meat, brown lettuce, or anything of the like. Worst complaint would be the occassional underripe tomato(but doesn’t every Subway do that sometimes? and WHY?). They are never overly crowded and they even have a cute little patio with potted plants and tables out on the sidewalk(temporarily not there due to Lawrence construction). Never too crowded and they are efficient enough. They sometimes seem to not charge me the current promotions like last week I went in on Sunday and they didn’t give me the two footlongs for $ 5 promo that was in the window. But they sometimes run promos that aren’t national ones and the staff is mostly very friendly, so can’t complain.

They sent someone to put flyers on car windshields in the neighborhood and it is now glued to the windshield… a lousy way to attract customer.

This Subway is… THEBOMB. Michael, the gentleman behind the counter making my sandwich was probably the nicest person I’ve ever met. Actually I take that back, I’ve met nicer people, but Michael is up there. He provided great customer service and even gave me tips on where to park so that I won’t get ticketed. Did you know that the City of Chicago made $ 53 million dollars last year in traffic violations/tickets alone? Michael from Subway told me that. =)

Food was alright — what you would expect from a run of the mill Subways. Service(I wish I had kept my receipt so I knew her name!) was terrible. Shockingly bad.

Its subway so you know what to expect when you walk in the door. But here you should expect to get ignored by the employees who are usually to busy take your order. They seem friendly just doesnt seem to be with me when I walk in. Usually just want to get a sand witch and then head out. On two occasions Ive had to go in the back to find them talking and also basically ask if there still open as there all sitting around talking to friends who have stopped by. If you just want a sand witch its the usual subway but if you don’t want to come in and beg to order than have to repeat yourself 5 times then this is your place. If it hadn’t been raining would have walked the extra mile round trip to go to Jimmy Johns…

Ok, it is a Subway. Standard fare and standard expectations. I don’t expect anything special, no frills, or any special decorations. I do expect cleanliness, polite employees, fresh food and fast service. This Subway hits all of those notes on the dot. Because I don’t eat cheese, please don’t look at me funny when I say no cheese. They don’t. When I ask for eight tomato slices, just put them on the sandwiches with no comments. They do. You keep the toppings covered, you are wearing gloves. Thank you. Each time I come in they are polite, I occasionally get a free cookie and I always get a smile. Looking for something else? Go somewhere else.

I see the bad reviews here and can only assume that ownership has recently changed hands. I’ve been to this Subway a few times in the past few months and the man working(maybe the local owner?) is always super friendly and helpful. They have fresh basil that they grow themselves and everything is always clean and fresh. He also gives out coupons and I’ve received a few free cookies as well. It’s my favorite Subway in a city that only has about four billion of them.

Terrible customer service!!! They had the music really loud and I guess the girl didn’t hear what I said, instead of «excuse me» she literally shouted«HAH?» at my face. I’ve been to many other Subways and many other fast food places but I think today’s experience at this location was pretty much the worst, or second to last. I got a chicken sandwich and the chicken tastes a little funny. I hope I don’t get sick.

I wish there was a zero stars option. I will NEVER go back to THIS Subway. If you work at a Subway, the FIRST thing you should know as an employee is what the various toppings and sauces are. The guy making our sandwich was not only dimwitted, but rude about it. He LITERALLY had to pick up EVERY single sauce and ask(gesture…I don’t think he spoke directly to us) if it was what we were asking for — - MUSTARD. He didn’t know which one was MUSTARD. ATSUBWAY. Pretty basic, no? It took him nearly 10 minutes to build two very basic sandwiches, the cashier was rude, the place was empty, and I’m never, ever, ever going back to this Subway location. WHYBOTHER?

Here are the facts: A) I’ve been home with a newborn for the last two weeks, only leaving the house a few times because it’s so freakin’ cold outside. Therefore, I’ve had minimal exposure to the outside world. B) my friend offered to bring me lunch when she came to see our new baby. I requested Subway and directed her to this location because it’s near our house. C) within about 24 – 36 hours of eating that Subway, I got violently ill. D) my friend also got violently ill after consuming her sandwich. E) neither my husband, nor her boyfriend nor my baby became ill which leads me to believe it was not a contagious disease. My mother and elderly grandmother also came to see us later that same day and neither of them got sick. These facts have all led me to be absolutely convinced I got food poisoning from this location. I’m very, very reluctant to point fingers when it comes to food poisoning because it’s so difficult to pinpoint exactly where the illness came from. But because no one else I was exposed to got sick besides my friend who also ate at Subway, I’m convinced. Lemme tell you… being violently ill with food poisoning while home alone with a 2 week old baby really, really, REALLY sucks and I will never step foot into this location again. I might end up swearing off all Subway sandwiches forever… that’s how traumatic the last two days have been. Avoid.

This Subway is great! They make sandwiches really fast and neat. Please sell soup in the summer…

This is not just any Subway. This one has cilantro. And it’s the closest(of the 43) within a mile from my place. This Subway FTW. Also, my guy Dan Mega lives right above it. Say hi to Dan the Man for me. They must lose just one star because they gave me the business about a coupon that was written sloppily and I had to argue semantics with them. I’ll be back, though; back for the cilantro… *gallops off into the sunset*

So since no one had written a review for this particular 1 of 23,491 Subway locations in the Chicagoland area, I figured I’d chime in. Had lunch there today and it’s always consistently decent. The thing I kinda dig about this one is that they’ve got cilantro, four kinds of cheese, and avocado regularly available(whereas many of the slightly more hoody locations don’t offer those options). The staff is what I’m guessing is a pretty nice family of folk, the spot’s always clean, and in the summer it’s not uncommon to see the baseball games being broadcast from a little tv on top of the cooler(which is kinda nice even though I Loathe the Cubs). Also, today they were offering free Iced Tea just because they got a new machine and wanted to hear peoples opinions. :) Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not a HUGE Subway junkie or anything… but as Subway’s go, this one is decent… that’s why i’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars on the«Subway Specific» scale.
