I tried this place today because my friend is doing a foodie tour for her business and this place was recommended. When she described the place and said it was located in a grocery store I almost didn’t believe this was the place. But I must say that the steak tacos here were very tender and seasoned well.

This is the best taco place! If you want tacos this is the place to go. They are pacos tacos inside this little supermarket. Towards the back of the store. They only sell tacos and beverages. But they are so good! I never want to go anywhere else for tacos.

I know that everybody has a favorite, and that everybody has a «best tacos» place.
PACOS TACOS, is inside the a small mexican supermarket, they have 2 other locations, not nearly as good as this one.
When the person taking my order DOESN’T ASK me if I want lettuce, tomatoes or cheese on my tacos, I know that we are off to a good start!!!
This is an authentic TAQUERíA, which means you sit at a bar around the flat tops, and your tacos are served ONLY with ONIONS and CILANTRO, that lettuce, tomatoes, cheese or sour cream B.S. doesn’t fly here (and any self respecting mexican knows that thats how u eat your tacos!!! lol).
Alright, lets start with the not so good:
I dont really care for the chicken, its just alright.
Chile relleno tacos are good, Lengua is just average, some times is not good, and if u mess up lengua as a cook, not good, cause its a very simple meat to cook.
Barbacoa is good, not a big fan of it anywhere.
Carnitas are good, but Im not a fan of carnitas tacos either, if Im eating carnitas it better be on a plate.
The runner up: Chicharron tacos: best chicharron in town, they have both, red and green, I prefer the red one… its hot when it goes in, hotter when it comes out, lol, so be careful.
The five star item: CARNE ASADA TACOS!!! I was born and raised in México, it kinda hurts to admit that, not even there I’ve had better asada tacos than in this place, let alone in Chicago.
The meat is high quality Skirt Stake (arrachera), cooked to perfection on a flat top, and they only use 2 ingredients to season it, if u go there, you’ll see what those 2 ingredients are.
Overall, good place to eat, best asada tacos in town, oh, I almost forgot, they’re not afraid to throw meat in your tacos… these tacos are huge, and served like they’re supposed to, just ONION AND CILANTRO!!!
PS: I wish they had AL PASTOR tacos, they’d be the bomb!

I have to admit I was hesitant at first about coming here for authentic taco’s due to the sketchy areas near this place. There were a fairly large parking lot for shopping here but the area was not lit so I decided to street park.
The only lines I saw was the people buying groceries and no lines for taco’s yet possibly due to the time we went which was a little past normal dinner times (after 7pm). I ordered a trio of beef tacos to try, they gave me a ticket and I sat down. 10 minute and they called my number which was in Spanish and since I was the only person without any food — they assumed right.
Have to admit, each taco had a generous portion of meat and was actually pretty good, so good I had to order another trio. Each taco was $ 2.60 and lime was $.25.
Highly recommend this place.

HANDS DOWN The best steak tacos in the CITY OF CHICAGO. I get 3 – 4 steak tacos cilantro only with lime. Dabble some green sauce and a hint of salt and your good to go. The key to this place is they make everything fresh right in front of you! I go here whenever I get the opportunity, which is not often, but even the thought of these tacos makes my mouth water. Seriously best tacos EVER. Fresh. You can only get cilantro and onion on your tacos so don’t ask for anything else! The other key to this place is beating the lunch crowd. Getting there at about 11 has always worked for me. You may have to wait in a small line but its totally worth it. Also the seating can be tricky but these are the kind of tacos you have to eat there, not take them to go. I have only eaten them fresh inside! Trust me you will not be disappointed. I LOVE THIS PLACE. Manny was hands down one of the best cooks too. Not sure if he still works there, the last few times I have gone I have not seen him!

As tacos should be.
Steak meat that is fresh, tender, charred, and salted well. Tortillas fresh from the area. Good portions. Good salsas. Seemed clean. Very packed.
This place is more local, probably doesn’t see too many «outsiders» being that it is in the back of a grocery store… It is the type of taco spot that many in the area know about but outsiders would think they’re just passing by a small «supermarcado».
The place itself could use some upgrades and care (main reason for a star off).
A plus+ They have a parking lot.
Excellent taco… This is what you get when you get fresh meat, good salting, great cooking on a hot flat top, and it’s gets all put together with a nice, fresh, chewy tortilla… Topped with fresh cilantro & onions.
Don’t forget that squeeze of fresh lime and a drench of salsa buenisimo.

This place is always busy, but ridiculously busy on weekends!
I like to call with my order and then go pick it up. But their tacos are a must! They’re not greedy with the (super tender and moist) meat and don’t mind putting the other ingredients on the side (cilantro and onions). Green salsa is the way to go!

Do yourself a favor and get here about 9:30 am. You’ll be able to snag a seat at the counter and watch how the magic happens. The grill is meticulously cleaned. The meat is placed on the grill and seasoned with salt and loads of lemon juice. The expert cooks shuffle it around and chop it up until it is perfectly done. Soft, warm corn tortillas are then loaded with meat, onions and cilantro and served piping hot. Add a few squirts of fresh lime, a little salt and the green sauce. Heaven on a plate.

South side of Chicago is the sh*t when it comes to cheap eats. On the corner of Ashland and 46^th., «Supermercado La Internacional» is the Back of Yards neighborhood represent for their working-​class tacos!
Yes, head all the way to the back. There’s a taqueria and all tacos are made-​to-​order. By the way, this place is BUSY, but Rosa J. and hubby were able to spot two (2) stool seats by the cashier.
Most patrons speak fluently Spanish, so was my Italian hubby. There’s no shyness if you want good food. The cashier and cooks were friendly and helpful regardless what language you choose to communicate.
Hubby and I consumed four (4) carne asada, one (1) lengua, one (1) pollo, two (2) orders of horchata. The total was $ 18.60. Since the cost of living in the city of Chicago has elevated drastically due to that never-​ending increase of tax, dinner for two (2) under $ 20 is considered reasonable.
These tacos were amazing! The portion of well-​seasoned meat was abundant in each taco. Based on other Unilocal reviews, they recommended «dine-​in» instead of «carry-​out,» for a significant difference with the amount of meat. While I couldn’t scientifically validate this hypothesis, I «eye-​balled» some of the to-​go orders and concluded that some Unilocalers’ observations leading to formulate such hypothetical statement could speculatively be true.
Their free parking lot is quite tight and cramped, so hubby opted for paid street parking on 46^th. If you want to «cheat,» make sure that the meter guys are enjoying their tacos while you’re doing the same. Run out the door and pretend that you’re moving your vehicle whenever they are done eating.
Really though, just pay four (4) quarters for a 30-​minute parking. «With great tacos comes great honesty.»

Best Tacos in all of Chicago. Hands down. I grab a few of these then head up to Stanleys on 43^rd and grab a drink after. YOU CANT GO WRONG!

Man these tacos are sooooo good! The meat is so tender and moist. They often give you a big portion if you dine in. The line for tacos is always usually long but it’s worth the wait! Have been coming here since I was little and they never fail at making tacos!

Finally found my go-​to taco spot thanks to my friend. Haven’t had tacos this good since living in Mexico.
Chose anything. There is no bad taco here. The bulk of many orders might be for their infamous barbacoa, a succulent shredded beef version that stewed to perfection. The sabor (flavor) is so good that they’re almost addicting. The lengua is also very tasty, enough to a point where it’s just as good as any in the city.
Most of the time they come out so hot I have to wait for them to cool down before diving in. Of course you’ve gotta go with corn tortillas. My favorite two meats are the pastor and lengua. Both are oh so tender. The tacos kinda just melt in your mouth. Hands down the best part is the green salsa, but all salsas are that good too. Spicy, flavorful, but not overpowering. Finish your tacos off with a stack of cilantro and a squeeze of lime and bam — welcome to heaven.
Warning. because their so cheap and so good you might be tempted to eat more than you can handle. Three would be enough for most people. Cash only.

Hands down the best tacos you will find anywhere in the city. You would never know such by entering this place and it is a hidden gem. The carne asada is well seasoned and tasty. The tacos are huge and you get what you pay for. Definitely eating here again. The tacos here are better than Atotonilco or Zacatacos…

Tacos are great but they don’t follow direction well. You have to be extremely specific when you order! Clearly said no cilantro on 2 tacos and instead they made them all plain. It was so disappointing because I was looking forward to the cilantro and onion on my tacos. Probably best if you eat them there instead of taking them to go :(AND I ordered in Spanish!!!

When it comes to tacos in Chicago this is the spot! I don’t have words to describe how good the steak tacos are! The steak is so well seasoned and so juicy. Squeeze the lime they give you on it and your mouth will be watering. And they pile the steak on too! Definitely get your money’s worth here! The chicken tacos are great also. They are both topped with onions and cilantro. I’m getting hungry just writing this! The Mexican guys I work with took me there for lunch one day and I’ve been hooked ever since. They even had me try this Chile Relleno (pepper stuffed w/​cheese) which at first did not look appealing, but was very good! This place is a must try. Try to eat in the store if possible. They give you a much more generous helping of steak on your tacos than if you get them to go. I took mine to go once and my tacos had about half the amount of steak as usual.

Wow! These tacos though!
They are loaded, whatever you decide to get, steak (asada), carnitas, etc. The Steak is very tender and tasty, I recommend them. they have so much goodness in them, I’m a fan of the green salsa.
I am so glad that I was recommended this place by a fellow co-​worker, its a great lunch spot if you can get out of the office or happen to be in the area. I love picking up some tacos from here.

I look forward to eating these tacos again from the moment I walk out the door! The steak tacos are the best things I’ve ever tasted, ¹⁰⁄₁₀. People leaving the four star reviews might as well be committing a crime! The environment is super fun, being crammed in the back of a grocery store with a bunch of friendly Mexicans eating the world’s best tacos is how I would spend every meal if I could!

You wouldn’t be able to tell that some of the best tacos, in the universe, are made inside of this small grocery and convenience store. The steak tacos are the most wonderful thing that your money can buy. ¹⁰⁄₁₀. Would eat here again, and again, and again. In fact, I’ve had it two days in a row now… For breakfast. No regrets.

If you like any of the other Paco’s tacos, then you will love this one. It is the best Paco’s and the original.
Huge tacos, mmmm carnitas, asada and chile rellenos, all really good.
It is located inside inside on the back of a small grocery store, but don’t let that stop you. Or the long lines On the weekend (it is always crowded on the weekends).
I used to work around here many years ago and I would always take them to go, and on the way out I would get an avocado (they have some good avocados in here).
They are fast and nice.
