Its a small market with few Brazilian products… at first it looks like a liquor store, but they have guaraná, farofa, café pilão, polvilho e catupiry. In addition, the cashier was extremely helpful.

Poor selection. Found out the tortillas I purchased were moldy when I got home. Close your doors already.

We were excited to see the Brazilian flag on the sign, but upon entering only saw a very limited supply of Brazilian products. The man there said the were sold out after Easter; we will try again later.

My go to place for Brazilian products… They have guarana and pao de queijo – enough said!

A nice neighborhood shop with a good, not great beer selection. The prices are good for a corner shop and it really wins for me in that it is around the corner from my buddies house.

This was my neighborhood market when I lived in Bucktown where I would find myself visiting this store on a daily basis. I never really bought any Brazilian or South American products besides the Brazilian soda but they did have a decent deli that kept me coming back in for more.

This is a good place to go for Brazilian products. It has more variety than other similar stores with reasonable prices overall(a couple products, however, are way too expensive). Close to Pepe’s you can also find Brasil Legal, a Brazilian market, and Danny’s, a Mexican supermarket with fresh(and very good!) «picanha», the best Brazilian meat cut.

As a result of my move last week, Pepe’s is officially my new corner store. I’m pretty happy about that. They seem to specialize in South American groceries, especially dry goods. They had some small areas for produce, etc., as well. I’m really looking forward to picking up some stuff from here and trying to teach myself how to cook South American food. I was also very pleasantly surprised by the beer selection. They had a lot of rather eclectic South American beers(including Xingu!), and I was happy to see 4 different styles from New Belgium and 3 from Brooklyn Brewery. Not nearly the selection I had at Vas Foremost by my old apartment, but this will satisfy me for now!
