My father and I went here for lunch a couple years ago and we soon realized it was a big mistake. First of all, the tacos here are literally about the size of the palm of your hand. Second, the meat in the tacos was burnt to the point where it didn’t even taste like meat anymore. And third, the price of the food is bs, for the same price I can get a real taco and a very good tasting one at Paco’s Tacos(which is located on 60-something Pulaski. In conclusion, I don’t really recommend this place to anyone, unless you like burnt meat.

I also don’t understand the one star reviews unless someone got burned here. I’ve been going to this place scores of times since it opened(the site used to be a Jr’s hot dogs in the 80s). I’ve never had a bad experience. The food is fresh and cooked in front of you. The staff is friendly. The food is tasty. The meat is not rubbery. The selection is good. The horchata is flavourful. The salsa is top 10 in the area. What more do you want? This place is very good, even with all the other options on the So side.

Wow one reviewer out of five loves this dump and he gets all whiny, OK so maybe you’re not a liar but instead a person with horrible taste in Mexican food.

It seems they do not pay attention on taking orders at all. Five times I had to reorder because they kept making mistakes. Either they brought me my burrito with sour cream when I didn’t ask for, or brought it with chicken instead of steak, or brought the wrong drink. I was fed up with it that I just left without any regards to let them rectify themselves. Never again should I step foot into here. Disaster of a business. Should have read the reviews on here prior to going.

Aww man… I thought this would be my first«first» review, if that makes sense. Probably not. Also, I’m not hispanic but, Taqueria el Taco makes no sense to me, «taco reastaurant the taco?» plus the addition of English«To Go» ?? I’m at a loss for words here. Anyway, I’ve gotten delivery from this place a couple times because its near the hospital where I’m at. 1st time: «holy crap, they have a TWOFOOT burrito? Let’s get that» About 5 pounds of steak and beans, not much else, but hey, it didn’t give me or my burrito partner diarrhea so thumbs up with that experience 2nd time: TETTG: «Sorry we’re closed» Me: «Really? because your take out menu says you’re open till 10» TETTG: «We’re closing early. Sorry its been really hard because of the economy» Me: «Really? Because We’re about to PAY you for food» TETTG: «Hold on let me talk to my manager… ok, we’ll take your order» We get the order and everything is TERRIBLE, slopped together, soggy mess, tasted bad I DIDN’T FINISHMYFOOD I ALWAYSFINISHMEXICANFOOD! So I dunno, we kinda feel bad for the place and some of our staff has liked the food from there, but it was just horrendous that one time, so I can’t give them Unilocal Love. Sorry TETTG
