This is a great neighborhood bar. Owners of Commonwealth just south in Roscoe Village, they opened Little Fort a couple years ago. Completely renovating the old dump the bar used to be, it’s obvious they put a lot of time and effort into the place. The food is solid and the beers are great. The owner Mike is frequently around and the bartender Jackie is great. They have euchre leagues, trivia and a ridiculously awesome brunch on Saturday and Sunday’s. Lots of TV’s, too. You’ll always get whatever game you want to see. You guys should all support this place!

We have been here twice and have not been disappointed. They have great food and decent prices. It tends to be a little empty, but it’s in a location with several other bar and grills that have been around a little longer. If you are in the area and feeling in the mood for some good pub food, don’t pass this place up! Prices: Specialty drinks around $ 8 Beer: average prices Food: around 10 – 15

I’ve liked the place the few times I’ve been there but we just got kicked out because the bartender«had to get up early in the morning». So sorry to interrupt your life dude. Won’t be coming back.

Came all the way from California just to get kicked out cause staff double booked with a high school reunion and still had the nerve to lie and use scare tactics stating the cops shut them down… 100+ Raiders crowd come from all over this great nation; took our money and kicked us out…

We have spent so many Saturday’s at Little Fort watching the Hawkeyes play this season. Matt always does a funny raffle at halftime filled with random Hawkeye trinkets and debauchery. They let you reserve tables for groups ahead of time and they have a great little patio with heaters for when it’s a little chilly. Also, the nachos rule.

Little Fort is a great neighborhood bar. They seemed to have spent the last few months refining their menu by giving more options and lowering some of the costs. Its great! They offer different selections than a lot of the other local bars. This bar is a bar for the true sports fans. I have been here for Cardinals baseball as well as the Super Bowl, and its been so much fun each time. The service here is AWESOME! We have never had a bad experience whether it was wall to wall people or just us in the bar. The waitresses and bartenders are very friendly and attentive. I find that the décor is odd and slightly forced, but everyone I have taken there loves it. Nonetheless, if you are looking for a dependable neighborhood bar with great food and large beer selection come here! Get the cheese curds!

Well I finally got into this building for a drink after trying for years to get here when the place was a German bar but it was always closed when I attempted and the other day I got this place on Lincoln Avenue finally. The bar was really gorgeous inside with all sorts of cool décor and a Native American totem pole. They spent some dough in here and the beer was great. The only problem was the, ace was totally deader than a door nail as I was the only person in the bar. I recommend to neighborhood people to give this place a try and support it. A great bar and service.

Came here for the Iowa football game and had a blast. Drove in from the suburbs and will do it again gladly. First off, the bartenders and servers are genuinely pleasant and friendly. Never had to wait a second for beer or food, and the place was full. The food was actually pretty darn good-just what I wanted for a football game viewing. We met a ton of nice folks in their mid 20’s to early 40’s – maybe it was the Iowa connection but everyone was fun to be with. The crowd was great, and the owner – hilarious! I felt like I was at a true tavern of the old days where the tavern owner wanted everyone to have an amazing time. We did. We will definitely be back. It was easy to park on the side street. The prices were reasonable. The bathroom was clean. Check, check, check. Oh, and the drinks were all a good fair pour – sat right by the bar so watched lots of orders being made. The high top and bar stools seating were comfortable. The décor is different, in a good way – not just a mish mash of neon beer signs, but sort of a blacksmith shop feel like someone gave some real thought to it. The windowed sides open up so on a pretty day, you still get the nice fresh outdoor feel.

This place definitely deserves a little more credit. We live in the neighborhood and have been when it’s dead and when it’s packed. We’ve gotten the same, good service on every occasion. The staff is always really friendly and really accommodating. As for drinks, the beer list is expansive enough that anyone could could find something they like, and my boyfriend’s Jameson and ginger ales were well made and easily priced.

Good place to hang out, decent food and beers… food is a little pricey especially when u order a $ 12 burger and get up charged 50 cents for mayo!! kinda penny pinching if u ask me especially as I declined cheese which was already included on the price. aside from that the staff are friendly and the TV set up is actually decent… will definitely be back!

I actually like this bar and wish I could rate it higher. It’s a great neighborhood spot with really good food. My husband is iowa alum so we have gone to watch college football and always had a good time. BUT the past three times we have gone, on a weekend, they have had private parties. Super annoying. We went to sit out on the awesome back patio to watch the cubs and suddenly realized we were crashing some private fundraiser. Awkward. They were really nice about it and we stayed and had the beer I had already purchased but it was weird. No sign, nothing saying It was closed. The last time we went to watch the blackhawks playoffs and got turned away. So, as a bar the little fort is pretty good. But for now it seems like they are a private venue.

Food: Food is very overpriced but so is Rocks across the street. They said they wanted it to be a upscale bar food menu, they failed bad at that. Burritos, blts, burgers, nachos, etc are not upscale bar food. food is ok but nothing special and for sure over priced. Looks: inside is nice with a cabin feel, feels forced but still is nice. The worst part about this place(besides the overpriced not really god food) is how terrible it looks outside. Even dive bars have some sort of cohesion. Two different kinds of exposed brick, rustic wood paneling, brown stucco, white stucco hahahah… I count LITERALLY5 different facades. It’s like they want it to look like a piece of junk. To make it worse they are opening thier beer garden and only put wood panels half way up the side of the house behind it hahahaha so it’s wood panels about 12 feet then grey panels the rest of the 20 – 30 feet. I actually think with the front and the back they think people do not look up! I guess the outside is not that important but if you can’t even get the face of your business right and take short cuts on everything from the out side… what short cuts are you taking inside. Staff: Girls are nice and friendly. the guys seem nice but are so all over the place and random it. All in all do not recommend and it’s disappointing. To me and my opinion is worthless but to me it feels like a bunch of late 90s/2000s meathead lazy bartenders and bar managers opened a bar and took as many short cuts they could. Commonwealth took forever to open but at least it’s finished, nice. Wish the bar looked as nice as the website did.

I like the woodsy-forty-interior, but it was nice enough outdoors to sit outside in their small patio area(first outdoor eating of 2015!). They have maybe 5 outdoor tables in their patio section — not huge, but the tables are a decent size for groups of 4−5… We had a few beers and a casual dinner here over the weekend. My second beer tasted off; perhaps some kind of soapy residue… I ordered the grilled cheese and I enjoyed it. It had poblanos, chihuahua cheese, arepa, and was served with a cup of dipping tomato sauce. Yummy. $ 12, but no fries came with it — what’s up wit dat? Nice waitress & relatively quick service.

Little fort? More like Great Fort! Cozy bar with friendly bartenders and staff. Good draft beer selection and cocktail specials. Live music every Friday. The staff is fantastic and really completes the neighborhood feel. Love some Little Fort!

This was a new business in our neighborhood so we wanted it to succeed. They did a lot of remodeling and the large windows are a big plus. Yet the exterior seems ran down and unfinished and the inside of the Little Fort smelled like the old fort. They claimed they wanted to be upscale bar food but it was fair at best and I don’t know where the upscale part is? It may be a neighborhood place where you can catch a beer, some chips and a game but the quality of the food and the ambiance are lacking. Despite wanting the new businesses in our neighborhood to thrive, this one is just lacking and disappointing on many levels. Didn’t get the Little Fort thing and there was nothing to carry that theme through the bar. Interior design was like you were in your dad’s basement.

Good place. Not fancy but not pretentious. Food was good. Drinks were good. Service was quite attentive, especially as about 25 of us randomly walked in rather early on a Thursday evening. They do trivia nights.

Really nice new bar. It has a cool rustic feel with all wood inside. Perfect for the cold evening we visited. Service was great, staff was prompt and friendly. They had a nice beer list, lot of local crafts including Begyle brewery which is located nearby. The missing star is because of the lack of specials. They had one beer on special, otherwise most were 5 – 7 $. Would recommend this bar for almost any occasion, they had a lot of TVs and sports on, but also had a live musician. Will be back.

Very disappointed. I live on the block and was waiting for this place to open for months. Tried it 3 times to give it the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately I will not be back. First off, the interior is lacking. Mismatched barstools and chunky wood tables and chairs more suited to a Mexican restaurant. I was hoping for something more upscale, but this place is just another sports bar. The food is what nailed the coffin. First time in I ordered the grilled caesar. I love caesar salad, it’s one of my favorites. The best part of a caesar is the dressing, right? Well… The over-charred lettuce overpowered everything on the plate so all I tasted was burned lettuce. It was kinda slimy too. Second time I ordered the steak sandwich. It was pretty good actually. I was encouraged to go again thinking my first visit was a fluke. Third time, I ordered the Steak sandwich again and my husband ordered the lamb burger. Both were burned and dry. Char is one thing. I love char, but burned something different. It’s a mouth full of charcoal. Anyway…despite living a few feet away, will not be back.

Cardinals bar in north center. Always have great beer deals & about to try their food. Only 4 stores because of food places, but I guess their concept is farm to plate. Went here during cardinals playoffs so it was a blast. Bartenders are so nice & so is the staff. Fun bar!

It’s a bar. A good bar. A very good bar, even. If you’re reading this and it’s not baseball season, then you’ll want to know that the place has a small, but interesting menu, it’s very clean and the staff is friendly. If it’s between April and October and you’re reading this? Well, it’s a STL Cardinals(and Iowa Hawkeyes) bar. So if you’re a fan, and you want to go to meet up with like minded individuals? Go here.
