Great service, had chocolate covered beacon for the first time and it was amazing. We ordered a cake for a baptism and it was reasonably priced and it was very delicious, everyone loved it. The owner was a very nice. We will defiantly be ordering from here in the future…

This is a tiny,(most likely family owned) friendly and cute bakery. The owner was so sweet, and helpful. I purchased the popular butter cookies, and they were so delicious! They reminded me of my childhood school treats. She’s quite the talented one. They also make cakes, and other tasty pastries. Highly recommended!

There are a lot of bakeries in our neighborhood(Garfield Ridge) but nothing compares to the cakes you will get from The Cake Walk. The whipped cream is out of this world, tastes almost like ice cream. The cake layers are so fresh and delicious every time that it’s worth the drive to get their cakes. I highly recommend this bakery for any occasion, you will not be disappointed.

Amazing cakes! Not the most artistic decorations, so keep it simple. Never been disappointed

The whip cream cake is to die for. I’ve been coming here for years and just thought I should give it 5 stars.

Decided to try the CPS butter cookies that other Unilocalers are raving about. When I got there I was met with very friendly service. Even though my children were touching everything(not the goodies, of course). The woman at the counter was very patient and understanding. So yeah they are the best. While there I decided to buy there cupcakes, double chocolate cake and the pumpkin pie. Everything looked so good and the prices were very reasonable, also. I tasted the chocolate cupcake with strawberry frosting and let me tell you it actually tasted like chocolate cake and strawberry frosting. The other cupcake was the meringue I believe not to sure since I did not ask what flavor it is. But it totally tasted like lemon to me very fresh and moist. I gotta order cupcakes from this place in the future and if there cupcakes are any indication of the cakes than I gotta order cakes, too. The double chocolate cake is so good. I right away compared prices with Sam’s chocolate cake and it is the same. The butter cookies are very good and so I am a very happy customer. I finally found a place with real flavors instead of generic ones.

UGH! This place is soooo good and not that easy for me to get to! I wish it were closer to me(or do I as I would probably get heavy!). Keep up the good work — cakes and cookies are delish! Love the Cake Walk and the owner, Mary Jane, is very nice. They have been around for a long time and I have had their wedding cakes, strawberry cakes, peanut butter cookies(sooo very good!) and their filled cakes — NEVER been disappointed! So worth the drive(20 minutes for me, not that bad) and price(more expensive than Sams but in line with other bakeries and really — Sams cakes do not feel or taste the way their cakes do so yes, real butter and real sugar and made fresh to order will cost a little more and you will not be disappointed. Walk over to the original Cake Walk in Chicago!

So I was told to get my daughter’s 2nd Birthday cake from this place because it blows all others out of the water, we were going to do a simple cake from a small bakery around the corner from us, So glad we came to this place. Owner was phenomenal and we ordered a half sheet thinking more people would show instead of the 18 that showed, needless to say everyone left with a very good flavor in their mouth and ranted and raved about how good the cake was and everyone took home a giant hunk of Audreys happy 2nd Caillou Birthday Cake… Thank You and I have a bakery for life…(still cant wait to try that Pistachio cake) PS if your going to leave a comment about how great the butter cookies are, you really should leave more than 3 or 3.5 stars, in my opinion 3 stars means average… this place is a 5 star establishment!

3.5 stars Came here because I was craving the butter cookies they served us during the CPS elementary school years. Everyone claims to know the recipe, but I am not a cook/baker by any means, and didn’t have the patience to try and make them on my own. The Cake Walk is a very small establishment located between a pizza place and another store, so don’t fret if you don’t see it when driving by… it’s there. There were a variety of pastries and cookies inside that all looked tasty, but my mind was focused on the butter cookie… and what a huge cookie it was(not to mention reasonably priced for .99 cents)! The lady behind the counter(her mom was a CPS cafeteria worker who knew the proper recipe) was very nice and friendly. I took the cookie home to warm it up, and it was actually pretty good and close to how I remembered them tasting as a kid. It had more of a shortbread butter taste instead of just butter, but still good nonetheless(especially with a glass of milk). Glad I found this place for my CPS butter cookie cravings, which I am glad aren’t often due to how loaded in fat they are lol!

I stopped in here today and picked up a piece of tiramisu for under $ 4. It was definitely the best I’ve had. The owner was also very nice, check it out if you get a chance!

Everytime I order a cake from The Cake Walk for one of my kids birthdays, I ALWAYS get someone asking me «Where did you get the cake from, it is so good!» Now it’s at a point where I’ll get a phone call from my MIL or SIL asking me to order a cake for ‘so and so’s’ birthday. I have to admit, I have the number programed into my cell phone! LOL Not only are the cakes yummy, but the brownies, the cookies, oh my. It seriously doesn’t help my weight loss situation. The prices for the cakes(and there are all different sizes) are really reasonable too. In fact, for my last daughter’s baptism, I ordered 2 cakes. The owner of the store is almost always there and she is super friendly and so sweet, along with the other lady working with her. I always come out of that place smiling!
