Very entertaining to watch people dance on the pole, alot of creepers here though!

I hate going to Rush and Division, but my friend always ends up dragging me here at the end of the night! The Loft would have to be the only place I somewhat like. Why? Because everytime I’ve gone here, the music was pretty good and by that point of the night, I’m at a good state so I don’t really care. The crowd is diverse and people are actually dancing. I know they have some cheap drink specials as well.

Most bars card for a minimum age of 21. Patrons of The Loft should card themselves as well. If you are over age 23, give yourself serious pause before deciding whether to go or not. The lower level is a general sports bar with cheap drinks and very attentive bartenders. I had a great time downstairs. Upstairs, it is a MESS. The first thing I saw when I came in was some random guy getting a lapdance in a gross old couch. Both parties involved appeared to be already hammered. And in that respect, that may be the way to go. The place is not terrible, IF you have the right group of friends, and are blasted beyond all recognition. The bartenders upstairs will ignore you, the DJ does not take requests(videos are synched to the music and mixed ahead of time, which really makes me wonder why they have a DJ at all). The clientele is mostly hammered birthday and bachelorette parties, which I suppose is good for meeting new people with natural conversation openers, but do you really want a conversation with the bride-to-be on her 9th shot of tequila? Look, if you’re 22 and you’re fresh out of school and think places along Division Street are great, if you moan the loss of Bar Chicago, you may find a new home here, but I can’t see any reason why I would ever choose to go back here.

The Loft is my typical Friday night spot. I usually enjoy myself but the DJ is a hot mess! It’s the same DJ every Friday so I guess that accounts for the fact that he plays the same music over and over. He also doesn’t have some popular songs my friends and I have requested(and he calls himself a DJ…) Anywho, my friends and I enjoy the stripper poles and catwalk(even if its tacky) and if the DJ spins a decent mix of music(it’s usually hit or miss) then we have a good time. The dance floor is sorta spacious and there’s a decent amount of seating. There’s always a mixed crowd and everyone seems to be there to dance and get drunk. All-in-all it’s an okay place.

I hate Rush and Division. It was only cool back when we JUST turned 21 and thought Mother’s, Bar Chicago and Bootleggers were amazing. Ahhhhh, the ignorance of youth. But, fast forward six years later… none of us will willingly set foot there unless we absolutely have to. Last night was one of those nights. I still hate the area with a passion, but The Loft isn’t as bad a I remember it to be. Maybe it was ‘cuz we didn’t have to pay cover and it wasn’t jam packed in there. The music was GOOD(assortment of hip-hop) and the crowd was fun. Best part: The ever-so-precious bartender only charged $ 5 a shot for some delicious pineapple upside down cakes. Amazing. At first, I thought she charged me $ 50 for 3 shots and almost cried. But, at $ 5, I was happy!

Only slightly better than McFadden’s, and only because the actual space was more interesting. They had some comfy chairs to sit on, which makes people watching a little easier. There were bachelorette parties everywhere, which started getting pretty obnoxious. They were pouring drinks SUPER weak, and for way too much money. I do not recommend this place unless you are TRASHED.

Scene: My cousin and a couple of my female friends dancing up on the«catwalk» that they have in this place – specifically made for ladies to go up and shake their asses on while all these dudes in striped dressed shirts and gelled hair stand below and gawk up their skirts. Some mobile home skank with blue eyeshadow and fringed boots starts booty dancing up next to my cousin. Skank: «I bet if we made out right now, boys would buy us shots.» Cousin: «In your dreams, lesbo.» Best night ever.
