So when I came here the atmosphere is homely like visiting a relative kind of. The waitress came to my table not long after I had been there. She was nice nothing special. The food took very long to come though. Once it did it was pretty good. Not amazing but good. It looked okay tasted better. I love that it’s a black owned business but I can’t say it would ever be a «go to» for me.

I really enjoy being a patron of Black owned businesses, but I am sad to say the food here was not appetizing. The waitress took forever to get to my sister and I; when she did, she brought us menus where they didn’t have most of the items on there. We decided to go there because it was down the street from our church and the reviews seem to be pretty good. I guess reviews don’t always matter especially in this case. I will not be returning and if I had an option, they wouldn’t receive any stars. I guess the one star would be for how welcoming the people were and that’s it.

Let me begin with a positive. The food is absolutely phenomenal. I honestly don’t have any complaints regarding the quality of food. The only complaint I have is the service. The waitress(which works the bar) is EXTREMELY slow. It literally took us 40 mins to get some fried chicken and a couple of sides. The chicken is fried to order which is a good think because it’s fresh but Good Lord, they are slow. We were never checked on again, asked if we needed a refill, napkins, anything. I asked for my check once our meal came because we had been sitting so long. I had to ask for my check 3 times during the course of our dining. Eventually once we were done, I walked to the register to pay because our check was never brought to our table. Go for the food and not the service but be prepared to wait a while so take a good back and a semi full belly

The food is outstanding. Great homemade taste. Love the candied sweer potatoes and the cabbage. I’m blessed to know the cook personally and I know this food is all made from scratch. The portions are good and filling. I thought I wouldnt finish the meatloaf bit I ate the whole piece. Very old school atmosphere. Staff is pleasant.

Ordered the pot roast, string beans, rice, gravy and greens. The green beans were tasty even though they were canned, the pot roast was tender but had no seasoning, Rice is rice but the gravy was made from a mix. The greens and corn muffin were very good. Be consistent, New Look. Maybe the made to order chicken or catfish is better.
