Nice to see these dances. Obvious they worked hard. I did see Shen Yun right before, and I must say if nutcracker would incorporate some of their dances or ideas, it be a superb show. All in all enjoyed it.

Ballet is not my thing. When my friends told me we were doing a Girl’s Night watching the Nutcracker, I was not thrilled. Then someone told me there would be puppets, and I was even less intrigued. Giant puppets? Ballet? Do I really have to go to this? Absolutely! First, it really isn’t a ballet. There are two dance scenes, but that’s it. There are giant puppets for two scenes, but they are sooo cool! I don’t really remember the Nutcracker ballet from when I was younger, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t the same storyline. Basically, the girl’s older brother dies in the war, and she becomes horribly depressed and begins living in this nightmarish world. The best part of this play? It’s a comedy. I don’t know if I would take kids to see it. There were kids there, and they seemed to enjoy it, but I’d be slightly concerned that it may be too dark for some of the younger kids. Everyone else should make time to see it though. I think it only runs until the end of the month though, so get to it!
