My boyfriend took me here for dessert after my birthday dinner and it was amazing. The décor looked great and the couches were comfortable. The ambiance is quiet unlike the bar located on the same level. I ordered the Irish Coffee ice cream float and it was delicious. They gave it another name, but I can’t remember what it was called. My boyfriend and I split the Carmen Miranda Sundae which was so huge! We did manage to eat a good portion of it. The unique flavor of the sundae melded well considering the ingredients are sorbet, coconut flakes, macadamia nuts, berries, whipped cream, sprinkles, and dried banana chips. The service is top notch here. Be sure to check out the bathroom décor.

My mom and I have an annual tea time tradition. We usually go to another hotel but thought we would switch it up this year, so we tried the Pavilion at the Langham. The hotel was nice but the afternoon tea was just okay. The service was amazing(I give that a 5), the room was absolutely stunning(I give that a 5 as well), the tea was nice(not that big of a selection), I didn’t love the sandwiches but I LOVED the truffled egg salad, it was in the most amazing perfectly cut and cleaned egg shell(we asked for seconds; it was to die for). Unfortunately I did not love the desserts and I have a hug sweet tooth so I was really looking forward to that. I don’t think I’ll be back for afternoon tea but I look forward to returning to the hotel to try out the other restaurant.

We reserved a spot from 3 – 5 on Sunday for tea time for a friends birthday. Exceptional service! They have staff everywhere to guide you to the tea room, coat check, and your server can text the valet to have your car ready by the time you are ready to leave. Tea time includes our own tea pot with of course lemon, sugar, honey, and milk options, small sandwiches with vegetarian option available, baked goods and desert-5 options. All for approximately $ 40 per person. Tables are tiny and have comfy couches surrounding them. It’s perfect for small groups. You do not feel rushed at all and the staff are very nice and helpful. There’s a fireplace and live piano player. Such a wonderful calming atmosphere!

The«Carmen Miranda» has a similar effect on me as Jesse Williams with his shirt off. Almost. Pretty much. If a bowl of black raspberry sorbet, exotic sorbet, banana ice cream, fresh fruit, macadamia nuts, toasted coconut, banana chips, crème anglaise, and whipped cream 2x the size of your head sounds awesome to you, get this. The Pavillion is on the much quieter end of that floor, a complete 360 from Travelle on the other side. Which is beyond lovely. Because while on some Friday nights you don’t mind yelling over music and crowds, other nights you want to be able to hear a pin drop and have real time for girl talk, while staring at Derrick Rose’s living quarters across the street. Note: I believe they only offer the«adult sundae» menu during specific hours(could be wrong), I’d call ahead to make sure.

So this spot in the Langham is hidden. It looks like a lobby on the second floor opposite Travelle. Hurry, go, before everyone else knows… shhhhhh! This is where they have afternoon tea. I haven’t been for tea yet, but according to a friend that is an expert at tea in the city… this is the best place. BUT at 6p it turns into the Parlour til 10p. Ssshhhhhhhhhh! So posh, you can definitely get sloshed! Boozey HUMONGOUS sundae like drinks… yes, you heard me folks… adult like floats Amazingly delish sundaes that are as big as your head… a ba-zillion different kinds. The Chicagoland was absolutely amazing. I am an ice cream whore. And theeesss shiznit might have been the best I ever had. It’s like the dirty little pleasure that you just love to have but know you shouldn’t be putting all of this ridiculousness in your mouth. As a friend put it… way nicer than Serendipity. Just go… do it. Bring some friends because four of us didn’t even come close to finishing it. Oh and if you want to share«The Victorian,» call me… I am in!
