Thank you Facebook for the heads up the other week when timbuk2 was having a warehouse sale! I made my way down there and realized that I wanted 3 different bags. Then I realized that I don’t even need a bag… My be got a new messenger and I bought one for a friend who couldn’t make it down there. Really great deals for nice bags and they love their new bags! One bag I really want is that backpack you can use to put your small dog in! Unfortunately, it wasn’t part of the warehouse sale

If you are looking for a commuter bag or backpack of any sort you must stop by here. They will be able to explain anything about the bags and will identify which is the best for you. The staff were awesome, good sales people– not pushy and genuinely interested in helping find what is right– and they create a laid back browsing atmosphere. I have a classic messenger bag and it has been wonderful to bike around and go to class. These are great as they can be customized for colors and features(this can be done in the store). There are far more technical pieces available and that is where the sales people can be helpful in deciding. The store is in a great location and has a very aesthetically pleasing display format for the bags.

I purchased a bag from Timbuk2 largely because of the«lifetime» warranty they offered. After a couple of years of light use the stitching attaching the strap to the bag completely unraveled, rendering the bag useless. I brought the bag into the store to have them evaluate the problem. They determined that the bag would have to be sent back to the factory for repair. After paying a $ 25 fee that I was told would be refunded after the bag was determined to be defective, the bag was mailed for repair. A few weeks after I received an email stating that the defective stitching was«wear and tear» and that I should be thankful that I get to pay $ 25 to have the bag repaired so that it will last for many more years(doubtful considering the initial stitching ripped apart in 2). Customer service stopped responding to my inquiry regarding the bag. Overall, a warranty that doesn’t cover the stitching holding the bag together seems like a meaningless inducement to sucker people into buying their bags. There are many other companies making the same type of bag and I would definitely recommend any of those over Timbuk2.

I was there to check out items I had seen on the website, so I was expecting to like what I saw. I was not expecting to find outstanding service and better prices than the website. Thank you and expect me to be back and spread the word. Special props to the guy who opened the store for an extra couple of minutes tonight to sell me a great suitcase!

I walked in the story about 45 minutes to close thinking it would be impossible to quickly find a bag. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Katheryne(sp?) who asked me what I was looking for in a bag. She showed me a few options and helped me narrow them down to the bag that would be best for me. It was great to actually be assisted by someone friendly and not pushy in a boutique-style store. I walked away with the Spire Backpack and I’m in love.

As a city dweller and daily commuter, I need a bag that’s going to meet the following criteria: –attractive(color, size, shape) –highly functional –comfortable –washable –durable Timbuk2 bags offer all of this and more. I purchased a bright blue skylark here about a month ago and am very happy with my purchase. The bag converts from tote into backpack if you’re riding your bike which is really nice. The color is awesome and I love the hot pink contrast on the pretty blue. The guys who work here(guy with glasses and beard, sorry, Nate maybe?) was incredibly helpful and brought the skylark to my attention, as I had original intended to purchase the scrunchie bag. I’m glad he was able to better assess what I was looking for and offered a great product. Thank you! Overall this was a great shopping experience and I encourage anyone looking for a new bag to stop in, you will definitely find something here.

Great products and amazing service. I have shopped here 4 times(way too many already) and each time they continue to do an amazing job exceeding my expectations. This past Sunday we were greeted with mimosas! Alex has helped me 3 times and this guy is a rock star. Quite litterally slows down to ask relevant questions about use prior to just making recommendations. Every time I go in I always walk out with something.

I went yesterday morning to get a replacement bag. The young lady working couldn’t have been anymore helpful or pleasant. Great store and neighborhood.

When I walked in with my old backpack and all its contents, Nicole — who helped me find my perfect, new Timbuk2 backpack — didn’t judge. And when the store filled up with customers, she still managed to provide my wife and I excellent customer service. On top of that, the store manager is awesome and also very helpful. And I haven’t even mentioned how incredible the my Timbuk2 messenger and backpack are. Thank you, Timbuk2 for having a store in Chicago — you rock!

I absolutely love Timbuk2. The Chicago store is beautiful, well organized, and has lots of options on display. You can find whatever you want: a small bag, a big bag, a bag for cycling, a bag to keep your beer cold, a bag to transport your pet. Since they are specialized in what they do, you’ll find exactly what you need. Also, I love the option to customize my bag with materials and colors that I like. Josh knew everything about the bags and was super friendly. He helped me select the perfect bag based on my needs. I’m really happy with my purchase! I strongly recommend you to experience the retail store.

Not purchasing a Timbuk2 bag after visiting the Seattle and Denver location then finally the Chicago location opens and finally I walk away purchasing a bag. Something about the new Chicago location store that finally won me over. Maybe it was the awesomely decorated Chicago flag brick wall. Maybe it was the awesome sample bags and swatches displayed. Maybe customer service from Nicole C just shined through. Or just maybe it was all of the above and more. Yes, yes, yes, and yes! As you walk in, the open spacious store invites you to check out everything. They even have a custom bar in the back with computers to allow you to custom order any bag they make. Next to the computers are the sample swatches of the different materials used to make every custom bag. The proud panted Chicago flag wall just hangs behind the registers. «Go ahead, take your things, and stuff it in any of the bags to see if you like any of the bags,» as Nicole C suggests to me and I did just that. She was patient and suggestive based on the requirements I had. At the end, I ended up making a custom bag on one of their computer. Do it in the store! They get credit for helping you! Plus you can see every part in person! Within a week, your bag will arrive from SF made the way you want it! I recommend anyone looking for a Timbuk2 bag to go to the store in person. You will walk out happy as I was! Décor — 5 Service — 5

My husband and I were excited to see the store had opened when we were in the neighborhood for the Do Division Festival. The store was clean, well organized and easy to shop. The staff was not only friendly and knowledgeable, but also seemed genuine while interacting with customers. It was a casual environment but not the hipster/fake vibe I’ve gotten from other stores in that area. Alex was wonderful at helping us decide which bag would be best for my husband– not pushy whatsoever. We were excited for the purchase knowing Timbuk2’s quality and to support such a great store and local Wicker Park team!

This place. Nicole C was extremely helpful. I recently purchased a customized Timbuk2 bag through the website prior to this store opening. I went in to see if any one could point me in the direction of getting the strap on my bag replaced as it had started to already tear. Nicole was extremely helpful, she definitely went above and beyond. She gave me undivided attention and assured me that she would see that my needs were met. She truly left a good impression, which she didn’t have to do because I wasn’t even making a purchase that day in store. Nicole has been great with following up with me too. Amazing customer service aside, this store is beautiful. It has a very minimal, modern look to it. It’s not the easiest to just«Browse» if you’re not familiar with their products but that’s what their team members are for. I’ve been a Timbuk2 fan for a while and I’m really glad to see a brick and mortar store here in Chicago! I’m just as glad that this experience owed up to the great quality of their products.

Stumbled upon the new Timbuk2 store in Chicago the day after it opened. Being big Timbuk2 supporters, it was great to see them in Chicago. Made a small purchase in commemoration of their new store. We went back a few days later to make another purchase. It is a great store with great product, but being a new store, the employees knew less about the product than we did. We found it difficult to believe that in a big city like Chicago, they couldn’t find employees more familiar with their bags. We know it’s just a matter of time(and a few hours spent on their website) before they become the brand experts that we are.
