Tip and Toe Spa

if I could give 0 stars i would. the first time i went last week i was a little wary because the didn’t even have me wash my hands first! but i have a job interview the next day (I’m a hair stylist) so my presentation had to be on point right down to freshly manicured nails. i was just going to get a basic manicure but my nails weren’t at a attractive length at the moment so i decide to get some enhancements (acrylics) to extend them a little.
i requested them to be kept thin and balanced so that they look natural
I was then told i should get «gel» cuz its «more better» and natural. i inquired about the type of gel they use. is it acrylic and a gel top coat or actual gel? even tho i knew the answer. they informed me it was gel powder. WRONG! as a cosmetologist i know there is no sure thing as gel powder. they could even tell me what brand acrylic or gel they use. so i proceeded with the acrylic. short and painted white.
They looked nice besides the fact they looked like chicklets gum. lol
but it was fine, i could shape them to my liking at home. i just needed the acrylic on (something i could have done myself) but i dont own a file and hand filing is so time consuming coupled with the fact my dad hates the acrylic smell.
1 WEEK LATER
the nails are seriously lifting, i dont have time to travel all over the world for a fill because i start my new job tomorrow. and i can’t have the lifting because hair get caught under.
I’m thinking i’ll have to file them of course. no biggie, a fill is only 13 bucks.
the technician was RUDE, he commented about how they were done badly. when i rebutted and said YES, they were done HERE last week JULY 30^th he had nothing to say. he removed 3 nails. added tips on crooked, chopped off the length, slapped on acrylic and said $ 20. the girl next to me had to explain he charged me for replacing the fucked up nails. lol
he then painted them sloppy but on a super shiny topcoat that disguised the dips and dents that he left. just discovered by me because i left in a hurry. why did i leave before my nails were even dry you ask? the atmosphere was horrid… a man came into the shop selling bootlegged DVDS and then huge spill happened at the pedicure chairs. the man then mopped up the spill for 5mins with half his BUTTCRACK hanging out the top of his pants. i could not make this stuff up if i wanted to… lol
so now I’m home taking off my nail polish about to use a polar block to smooth and shape my nails CORRECTLY. the job was SO bad that i could not fix them with a nails file alone. nails do not match in length or shape at all. he also got acrylic on my cuticle which will cause more lifting.
they do not have to worry about me going back, which I’m sure is no sweat off their back cuz there are plenty of others who will go and get subpar service.

This shop has just been taken over 2 months by the new owner, and they do awesomeeee job. You should check out their designs on their website. Watching them doing the design is like watching an art show.
Go for Koi if you like funky n crazy stuff. Go for Kyle if you’re in decent n elegant thing.
