I am rarely excited about eating places but after trying a burrito here I can not wait to go back! If this place delivered I don’t know that I would get groceries. My wife got a veggie burrito repotted it in high regards. I had the chicken burrito which was«amaze balls». Descriptiveness eludes me other than I throughly enjoyed it and am returning again soon!

tacos were pretty decent. although the employee was taking pictures of my boyfriend and I for snapchat(which is an app that mostly teens use now a days). on top of that there was a weird lump of an unidentifiable cheese looking thing that didn’t look too edible.

Tony’s Burrito Mex can best be described as the go to place after a night of drinking. I had the opportunity to check out Tony’s when a friend dragged me here for a late night snack after a night of drinking. Walking into Tony’s brought me back to my college days of everyone packing into the nearest and cheapest restaurant for a late night snack. Tony’s size is better suited for dining-out. There are only two or three tables in the restaurant and a few bar stools to accommodate customers that want to dine-in. The overall energy of Tony’s was great! Everyone from the customers to the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The staff are definitely patient because they are used to dealing with intoxicated customers that take forever to order. The food itself is super cheap and very low quality. I unfortunately visited here when I was sober so I could taste how bad the food was. The chicken in the burrito was terribly seasoned which made it taste very bland. I personally was starving so I finished everything but I wouldn’t try this restaurant again unless I’m starving or have had a few too many drinks.

I could eat chipotle every single day. It’s great food at a great price. However, after getting the large pork burrito at Tony’s I found my new favorite burrito. For 5.95 I got the best burrito I’ve ever had. This place is absolutely fantastic. If I lived near roscoe village I would get this multiple times a week. Don’t let the fact that the exterior isn’t posh fool you — this place rocks!

Best quick taco and burrito joint in the city. I lived down the street for 3 years and probably ate there 100 times. night time cooks is better than the day cooks, at least the foods a little better. you know this place is good because the line is always out the door after midnight.

It’s like if your favortie taco truck decided to set up shop. The food and atmosphere is absolutely authentic, and while there are fancier mexican restaurants in Chicago, Tony’s has banging burritos for the right price! I ordered the burrito supreme, and I could feel the other customers instantly become jealous as my food was delivered. I was just simply shocked about how big the sucker was, as well as how quickly and friendly the service was. The burrito was so good that I ate the entire monstrosity in 3 min. The lady next to me told me what I did was a sin. I simply replied it was my guilty pleasure :) 5 stars, this is my new favorite mexican spot in west lakeview.

Good enough for late night tacos! Chicken was pulled, not filled which is annoying but the steak was cool. Tortillas are flour, which is unfortunate but the rice was really good! They have tamales which is unusual for smaller places like this. Tamales were only $ 1.50! I enjoyed my meal.

I’m still going to this place after 1 year! When I’m craving tacos, burritos and any other yumminess I head straight to Tony’s. Great food and friendly workers

Cheap and cheerful with some top quality Mexican food! You can go here sober, drunk or hungover and it never fails. Personal favourite is the pork tacos dinner but I would be happily order from 90% of the menu.

I’m not really sure what the 5-star reviews are all about. The only upside is the price, I got a 2-taco dinner and only cost $ 5+. Other than that, subpar. Also all these people deeming this as «authentic» — uhm… okay. And the«authentic guac» comment made me laugh! There isn’t «fake guac» –how can you substitute avocados(what guac is made off) with anything else??? Steak taco(cilantro and onions): meat/marinade tasted bitter and bland. Tried salting it, but it just made it worse. Language taco(onions and cilantro): this was the lesser of two evils. At least it tasted better when I salted it. If you’re drunk or tight on cash I would definitely recommend this place; if you want to satisfy the taste for good tacos… head elsewhere! Tons and TONS of students in here. Someone also mentioned«no hipsters… Spanish speaking signals good» something to that extent… There were literally no Mexicans there when I sat down for an hour — every other race except Mexican. Hello, Of course they’d be speaking Spanish in the back; most cooks in city(no matter what cuisine/restaurant) are Mexicans; you’d hear them speak Spanish here, at a chinese place… Even at freakin ihop! You«authenticators» are hilarious.

If I lived in this neighborhood, I would be at Tony’s ALLLLLLLL of the time. It’s cheap! *$ 7.50 for three items + rice & beans *$ 5.50 for a huge plate of chips and real guacamole(not that green goo shit) *$ 8.00 for a tamale plate + rice & beans *$ 7.25 for an enchilada plate with avocado slices + rice & beans It’s tasty! Sometimes when you get cheap eats, you sacrifice flavor. Not here! Especially of note — their carnitas, their guacamole and their salsa verde. It’s divey! Yes, the atmosphere is basically a diner. And I love it. It’s casual, but clean. That’s all that matters. My sister lives blocks from here and came here for the first time when we were in town. I think this is grounds to disown her.

What a fuckn Mess Environment: 1⁄5 Your diner setting. Grab n go, quick bite type of place. Food: Sucks/5 Steak Taco: sour cream, cheese, old lettuce, horrible tomatoes. Meat was cold and soo old and dry Tongue Taco: sour cream, cheese, old lettuce, horrible tomatoes. Tongue was disgusting. Overall: Horrible. If your drunk or don’t know Mexican food go right ahead. Your a disgrace for calling this food Mexican.

Nothing negative to say about this place. It’s my go-to jam whether late night or afternoon. Al pastor over everythang. tacoz, enchiladaz suizaz, burritos. Homies make a mean ass cheeseburger as well. They’re open mega late. There’s a HORCHATAFOUNTAIN… I mean i can’t believe they have anything less than 5 stars, kno what i’m sayin? Anywhere you can get good food at low prices with hilarious staff AND soccer on tv is a good place. stop reading this and go. NOW.

Good drunk food. My friends and boyfriend loved it. Been here twice now, first time I got a chicken burrito. Second time I got veggie quesadillas. I wasn’t a fan of their chicken and the quesadillas were greasy.

Sorry guys, now that I’ve been in the area a while, I’ve found some much better options for my taco fix. I like your food, but it’s over priced for the quality of what you put out. I know four other taco joints locally, that are much higher quality, and less expensive. I’m writing this, as I have always gotten friendly service, I just stopped coming because of the prices. Also, I noticed you cut back on your meat portions and yet the prices continue to go up, bummer. I do understand it’s hard to make it now days, as raw material costs continue to rise, but it’s hard to raise your menu prices, I get it! You just have to rethink what you are trying to be; cheap taco joint or high quality tacos at a fair price? I really hope you can see this, as I wish you all the best! Again, you seem like good people, I just see less people in your place and I think I get it, I hope you do too. I’ll try back next month, as I don’t want to give up on you yet.

Well i had one of my Taco cravings again and spotted this place. I stopped for lunch just because i wanted a Taco. When i walked in, the two girls behind the counter were so deep in conversation about their«Baby Daddies» that i was ignored for about 30 seconds. One of them wanted to make sure to finish what her«Baby Daddy» did before getting to me. I mean that already pissed me off! I was just looking at her like«REALLYLADY?!». I placed my order for two steak tacos and they came up pretty fast. As i am sitting there eating my Tacos, i remembered that one of my friends had mentioned this place a year ago. He swore up and down that this place was amazing. Well my taste buds told me «THISPLACEDOESN’T EXCITEUSONEBIT». The Tacos were mediocre. Nothing to rave about or pass out over.

For my first time at Tony’s, I thought it was a decent taqueria style mom-and-pop joint. The seating inside is pretty small, but fine. You order at the counter and they call out orders. It was pretty quiet when we were there — although they were getting quite a few carry out orders. The food was fine. I liked my taco. It was crispy and the cheese was flavorful. I think overall the beans are kind of bland. Being that was one of the main flavor ingredients for a vegetarian taco, that is probably the basis of the food being good, but not great. The enchilada I had was also so-so. The tortilla was kind of tough and the red sauce was a bit off. If I had to try this place again, I would definitely try the burrito next time.
