I was going to Beyond the Fringe for some time prior to ever having Paul cut my hair. My previous barber decided to move back to Africa. I really like the way he cut my hair. I was really bummed out and it would have been nice for some advanced notice. A good barber is so hard to find!!! So, I was left with a dilemma. Try to find someone else by word of mouth, or give someone else a try. So, when I walked in that day looking for my previous barber, Paul said he was no longer there. However, he could cut my hair. Always skeptical when someone new touches my head for the first time, I decided to give him a try. That was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a very long time. Not only does Paul cut hair amazingly, he is very nice, personable, and very humble. Very cool guy. I lucked out tremendously!!! I will and have waited hours for him to cut my hair. So worth it!!!

Echo the same. Paul’s chair is like getting your haircut in your own bathroom except with a professional barber… He’s that good. My wife can tell when he cuts my hair and when someone else does and yes even in this recession, I never go out without a Paul approved hair cut. There’s a significant difference. the line can be long, but he’s definitely worth it.

I would have to Agree with Allen. In regards to waiting for Paul.
I have known Paul for about almost 10 years next year. And when I get in that chair, I feel like I am at home. Paul has cool, laid back conversation, just to see how everything is going in your life. And by the time he is done, you look like a new Man! Thanks Paul, keep up the GREAT work, and don’t plan leaving Chicago.

This place is as down home black barber shops as it get. However you’ll rarely see some one come in trying to sell you stolen goods. The people here are very nice and you’ll get a good cut. I go here before I make any of my videos in YouTube to look my best and Paul makes sure of it. It can get a little crowded and the wait can sometimes be long but I still give it five stars however this can be avoided for the most part if you come during off peak hours or call ahead. I’m actually writing this review sitting in the place a little wait kinna annoying but well worth it if Paul is ur barber also LADIES the hair dressers here as good as far as i know. I’ve never seen a lady leave dissatisfied. A cut is about $ 20.
