Don’t get me wrong, I like dive bars better than hang nails, and we still had a good time. But the thing that made me go, «meh», was when you first walk in it smells like cats are roaming about without a litter box to piss in. But thankfully the human body is amazing and after a while you can’t smell it anymore because you just get used to it. Drinks are kinda cheap. Cash only, but they have an ATM for those of us that choose not to carry cash. I did go on a night with Karaōke, and I gotta say that part was a lot of fun. The KJ is pretty cool, you can sing multiple times. Probably the only part that really made me go «meh» instead of «bleh». For a friend’s birthday, it was pretty fun, after the smell settled in and the alcohol kicked in. Probably won’t be going back, but that is more because I live pretty far away from it, and there are dive bars closer to home.

This is probably what people mean when they say a bar is a «Hole in the Wall.» If you drive by it, you probably wouldn’t notice it’s even there! I’ll be honest with you, this isn’t much ambiance in this place at all and you get some of the strangest characters that show up randomly. Sadly, I seem to frequent this bar quite a bit on the weekends anyway. I may be making it sound worse than it really is but it just seems that I am the only person that actually enjoys this bar. I think I am attached to this place since it was the first bar I ever went to 7 years ago. I guess it’s like my CHEERS bar and everyone knows my name… Actually, only some know my name but the rest at least know my face. I think the best deal about this place is that you can get a glass of Miller or Bud for only a $ 1! Not many places can beat that kind of special. One big negative would be that it’s a cash only bar and up until a few months ago, they didn’t even have a ATM so that the plastic carriers could actually withdraw some money without leaving the bar to wander around looking for a bank or gas station. They also make a House vodka called the«Andy Special,» which is the name of the late owner. This shot is definitely a wild card and it never tastes the same way twice. I guess that can be a good or bad thing, depending on your point of view. Ha ha They do have karaōke here on Friday and Saturday with probably one of the nicest KJ’s in town. I think he literally has over a million songs that you can choose from and it’s not over crowded so you will get up plenty of times… if you’re in to karaōke! Again, not a «must see» but if you like mostly empty bars where you don’t have to wait long to get a drink or yell to hear the person next to you, this might be worth a shot. I’ll let you decide that. Try it out. –Papa Bear
