University of Illinois School of Public Health

Classes here are very good. But I, as an Investigator for the City utilize this place more so for the lab. The staff in the lab are always on it. They are very much part of the team of investigations because without them, where would I take samples of diseases and food borne illness samples?
Over the summer I took a few trainings here and really enjoy the antiquated look of the joint. Not the most modern building, but none the less, it serves its purpose. And if you are in the neighborhood, the front lobby stocks up on Red Eye Magazines.

As a prospective student considering UIC as a school of choice, I found them very unpersonalized. Just about everything is online. I understand that by making everything «green» with technology is great, but there is little face to face interaction. I’m really curious about the program and what it has to offer.
Yesterday, I went on campus to seek out the face-​to-​face interaction that online information simply doesn’t provide. Unfortunately there was very little face-​to-​face interaction there. Everyone asked me if I had checked the website. Perhaps its just me, but when I am going to spend 40k on school, via student loans, I want just a little face time.
I will still apply and see how the process goes. Luck to me :)

I have been at the UIC school of public health for almost 3 years now, getting a doctorate. It is one of the best public health schools in the nation. The research being conducted is top notch and the faculty are the best I’ve encountered.
Graduate students have plenty of opportunities to progress in their careers. The best funding scenario compared to most public health schools in the country. Faculty have numerous connections with public health departments all over the nation and that works well for graduating students.
A great school, overall.
