Suffice to say breaking your arm sucks. But you’re certainly not doing yourself any favors if you take your broken wing to Uptown. I generally don’t write negative reviews but healthcare is something different, which is why I’m here. I was referred to Dr Huang by the ER I went to and got in the day after the incident. Mary and Mike, his office support staff, were amazing. Dr Huang, however, couldn’t hear anything I said and snapped at my sister and I when we turned to Mike for help communicating with him. He would discuss very little in terms of treatment options — it was very clear he wanted to operate. The ER staff said that generally these breaks respond well to casting and bracing and that surgery can pretty easily be avoided. Dr Huang WOULDNOT discuss any treatment options other than surgery. The simple fact that the Masonic ER refers patients to this doctor is really, really troubling. I am happy to report I got a second opinion from Midwest Ortopaedics at Rush and I couldn’t be happier with the way I’ve been treated and the amount of respect I’ve been given by everyone on staff there.
