Why a «vegan gallery»? The owners adhere to a vegan lifestyle, and many, but not all, of the artists do as well. But since vegans come from all walks of life, you can expect an eclectic mix of art styles, subjects and media. There’s something for every price point as well. Four pieces of art have come home with me from the gallery so far: drawings by Jennifer Anne Buckley and Edna Angeles and two prints by Darren Miller. I’ve been to several of their Friday night open house events(every other week, I believe). It’s a very down-to-earth, friendly environment. Keep an open mind and meet some interesting people; have a little fun(and/or a drink or two). The woman behind the vegan food truck brings sandwiches and more for sale during the open house Fridays, but she’s sure to sell out quickly!

I vised the new gallery at 2153 W. Division St. They feature some amazing local art. If you want o see ‘real’ Chicago art and artist, not commercialized art, this is the type of place to go. Vegan Gallery rents space to local artists, hosts events to bring attention to the art, and assists in the sales process. I just wish they had more space. I’m the type of person that can’t get enough of raw, local art. There are better pics of the new gallery on my Facebook or on

I think they are moving soon to somewhere on Milwaukee Ave, so keep an eye out. Went here for a thing, though there were a bunch of other non-meetup people there. It seemed like it was someone’s apartment, and they just took out the furniture. I hear the new place will be much more of a real space. I met the owner: He seemed nice, as was everyone else there. I asked if the art was all vegan, but he said to ask the individual artists. I asked if the artists were all vegan, but they were not. I think it’s just kind of a veg-friendly art space, which is cool enough. The art there that night wasn’t to my personal preferences, but I will definitely keep going back and see what’s new. I hope they do even better in the new location.
