I love walgreens! They always have nice employees and their sales are great as well. I DONOT recommend going to this walgreens. I thought being in Lincoln park that the employees would be more friendly then other because of its prime location WRONG! The lady who rang me up was an older African American and she had a horrible attitude. Not only was she rude to the customer before me but I as well. She raised her voice because I didn’t enter my rewards number fast enough when she asked nor was I fast enough with my coupons. If you are going to have a customer service job then yes to some degree you need to have patience and manners and all she seemed to care about was closing down her line to go on break. Next time I’ll just stick to cvs to avoid the area.

Some Walgreen’s locations are just slightly useful and people only use them for lack of other options. This doesn’t seem to be one of those stores. The employees have always been friendly and respectful. It seems to be a strong management team that respect their employees and you can feel it while in the store. I don’t have prescriptions filled here but I pay attention to what is happening in that area and there is rarely a line and customers seem satisfied there. Some of the impressive offerings here are pretty good sushi(I thought it was impossible, but it seems pretty fresh, really!), bicycle accessories(lots of area residents are avid bikers), and a nice selection of beer, wine, and hard liquor. Some prices are a bit higher on these super convenience items but that is typical for Walgreen’s and not worth me deducting stars for. A good selection and friendly employees can make slightly higher prices acceptable.

Another Walgreens review. Riveting, I know. But I feel like this place has a worse rep than it deserves. Granted, my experience probably totaled *maybe* 9 minutes… it was a stress-free and positive one. Chase ATM next to the door. Bottled water on sale 3 for $ 2(Perfect for festival season). And when there were two lines forming, the cosmetics counter staff was quick to open a third line to reduce the wait time and up the convenience factor. Last win: Big ass parking lot.

I HEARTWALGREENS. I Especially Heart Walgreens every time I make the mistake of going into a CVS. My Walgreens is the Fullerton Walgreens but I also like the North Ave and Wells Walgreens also. Reasons I like Walgreens: A choice of computer check-out or Human Being check-out. They have GREAT prices and sales. They are the place to go if you want Chicago souvenir hats, t-shirts, magnets, pens etc. Prices on prescriptions are better than CVS. They have a web system where you can see your prescription history and they email notifications(if you want). AND the pharmacists are NICE to ME.

Convenient location WITH parking lot. That’s pretty much clutch in the city. Got everything you need, just like a normal Walgreen’s. Only thing is long lines occasionally.

Expensive but much more organized these days compared to a year ago. The cashiers are very nice which makes the not so diverse variety of products not so bad. At least they carry frozen mozzarella sticks? :)

I just returned from Store 1173, which was closed at 11:45pm tonight, 15 minutes early. I walked up and the door was locked. This is the second time that this has happened in the past two months. The first time it was closer to closing time, approximately 11:55pm, so I didn’t think much of it. However, this time the store was closed at least 15 minutes before the posted closing time, and the two incidents together speak to an ongoing problem and a disappointing trend. Otherwise, I like this store fine; it’s a Walgreens — pretty standard. The employees generally seem pleasant and helpful, and the store appears well stocked and clean.

Boycott! clean the damn snow. They sell salt! Why can’t they shovel the snow and keep the area clean and clear? If I can’t manuever around this snow, how the heck are old people supposed to do it?! Wheel chair accessible? Not when the snow is over 2 inches!

I’m usually very against writing reviews of big chain stores, but these guys literally saved my family’s Christmas Eve. After dinner at Sweets & Savories just down the street(check that place out y’all), my dad tried to move the car he had parked on a small side street while I walked my 83-year-old Gma, sister and mom down to the Walgreens to stay warm. He calls my cell phone and says that the 2-wheel-drive car is stuck. So, I do my best to hurdle the massive glaciers of plowed ice on Fullerton to go and help him push the car. We try everything one driver and one pusher can do. I go back into Walgreens while my dad calls AAA to get a tow truck(and wait for anywhere from 45 mins — 3 hours!). I ask them for a cheap shovel in order to start digging out of the snow bank in my Xmas Eve suit, while the ladies are yucking it up w/the friendly counter girl there. That’s when the ghost of xmas present enters the scene. Turns out he’s a 5’10″, jacked, shaved bald white dude covered in tattoos. Also turns out he’s the assistant manager. «You don’t need a shovel, man. All you need is a little push.» With that, he and another ghost of xmas present grab jackets and saunter out to the car where they dislodged the family ride in a matter of seconds. Walgreens — you saved Xmas eve!

I fell in love with Walgreen’s the day I went there and bought a USB cord, special lightbulbs for my track lighting, blank CDs, a tire gauge, and a Diet Pepsi. They carry key items like these and make shopping so easy vs. driving to a Target where you have to wait in line forever. Plus, the in-store flyers are great for finding 2 for 1 deals. I love when there are two people in line to check out and they let people know«there is no waiting in cosmetics» so they don’t have to wait in line… they really do care about customer service.
