I’m sure they’re minting cash and it’s not the worst Walgreens I’ve seen but I would rather not. Plus their frozen yogurt is $ 4.99 and just squirted out liquid. Nice idea, but… pass.

I’m always a Walgreens enthusiast, but this store really takes the cake. It’s not because their product selection is great, because it’s not. And it’s not because they have a frozen yogurt bar, which they do, and people seem to love. It’s because of their employees. This location has the nicest people working there. Everyone is always kind, genuine, and extremely polite. They treat their customers very well, and keep the place looking very nice all the time.

Another Walgreens… which for the loop is every other block. This is in the old Bennigan’s space, not the most lively replacement but a convenient one for tourists, since it is right across from the Art Museum and the main tourist route. Compared to to the other flagship Walgreens on State/Lake this one feeds a bit drab: not much natural light, rather cookie-cutter and corporate, not an inventive use of a historic space. However the customer service was unusually good and enthusiastic, a nice turn for the usual apathetic approach from other Walgreen’s cashiers, which may drive me to come to this one more.

Just opened. 5 stars for five reasons: 1. Great location(just across from the Art Institute) 2. Very clean and nice layout 3. Extremely helpful staff(When the deodorant I was buying rang up as not being on sale even though it was, they honored the sale price AND gave me an extra discount to apologize!) 4. Pretty good selection considering the location(you’d think that its smaller size and location would mean it has less selection, but I didn’t find that too be too much the case) 5. Same prices as other Walgreen’s in Chicago, even though it’s in a touristy area(other chains raise their prices when they’re in the Loop)

This is the latest«modern» Walgreens located on Michigan Avenue. The store is very light and clean.

First day, first review! Walgreens opened their newest location in Chicago today at 2 p.m. without as much as a bang. My coworker came to my cube holding an overfilled cup of frozen yogurt, past its melting point, and stated with glee that the Walgreens downstairs was open for business. I strolled downstairs and walked into the newest tenant on Michigan Ave. I was promptly greeted by a security guard and an employee. This is a brand spankin’ new store concept. The cosmetics counter that graces most Walgreens has been ditched in favor of individualized product-based stands. No 7 brand facial creams and moisturizers receive prime real estate and there is even a representative for the product line. As many new Walgreens have done, this location has fro-yo in 4 flavors and 30 accompanying toppings(including fresh mango), an automated coffee machine, and even packaged and cut-up fresh fruit bowls and containers. The prices are the same as other Walgreens stores-I didn’t notice a mark-up or a divergence from sale prices I saw at the Walgreens in my neighborhood. Overall, this is a welcome addition to Michigan Ave, but its a tad bit too close to the«flagship» store on State.
