This Walgreen’s has one of the fastest pharmacies around and I think everyone can agree that when they need medication, the sooner the better. When I lived in the suburbs, I felt that it usually took a couple of days to fill a prescription for me and when I would come in to pick it up, it was usually followed by half an hour of wandering around waiting for them to find it. At the Sheridan Walgreens, my prescription was ready in less than 24 hours and available when I arrived to pick it up. Even more conveniently, this Walgreens is directly across the street from the Sheridan redline stop, I can pick up a prescription or other odds and ends(hairbands, tissues) on my way too and from work without going out of my way too much. The staff here are always helpful and nice, too. The only reason I dock this place a star is that there is usually a lack of variety. If I go in looking for a makeup item or even something easy like cotton balls or vaseline, it can be difficult to find and I usually end up having to buy an item similar to what I was looking for, but not what I went in for.

Nice walgreens! Clean and has everything I need. My only complaint is they close too early :(. I wish they were 24 hours or open until at least 11 or 12.

Nicest pharmacists I’ve ever met! I frequently pick up my mother’s medication and I have NEVER encountered a rude staff member here. This Walgreens is tiny because it’s attached to Howard Brown, so really, it’s a pharmacy with a few extra things, but they have the best staff. One time my mother’s prescription went up quite a bit and the pharmacist speaking to her asked if he could call her back after he looked into something. He ended up finding a cheaper way for her to get the medicine she needed. As someone else said, they really do care.

If you get medical services th rough Howard Brown, they have a direct connection to this pharmacy. You might qualify for discounts even without insurance, and this pharmacy simply knows more about LGBT health issues than any other place. The people here are just incredible. They are smart and they care. Highly recommended.

It is great to have a new Walgreens within walking distance of home. They have everything from flowers to cards to light bulbs to sushi. Everything was clean, the staff was nice. The hours are great and there is a pharmacy. There is plenty of parking. I think they could use a couple of extra registers because our wait in line was a little longbut other than that, so far so good!

have to(very reluctantly) stop going here because of a dispute between my insurance company and walgreens. I have never felt such attachment to a pharmacy before. Weird. These guys are amazing. They actually care. highly recommended.

I have been coming to this pharmacy for 3 years and wouldn’t change it for the world. Frankly, I fear the day that I possibly move away from Chicago simply due to this pharmacy. The location is convenient being near the Sheridan Red Line stop and inside Howard Brown Health Center(a bit hidden, but obviously gay-friendly). Once you find it, you’ll have great service. Michelle is FABULOUS and makes sure to take care of her customers by verifying they understand the medication and always finding the best deals(generics if available). They happen to be one of two 340B pharmacies in the city which helps in providing discount prescriptions to those in need. They are especially knowledgable when it comes to HIV drugs, but are well rounded over all. Not to mention that they’re super quick at getting your prescriptions ready. Another plus is that I love using the Walgreens pharmacy app on my iPhone which allows me to scan prescription bottles for refills and will then text me when prescriptions are ready.

ah yes ive not waited more than 5 min for a prescription even when i just came in to drop one off… not many people know about this place cause its in the howard brown health center… if not for the walgreens sign out front and its listing on the walgreens website i would not have known it even existed ***for those of u who still dont understand the concept of acceptance… id suggest another pharmacy location as this one is located in a lgbt center — for the rest of us… pop on in and ull be out in no time with friendly service to boot …oh ya and theres a huge bowl of free condoms on the table right outside

There’s almost no wait for your prescriptions here. Although the last time I went I had to wait about 5 or 10 minutes, I guess word is getting around…
