This company also rents out apartments in Chicago. This was the most unpleasant landlord I’ve ever dealt with — and you know how landlords are. We moved into our apartment contingent on some construction being finished — which we wrote into our lease before signing and paying. It took months for the construction to ever be finished, and every time we asked about it the landlord said he was doing us a favor. On multiple occasions in person and on the phone, he literally screamed at us, while we did our best to keep our voices calm and ask about issues politely. Unbelievable and completely unprofessional. Ben «BB» Weiss supposedly does not use email which I would guess is so he doesn’t have a paper trail of not following through on renters’ requests. And of course it took months, multiple letters and phone calls, and threat of legal action to get the deposit back.
