I used to be a regular here. Until I bought a groupon and came in to try and use it they gave me an attitude. False advertising to get people to come in using groupons and force you to pay full price. Even if they said it was a mistake and told me I would have understand. But the foul attitude for a loyal customer for 4 plus years is the reason I will never go here again.

I live literally a block away and thought I’d give this place a try. When I first walked in, I was taken back by the appearance of this place, but soon found that the food made up for the inside. I tried the double bacon cheeseburger. It was amazing. In addition, the guys behind the counter were friendly. A good place to stop for a gyro or burger for sure.

Great for a quick meal. The items are decently priced and you get a large portion when you order. I ordered the gyro and it easily lasted me like 3 meals. The food itself isn’t amazing, but its not bad. Perfect for when you’re starving and need a lot to eat. Unfortunately they one gave one pita with the huge box of gyros so make sure you order some extra. Slightly shady area so I wouldn’t go here alone at night. But really nice employees inside the restaurant.

This place is about 2 blocks from me so it would be my go to place in the neighborhood. I always order the 3 chicken wing and 3 chicken tender combo. It never disappoints. The portions are huge and the chicken is very flavorful. I also get the chicken nuggets. $ 5 for 15 nuggets with fries and a pop you absolutely can not beat that on a college budget. I would recommend this place if you are in the neighborhood Fast Affordable Good

This is the best late-night/open-most-of– the-time, fast food option in the area. Because of this, I probably order take out once every 1 – 2 months(when I’m feeling lazy)! I always stick to the gyros. It’s cheap, you get huge portions plus a drink, the service is always friendly. Plus the fries are AMAZING! I’ve had the burger, which is good too but I now go back to the gyro. This isn’t gourmet food but definitely some delicious fast food!

This place is only 2 blocks from my house, and I“m kicking myself for not going here sooner. I’m originally from New Orleans and I’ve been searching all over for some good fried catfish and have been disappointed. Not until yesterday when I ordered a 5 piece catfish dinner from Westside Gyros. The catfish was seasoned and fried perfectly! Large pieces, on top of seasoned fries. Dinner also came with a salad, cole slaw and a drink. All for 10 bucks. I couldn’t believe it. I will be back often.

I have to admit that for some reason I love the gyros here! Seems like they may have just gotten new owners, but I was relieved to find the gyros were still spot on! The fries have improved, too — gotta love that. Haven’t tried a lot else here, my boyfriend likes the pizza puffs, but I’ll let him write his own review. Can’t beat the prices or the fact that it’s super close to home.

Good standard gyro at a decent price, but we’ve gone too many times when their credit machines were down or they were closed during regular hours. As an update to 7/15, I think there is either a new owner or new management and they now take credit! Good basic eats on the fly, very inexpensive, and nice people working there.

I really like this spot. It’s close to my house, and the food is above average and the prices are way within reason. With that being said, I have only ordered a few different things. I have had the chicken tenders, which are amazingly huge and made from real chunks of chicken breast. I get sauce on the side, but they’ll toss the sauce on them if you would like. On four occasions I have had the 900 calorie artery buster — aka«the gyro cheeseburger». I don’t know quite how to explain that experience, but I do have to talk myself out of ordering it each time I go in there(either that or call the paramedics just before I start eating it). I have had and Like the gyros. The fries are included with many items and the food is always prepared quickly but properly and it tastes good. Definitely a good spot for a fast food type menu, but I don’t think I would be inclined to drive across town for it, but if in the area and the menu type is what your looking for you wont be disappointed.

clean, good food, and good service. They just added kabobs to their menu!!! The kafta and ck kabobs are amazing! Their dill rice and lentil soup are very flavorful. It’s cheap and the portions are good size. Probably the best kabobs I have had in this city yet and I have eaten at Rezas, El souk, Alhambra, and Shokran. Highly recommend it.

Not the best greasy spoon around, but it’s conveniently located.

Fast, cheap and decent food. The burgers are just ok, but I really like the gyro. The portion sizes are adequate, and for such a small place, you’ve got a lot of options. There are a few small tables for eating in, and I’ve never had trouble finding a seat. The previous owner was more personable, but the new owner isn’t a terrible guy, just not super friendly. Doesn’t keep me from stopping in, since the neighborhood doesn’t have a lot of variety. ***Update*** This place has changed hands more times than I can count, and the service has really suffered. I went back for my beloved gyro recently and it is nowhere near as good. Had to take away a couple stars. Bummer.

This is a nice neighborhood burger/dog/gyros joint. The burgers, dogs and gyros are all good, and the greasy pizza puffs are great for hangovers. They’ve got a lot of daily specials for $ 4.99 and I’ve pretty much tried them all. Not bad for the price. They occasionally forget the gyros sauce for takeout orders, so make sure you check your bag before you leave, or else you’ll be eating a gyro with whatever you have left in your fridge(ketchup, bbq sauce, relish…). I have yet to figure out when they are open or closed — sometimes I try to order at 10pm and they’re already closed… sometimes I drive by at 1am and they’re still open… if you’re going to go here late for a hot dog craving, call first to make sure they’re open.

Revised 2⁄12 — Never eat here again… the place has changed owners 3 times since the young greek guy who remodelled the place left and the food just gets worse and worse. Food poisoning city! Run! Despite the fear that a ‘Do The Right Thing’ style race war could break out any second inside my neighborhood gyros-spot(or g-spot), I’ve learned toaccept this place as OK food in the edible spectrum and a necessary evil. Since I’m eating junk in the first place, who am I to critique? The new middle eastern menu is a welcome addition to the hurting menu and saves me a much longer trip to find a decent falafel or kefta sandwich. I do miss the former and authentic greek owner and his endless supply of pretty cashier ladies but the new owner is nice and gives samples if you are polite and talk to him like a human being. I don’t go there looking for casual atmosphere, hip clientele or gourmet food. I go there because i want something I’ll regret eating and swear off for a few months. I’d take this place over white-castle, Bacci, Damenzo’s, generic hot-dog place, incarceration themed hot-dog place or K.F.C. any day.

Since the change in ownership, some things are better and some are worse. I love that they are now open on Sundays and are open until 2am. But prices have increased and the quality of the food has decreased a bit. We call ahead to order and they never remember to include cheese for the fries or extra sauces that we request — even when we ask them as they hand us the bag, they lie and say the extras are in there, and they never are. But when you’re craving a gyro and don’t want to commute to Greektown, this place definitely satisfies the craving.

open late now, till 2am, wish it was till 3am but at least it keeps me from having to go to Greektown after a nite of partying. Burgers are really good. Partial to the chicken sandwiches, will be trying the BBQ chicken soon.

This is another place my office likes to frequent, but I can do without. The quality is inconsistent and the food isn’t worth chancing another bout of upset stomach(read: explosive diarrhea) from improperly stored cucumber yummy sauce(tzatziki) or underdone chicken. So, when it is good, it is satisfying enough. And when it is bad, I have to take a cab home because there’s no way the bus will get me to the privacy of my own bathroom in time.

Why do people even bother with assessments like«best _____in the city»? This place is a tasty, welcome treat on the west side. Though it looks like a dive from the street, inside the place is very clean and done up with 50s sign décor. Come on, admit it condo-dwellers of Harrison and Western — you want to eat at more affordable, clean places like this one. This is a certainly a nice change from Bacci’s or White Castle. However, gyros are *not recommended* while driving.

They have great food at great prices but their gyros aren’t even close to being the best in the city.
