I have lived in Jefferson park for 20 years right behind the park on giddings. Today while walking my dying dog for his last time at his favorite park with my mom we were followed and harassed by what seems to be «park security»??? When we approached him as he was driving on the jogging track, we were in the center he immediately pulls away and drives off. He kept asking us questions about leashes which they had on and just drive around us slowly like we ere doing something wrong, now I’ve never ever wanted to say this but I think he was being discriminating. I am biracial obviously this wasn’t my first thought but when I looked around the whole park because it’s not big I notice there are other people with dogs not being followed. I vote here. I’ve been coming here for almost all my life now some I’m sure private company goes from park to park? Or is this how Wilson Park tells their security to treat people who live around the block? I’m so insulted that I will be making a formal complaint. I want an apology or and explanation as to why this man in a huge decrying SUV followed two small women with dogs at 2 in the afternoon? I tried to see if anyone was at the field house and they weren’t. I called and called. You think they’d have an exertion or calls forwarded to someone who could have been of some assistance.

I frequently go to this park because I live in the area. It’s across the street from the fire station. I’d estimate it may be half of the size of Jefferson Park nearby. There are basketball courts, tennis courts, a paved track, baseball fields, sand volleyball court, and a playground for kids. There’s also a separate«water playground» there but in the two years I’ve lived in the neighborhood I have yet to ever see it open or on. This summer I went to Shakespeare in The Park here(free event). I was pretty surprised to see so many people there since this park is never crowded. The playground and basketball courts probably get the most use besides the track. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone use the volleyball court. And as of last week it looked like the tennis courts were just refinished. Nothing very spectacular here but a good clean park to bring the kids to and take your dog to for a walk.

Quiet, clean park in the Jefferson Park area. Contains a 400m track, a playground, two baseball fields, tennis and volleyball courts, and ample field space.
