This review also applies to Purple Cab.
Called to arrange cab to O’Hare with plenty of time to spare,
When 10 minutes late I called to ask why they’re not there,
Was told they picked up the wrong fare,
Sent another car, told to wait 5 minutes – 10 minutes pass, I call again and told to wait another 10 minutes,
By now I was in danger of missing my cab so went with another option,
1) An apology would have been nice, 2) will go with American Taxi in the future instead.
Beware Cab 7407, thought I’d share.

I know in the world of taxi services, Yellow Cab is the first company that comes to mind. However, the time for change has arrived.
This morning, my husband loaded his suitcase in the trunk of cab #1367, Hack # 96 526 and hopped in. When he arrived at his destination, he paid and the cabbie drove off without opening the trunk! Yes, suitcase still inside.
Luckily, we were able to track down the cabbie and retrieve the suitcase. Here’s the kicker: the driver made us pay to return the suitcase – despite the fact that he forgot to open the trunk and drove off instead. #fail, City Service Taxi #fail! Avoid, avoid, avoid!

I pre ordered a cab to go to airport. They lost my reservation. I Called again and no one showed up and then had to call again. Terrible service!!!

WOW. I was harassed, verbally assaulted, chased down and photographed by an enraged cab driver from City Service Taxi. I wish I could put up his cab number so you NEVER get into his cab. I was inching through an oncoming intersection trying to get across, I thought I could make it, but avoided a collision by several feet with this cab driver. I initially waved an apology, however, he stopped in front of me, preventing me from getting through the intersection. He began to yell, refused to move and annoyed I went around flipped him off and drove away. He chased me down the street to the next intersection. he photographed my car from behind and then pulled up next to me and continued to harass and berate me, swearing calling me a drunk b*, «a murderer», and told me to «stop killing people» and, as he was foaming at the mouth, declared he was reporting me to the police. WTF??? What a freak. Call the police? You are chasing me down the street taking photographs of me and my personal property and verbally assaulting me. I called the «supervisor» explaining the situation. He didn’t seemed very surprised at my complaint… however we were «disconnected» twice before I gave up pursuing. I’ve reported the cabbie to the city of Chicago. Beware.

Shadiness seems to be a way of business for this company.
On a Saturday night my friends and I got into a cab and after dropping them off the driver made his way north to drop me off. It was one of those nights and I apparently left my phone in the cab, but good news I had a receipt so I knew what cab company I had used.
Step #1 — I called them first thing Sunday morning to report the lost phone. Nothing had been turned in, but they filed a report.
Step #2 — My friend called my phone to see if someone had it. The cab driver actually answered and spoke with my friend. He alleges that we still owed him $ 11 for the fare but he set up a time to drop off the phone on Monday night at 8pm (he was off on Sunday). Seems like there are still decent people in the world so I’ll gladly pay the guy $ 11 to get my phone back. The meeting time rolls around and he didn’t show up, and wasn’t answering the phone. After waiting around for 30 min I finally head home since it doesn’t appear that the guy is actually going to show. At 8:39pm my friend received a text message from me… or rather the cab driver who has my phone. «Hi sorry cant come» My friend responds «So what now? I need the phone?» He responds «Im not around im by o hare later be in city sorry» Ok, no problem. I’m willing to work around his schedule to get my phone back. They set up 7pm on Tuesday night for him to drop the phone off at her house. And… he said his cab # was 616.
Tuesday night I make the trek back to my friend’s house so I can meet the driver and get my phone back. At 7:09pm we text my phone «Can you please let me know if you are coming with the phone» just so we would know how long of a wait we were looking at. This is where the supposed good samaritan loses credibility. His response «How much u will give me». My friend and I are both a little stunned, but hey… I want my phone back. We respond with «$ 20, come on dude do the right thing» A few minutes go by and now I realize the guy is just a jerk. «U didnt pay for ride now u want ur phone so I will come lost my time again for u very nice of u… show some respect» We promptly responded «I said we would pay for the ride and an extra $ 20 to drop the phone. $ 31 and I am being respectful» He responded right away «Buy new phone».
As we’re standing in my friends kitchen I can feel the anger boiling up in me. I’m confused how this went from something so simple to now being extorted just to get my phone back. With our patience running out we respond «You have to be kidding me. U said u would drop it off. If you can’t drop it can you just turn it into dispatch so we can pick it up and pay our fare, please». And the driver fires back «Live 100 $ I drop phone tmrw after noon.» At this point I call the dispatch company again and explain to the woman on the phone what is happening. While I’m on the phone with her another text comes in «Yes or no». I relay this to the dispatcher and while she has me on hold so she can contact the driver his final message pops into the inbox «Forget it about I see u don’t need ur phone buy newone good luck». Having lost all patience I respond «I am on the phone with your dispatcher now». No surprise to me… he didn’t respond.
So this morning I get to work and have a voicemail from the cab company. The driver says he doesn’t have your phone and nothing has been turned in. Their explanation… perhaps a passenger after me found it and that is who has been texting me. Sorry… not buying that. So I call 311 to report the matter. Hopeful that something could be done, but not really banking on it since it was my fault for leaving the phone in the cab after all. I file the police report and explain what had happened AND provided them the screen shots of the text conversation. I call the cab company back just to see if the report that I filed with them has any sort of tracking # and the dispatcher transfers me to Carmen. Carmen listens as I explain the situation to her and I again ask for a tracking # on the report of a lost phone so I can provide it for the police report and she says she will look into it and call me back. About an hour later she calls and says that neither the owner of the car nor the driver have my phone. Of course they’re going to say they don’t have the phone, but the text conversation I have clearly shows it was the cab driver.
So now the phone has been suspended and put on the lost list with Verizon, so if anyone tries to activate it Verizon will know it is a stolen phone. A spare phone has been activated and even though it’s not the device I had… at least I have a phone again. It seems there are other reviews out there about similar situations happening with this company. I don’t want to believe that the entire company is shady, but until I have proof otherwise I will go out of my way to use any cab service other than City Service Taxi Association.

My friend left his phone in the cab we shared on Saturday night, my other friend who was in the cab as well that night was able to contact the cabbie by texting the lost phone. A time was set up for the cab driver to bring the phone by on Monday night (the earliest he could make it). Monday comes and goes and he doesn’t show, a new time is set up for the following night, again he doesn’t show. This time he responds asking how much the phone is worth to my friend and won’t consider returning it for less than $ 100. Following that up with «Yes or no?» and then «Forget about it, I see u don’t need ur phone buy new one good luck».
After speaking with the cab dispatch and filing a police report the cab driver now claims it was never him texting from the lost phone. Needless to say I won’t ever give this
business — onto share on FB and Yellow Pages. Good luck you crooks!

We specifically called & asked for a larger minivan cab because we were moving & had some cleaning supplies & a few odds and ends left. The cab showed up & called but drove off before I could answer the call. While we were standing on the side walk he came back & then flat out refused us and drove off without any comment. I called Yellow Cab to ask what had just happened and the guy was very snippy with me and told me that any cab can refuse any passenger and then made me go through an inventory of everything we had and with each item told me that any cab he called would refuse us. I asked him to send a cab anyway since we were already on the phone. The next cab did take us but we practically had to beg. The 2^nd driver was nice enough once we convinced him to take us.

If you need to call a cab, call anyone else. This was my second evening spent calling them… waiting… calling again… waiting… giving up and finding another cab.
Don’t waste your time with these bozos.

Okay, guys. .. can you just ACCEPT that you’re going to be taking credit cards from now on?
I don’t want the eye rolls, the head waggle (I know what that means), the «this is going to take awhile», the «your card was declined.» (NO, it WASN’T.), the «my machine is broken.» (NO, it’s not.). The, «oh gosh, I have to call this in.» No muttering in another language (I know what you’re saying if it’s a certain eastern language, ya sharmuta. Kuss emek!). Don’t ask me «eh, do you have cash?»
Do it. My card. Otherwise, my ride is FREE, get it? Or, it’s maybe the $ 1 I happen to have in my wallet.
I want to swipe my working (I know it works. I don’t have many pennies, but ever penny I do have is in order. Therefore, I know my credit score, bitches. My cards work. Every time.) credit card, add your many times ill-​deserved tip and get on out of there to walk my dog, dammit.
You make my precious dog wait 15 extra minutes for his morning walkie? You get less tip. That’s just the way it is.
INSTALL THE MACHINES LIKE THEY HAVE IN NEW YORK!
I want to post this review on every cab company in Chicago, because there are still so few that have the efficient, easy machines. We all had to embrace working with computers in about oh — 1986, why don’t you get with the program already!?!

I travel a lot, and reserve a cab to the airport at least once a week. I’ve always used Yellow Cab, for no good reason — it always took at least 15 minutes to book the cab, they have no loyalty programs, and they never did anything to acknowledge the heavy business. I even stuck it out with them when a driver auto-​called my house 5 times, at 4:30 AM, after I’d asked specifically for no calls when i made the reservation. Last week, though, I booked them for my usual trip, and they showed up 20 minutes late. 20 MINUTES! I called as soon as they were late, kept calling every 5 minutes, and never got anythign but «oh, they’ll be there in a few minutes». The driver finally turned up, GRINNING!, did not apologize, and then ran two stopsigns when i told him i needed to be on my flight in 30 minutes. Adiós Yellow Cab, and shame on you.

It’s currently 15 degrees in Chicago and I guess everyone needs a cab. I called several other cab companies and they said it would take 1 hour to get a ride. So, I called this company at 730pm to set up a pickup and they called me back at 8 and said the cab was «5 mins away.» The guy never showed up!!! I am now 20 mins late for a sleep study. This company sucks and I don’t know if I will even make it to my appt. at all tonight (I had to set up another pickup with this company… I had no other choice). Grrrrrrrr.

If I could give this lousy business minus stars I would. Once again Yellow Cab has foiled my fun again. And to top of it off I have to deal with the rude attitudes of the operator people. Thanks for wasting my night jerks. I’m deleting your number out of my cellphone once and for good.
