My boyfriend and I went to Yuki Hana for an impromptu date night using a groupon. We walked in and were seated pretty quickly and made sure to mention the Groupon so they would give us the correct menu. We chose a couple sushi rolls and an order of edamame. The sushi was delicious, the rolling technique left a little to be desired(they almost all fell apart) but the flavors were wonderful. We reached the end of our meal and our server who I sadly didn’t get the name of got our groupon code and gave us our tab. It was basically just tax. I got out my debit card and the server informed us that they only do card charges for tabs over $ 10. Not a huge deal, but our total was $ 2.63 and with tip it probably would have been $ 10. But this apparently wasn’t an option — I mentioned to my boyfriend and the server overheard that it would have been nice if he would have mentioned that when he set down the check. Most people don’t carry cash unless we know we’re going to a cash only bar/restaurant. The server then turns around and says«so you expected me to know that you were going to pay with a card?» Not exactly polite… So I responded with«I wasn’t meaning to be rude but…» Then got cut off and was told«well it was rude» and walked away. I then looked at my boyfriend, dismayed and let him take over for paying the rest of our tab. I walked out before I got too frustrated with the poor attitude of the waitstaff and by reading some of the other reviews, apparently I’m not the only one who was underwhelmed. We were super excited to someday go again and try the Korean BBQ and the all you can eat, especially since it’s right around the corner from my apartment. But now we definitely aren’t going back thanks to one terrible and rude comment from that server.

Sauce on the veggie soba I had was WAY too heavy and hardly any veggies. Basically just noodles and sauce.

Eh. I was conflicted about what rating to give this place. The sushi was 2 stars, Korean BBQ4 stars, but I could only rate the service 1 star, which unfortunately dragged down the rating. Like many others have noted, the sushi isn’t great but come for the Korean BBQ if you can put up with the sullen service. My kids and I came here on a Sunday for the ACYE sushi/Korean BBQ. My 14 year old and I were charged regular price of $ 21.95, which my other 2 kids were charged half-price, which I think was very fair, since they are little and don’t eat that much. We ordered 6 rolls of sushi to share, along with a few pieces of unagi nigiri from the Japanese portion of the menu. My nigiri never arrived, even though they were noted on the bill. The sushi was served at too warm of a temperature with skimpy fillings and rolled so loosely that they promptly fell apart when picked up by chopsticks. They tasted on par with the pre made sushi that often sat out for hours at Chinese buffets. Not good! But we diligently finished everything to avoid being charged for leftovers. From the Korean BBQ side, a nice selection of banchan was brought out, along with a big platter of meat that included bulgogi, kalbi, chicken, octopus, and spicy pork. We only cooked the bulgogi and kalbi, and asked the other untouched meats be brought back to the kitchen to avoid waste. Our fire kept going out so I had to go search for the waitress(or was she the owner? She seemed to be dressed too nicely so was probably the owner. At any rate she was the only one taking orders and bringing out the food.) multiple times because we never came to check on how we were doing. Every time I asked for help with the grill, I felt her irritation and iciness, to the point where I tried to avoid talking to her if at all possible. We did ask for 2 more orders of the kalbi and I thought she was going to say no by her cold stare and I didn’t know if she was actually going to bring us anymore food or not. Keep in mind we were still well within our 1.5 hour time limit and had finished all of our other food! I tried to be overly nicely to compensate for her sullen behavior, but she never warmed up. I thought it was weird that I, as a paying customer, had to bend over backwards to be nice and be thanking her for bringing us any food at all? That was just wrong! And of course a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the meal but I didn’t contest it because A) I was being nice, and B) I just wanted to leave the place already. We could have eaten more but I couldn’t handle having to ask her for anything anymore. So no matter how good the Korean BBQ was, I would rather pay more to enjoy my meal better somewhere else!

I went in with my girlfriend on Sunday afternoon which was apparently during their happy hour which went on until 7. The service was mediocre at best. Consider the fact that there were a total of 8 people including the two of us and yet it took an average of 20 minutes to bring out a 6 piece roll. If you happen to find yourself there on a Sunday afternoon expect to find really cheap sushi hence the low prices which is somewhat understandable. Also, make sure to bring cash because even though there are credit card signs on the front door they only take cash during this time. Wouldn’t be such a bad idea to put up a sign or let people know before they sit down. The ATM, as they all do, will charge you $ 3. Overall it wasn’t worth it. The best part of the entire experience was getting a big can of Sapporo for $ 5 or Miller Lite for $ 3. It’s a shame though because they can do so much with this location. I do not plan on going back.

I love the fact that the AYCE option included both stay and KBBQ for $ 21.99! Don’t expect to have the same amount of options as a regular buffet. However, the sushi buffet does offer a decent variety of options(appetizers, salad, making rolls and nigiri.) The KBBQ had marinated chicken, beef, pork, pork belly, baby octopus and beef brisket(you get all of this in the first round.) We didn’t care that the options were less than other places since the food was very tasty. Plus it was both sushi and KBBQ! Dont be greedy ppl, you’re getting two for the price of one. We didn’t go for round two because we were satisfied at the end of all that. We went around 9pm so they were closing soon but they didn’t mind that we stayed and finish our food. Of course we didn’t want to hold them up either. The staff was amazing and attentive to our table, explaining how the buffet option works, making sure that we had everything we wanted before the kitchen closed. Overall we had a great experience here! We would definitely recommend the restaurant to others and looking forward to going back.

I was hesitant to come here at first because of the mixed reviews, but I had a great experience overall. My friend and I came here on a Friday night and were immediately seated. We didn’t believe that it cost $ 22 for BOTH Sushi and Korean BBQ. They forgot to bring us water and utensils but the service compensated for it; the staff was kind to us and consistently checked up on us throughout the meal and the food came out almost immediately after we ordered each time. Some of the house rules for the all-you-can-eat foods was a time limit of 1.5 hours, and no ordering after 1 hour. But that wasn’t really an issue for us anyways. There was convenient metered parking right in front of the restaurant and all around the area, so parking was not an issue. At first, you get a bowl of Miso soup– it was all broth and pretty average, so we didn’t really touch it. We ordered some appetizers(included in the $ 22 fee): the fried calamari and teriyaki beef potstickers and crab rangoon. They were all good and tasted as you would expect. The Korean BBQ was worth it. At first, they give you a combination platter of all the meats. And they said that they wouldn’t charge for any meat that we did not cook for the first platter. Afterwards, you are able to order any combination of the meats that you want. The beef brisket and pork belly were the only non-seasoned meats, so we didn’t end up reordering them. I was pleasantly surprised by the marinade on the chicken and pork! Pork is probably my least favorite meat to eat and chicken is either hit or miss, but in this case, it was delicious. The marinated beef and short ribs were good and up to par with any other Korean BBQ that I’ve had in the past. I didn’t have the sushi, but my friend did, and said that she preferred the BBQ. The rule with sushi was not to waste it, otherwise there would be additional charges. Overall, the food was good. The food is very straight-forward traditional flavors, and very filling for the price.

Slowest service I have had the displeasure of dealing with. Even after ordering ahead of time and during our meal we spent a good 90 minuets for our total evening. This is without a crowd and i saw three or four servers running around. Its mainly the sushi chefs goofing off in the kitchen. I couldn’t immagine getting one’s money worth for all you can eat. The rolls are not large enough to split and are very overpriced for their size. One would need to order at least 3 or 4 and that’s an equivalent of $ 30 per person. I don’t give this restaurant 1 star because the food was tasty but definitely will not be going back due to their service and pricy menu.

This place is ok, I’ve been to better places… Sushi rolls are tasteless. Jewel Osco definitely makes much better sushi and Osco’s sushi aren’t that always great… Customer service is not that great(ie ‘no-can-do’ and ‘it’s your fault’ attitude). Buffet offers are a major rip-off… will be going to Jewel Osco next time I want sushi.

It’s BYOB, however not sure if it’s like this all day but during the weekday afternoon they charged us 5.00 for our wine. Not happy but it was 5:00 somewhere so meh. Our waitress was pretty shitty throughout our entire meal. She barely tend to us the entire time and was just not friendly and seemed pretty rude. I have had great service here before so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Now the rolls in themselves are a notch above decent but what really has me sold is how cheap it is! We got three rolls: the 312, Rock n roll and the Mclovin. All pretty good not amazing but pretty good can’t complain. 4.00 a roll! Again, idk if this is an early bird special but either way totally worth it. So we ask for our bill right after we ordered the Mclovin last minute. By the way, I had to ask for plates when she brought out our Mclovin since they took our last plates away and I got the biggest tude! Sorry I need a plate to eat, anyways I digress. Our bill comes out to 20.00!!! That was including our last minute order. I knew it was too good to be true but I wasn’t saying anything. Low and behold 20 minutes later our grumpy waitress came back with a new check that was 26.00. She forgot to tack on the 5.00 charge for our wine. REALLY! Couldn’t just let it go, smh seriously taxing for day drinking. Still, pretty cheap but entirely not professional and really wished she would have had it right to begin with. Didn’t even say sorry or anything just swapped them out and walked away. Not the best service, decent sushi and cheap prices. Overall solid 3. Ps parking sucks and it’s all pay to park.

I ordered delivery and spent 15.00 on a chicken teriyaki bowl that came with about three or four pieces of actual teriyaki chicken. The rest consisted of a small roll of sushi and some rice. This honestly made no sense to me because I thought I was paying for a teriyaki chicken bowl… Which generally consists of chicken and rice, not just a side pocket of it. What the heck? I also ordered the bulgogi chicken for 25.00 and was just not impressed. The food was more bland than what I’m used to. Honestly I didn’t end up finishing it and had to throw it out because it just sat in my fridge for like two weeks and nobody wanted to eat it. Overall, it wasn’t horrible but it’s not that good either.

Found a bone in my spicy white tuna roll and the manager refused to take it off of the bill. She removed the five dollar fee for bringing my own alcohol which was definitely not the same price as the roll. Then the manager tried to justify that it was normal to have a bone now and again. Never in my life have I found a bone in my sushi or a manager that showed no care for the only customers in the restaurant.

After reading the awful service reviews on here, I was hesitant to go but $ 22 for ayce sushi and korean bbq sounded to good to pass up! We were actually seated right away and brought Korean side dishes fairly quick. It was kind of weird that they didn’t ask which korean bbq meat we wanted. they just bring you a combination plate(they charge additional if you dont finish the meat you cook). Our sushi was pretty slow to come out but we went when they first opened and it looked like they only had one sushi chef so it was understandable. Overall, everything was average or above average so I’d definitely go again!

Food here is definitely not my favorite, but doable considering I get both sushi and Korean BBQ. I’ve always been a big fan of fried stuff so I was not impressed by their rolls with the shrimp tempura. The batter was tasteless and the shrimp tempura was just soggy in every roll. I guess it is safe to assume that the shrimp tempura were pre-fried and placed to the side(left out in the cold) to get soggy. They were mostly covered in sauces to attempt to get rid of some fishy taste, but fails. There’s a lot of sauces involved in the rolls. I am assuming the boss lady is the one who works most of the hours(especially when it was assumed to be downtime) and she was impatient. I recalled ordering sushi by their rules and wanted to order an appetizer and she just flat out said no because I reached the limit. This was without her looking at the order that she wrote down before I continued to ask if they count towards the sushi order because I only ordered one roll(maki) and two nigiri. Perhaps it isn’t the establishment’s fault, but I had to experience gawking from a party seated a table away diagonally across from me. I placed a piece of meat in my mouth and had to watch a girl cringe. Lost my appetite after that. I just wished there was more privacy… Also, throughout the meal, it was freezing cold. I guess they assumed we will be warmed from the heat coming from the BBQ. It’s just not a pleasant experience to sit in there to wait and freeze the whole time we were there. Been here on several occasions and it’s always the same. Though, when we do have waitresses, they were attentive on Saturdays. Expect to get your orders messed up on busy days(Saturday evenings).

We went in for the unlimited sushi for $ 22 and it was totally worth it. My boyfriend and I had I think 10 rolls — favorites were the one with the 773, the Chi Town Heat and one more that was a number that I can’t remember. We had some standard, get-anywhere rolls too that were great. This was GOOD sushi. It wasn’t like the best, to-die-for sushi, but it was definitely delicious and worth the $$ to do the unlimited. We will be back! Oh, and our waiter was an absolute doll. I wish I knew his name. Skinny with dark hair. Super sweet as we ordered our bajillion rolls and scarfed them down like total fatties. #cheatday

My boyfriend and I were very excited to try this place out, unlimited Korean bbq and sushi for only $ 21.99 a person? Didn’t seem like we could find a better deal than that. We’re very familiar with Korean bbq and how everything usually works, but this place was strange right from the beginning. We came on a Saturday afternoon, around 3pm, and there was only two other people eating at the same time as us. Usually at other kbbq restaurants we get a choice on what meat we want to get, but our server told us the kbbq comes in a combo. Not a big deal, just a surprise since that wasn’t written on the menu or anything. We ordered 1 diablo, the golden scallo, 1 dragon roll, and an assortment of different pieces of nigiri. The food was delicious, don’t get me wrong about that part. The sushi was the right size and the kbbq was marinated. It’s just that the service needs a lot of work. We did not get plates to put our cooked meat on, and we did not get water unless we asked 30 minutes into our meal. We were often sitting and just waiting for anyone to notice we needed something. Our grill was extremely burnt at this point and we had to raise our hand and flag someone down to change it. If you are willing to try this place out, keep in mind that the service will most likely not be there. We ordered once, and our server disappeared during our entire meal. If we needed something we couldn’t get it. The food’s amazing, the service isn’t.

Checked out Yuki Hana from a groupon, only ate sushi, need to come back to try the Korean BBQ. Overall, on paper the rolls sounded pretty good, but it wasn’t the highest quality/best flavor for the price. It wasn’t bad, just not the best I’ve had in Chicago so far. Still continuing my quest for the best sushi place in the city, I’ve heard Yuzu is pretty awesome(pictures look amazing). The BBQ smelled awesome, the service was good. I’ll come back to try the BBQ but skip it next time I get the sushi craving.

Maybe I came on an off day, otherwise I’d just give this place two stars. I had the all you can eat Korean bbq and sushi for 21.99! This was such an amazing deal! The Korean bbq was good. I eat out at a lot of Korean bbq places and the meat here was really good. Their sides for the Korean bbq also went really well with the meal. The only thing is that they give you a combination plate rather than letting you choose your own meat. On the upside, I explained how much I really like chadol and kalbi so they were very generous giving me those dishes. I didn’t have enough sushi to judge that but the sushi I did have was just okay. Nobody greeted us when we came in. We saw people looking at us but nobody came for quite a while, which made us feel very awkward. There were two ladies taking care of us, one asian and one white. The asian lady didn’t speak English and the white lady had a hard time explaining things because she didn’t speak English very well either, but she was very friendly and tried very hard. She was really forgetful though. The asian lady was not attentive at all. We ordered right away because we knew what we wanted, and we waited FOREVER for the food to come out. We waited a really long time! They were so slow at bringing out the food which was weird to me because we cook the bbq ourselves. They explained to us that whatever meat we cooked but didn’t eat would get an extra charge. When they did bring out the food, I’m assuming the asian lady didn’t know what we were doing so she put a huge slab of chicken on the grill. I didn’t want to cook the chicken because I knew I wasn’t going to eat it so here we were with a bunch of cooked chicken. We had to stomach it down because we didn’t want to get charged extra for the cooked meat. There wasn’t really any type of ambiance. The left the windows open which made the restaurant very loud and cold. I really had high hopes for this place because my friends raved about it. I will try it again to see if I do have a better experience next time.
