I’ve visited Zacatacos before, the one on 71st and Pulaski. I was very satisfied with the quality. But today I went to lunch to the one on 59th. Ordered a carne asada burrito. It was over priced, meat was cold, and over seasoned. That’s 3 strikes in one visit. Won’t be giving them my business again.

Excellent tacos and impressive chips and salsa. The prices are reasonable and the menu is extensive. I want to return with the family; good fit both a casual work lunch or family outing.

Definitely the last time I’ll be ordering food from here. On Sunday I order a torta de milanesa no sour cream and no tomatoes. I get home ready to eat it and guess what there was only sour cream and tomatoes in it. I called and they told me I could go pick a new one up or go back with in 7 days. Today I finally stop by and get my order redone. The milanesa felt so slimy and cold I called them And explained and asked for a refund only to get told that maybe I’m too picky with the way I want my food. But because I originally paid for my food on Sunday I couldn’t get my money back. I will definitely not be ordering from here ever again.

The more I order from here the more disappointing it is. They have managed not only to screw up almost every to go order I’ve placed, forcing me to make a second trip back, but now I find out they have added hidden charges that are not on their menu. Please look over your receipt carefully. Apparently if you order a skirt steak dinner and ask that they not chop it into little pieces they have an extra charge. The owners consider it «extra work». REALLY??? Sorry to make you work for something YOU have on your menu. Who charges extra for not cutting up steak. Quality of This place has really gone down. :/

If I could I would give this location ZERO stars. We have had so many problems here. The first one was undercook meat on my wife’s torta. It was completely raw. Then last week I ordered take out and I was given the wrong order and I had to go back in and tell them they forgot 3 tacos and an order of jalapeños. The person in charged argued with me and the. Only gave me 3 tacos which where full of meat with fat an inedible as well as only 1 chile instead of three which I ordered! Plus it doesn’t end there when I originally picked up the order they charged my card the wrong order and over charged me $ 20! This place is horrible run! I called to complain to a manager the next day and got the run around and they never followed through with crediting my card for the shit kind of meal that I purchased. Stay away from this location and avoid the horrible food and customer service

This is the closest Zacatacos to my home but I stopped coming to this location because they refused to add cheese to my Carne Asada order. It’s not like I wasn’t going to pay for it. They said they could’t make custom orders… ridiculous. Also, good luck finding parking here.

Their asada is worth crossing the construction line and puddles I had to get through, not to mention the limited parking. I have been looking for half decent gorditas for years and decided to try theirs. Not bad except the cheese to bean ratio is a bit off. The salsa is just the right amount of hot and not watered down. The service wait time isn’t bad. Didn’t check the bathrooms because I feared for the safety of my dangerously parked car.

was on a quest for some nachos and a friend recommend this place to me. so I decided to come here after work the next day lol I ordered steak tacos and steak nachos. the tacos was decent. pretty average the nachos was great. it was packed with cheese, steak, guacamole, sour cream, etc. also a few people that was ahead of me in line ordered steak nachos also so I guess it is a pretty popular item on their menu. would definitely come back to order their steak nachos again.

Really? This place has dropped the ball so bad. Every since they remodeled the place the staff they have hired is bad to say the least. Very disappointing. The only star was for the food which still taste decent. This is probably the 8th time they manage to screw up my order. I ordered 5 tacos de Lengua and got 4 of Asada instead. Not to mention half of a Gordita… you might be thinking half??? Please refer to the pictures. Thanks for screwing up my experience at what used to be one of my favorite places on the south side.

Like a lot of reviewers are stating, this place used to be a lot better. It is still good, however depending on what you order. I came with my parents who ordered the Carne Asada Picada it is $ 8.95, but they charge you an extra $ 1.25 to slice it for you. I think that this is ridiculous and poor customer service. I ordered a taco which is $ 2.65. You can easily make two tacos out of one since it comes with two tortillas and a lot of meat, so really it’s like $ 1.30 per great tasting taco. I’m deducting two stars for unenthusiastic and slow service, I really felt unwelcome. Also, because of the $ 2.50 charge to slice your steak for you. I really can’t get over how ridiculous this is. If you visit just get a taco and make two out of one. Our bill came out to $ 25 with no drinks, just water. Next time, I’ll just buy a pound of arachera and a $ 30 cent dozen of El Milagro tortillas and make tacos at home for a quarter of the price.

Really good place to bring your family or friends they recently remodeled the restaurant so now you can dine in and not just carry out. Their food is very good to say the least. Definitely recommend!

Best steak tacos in town. You can watch them grill the meat behind the counter. They have vegetarian options which are good, but nothing spectacular. Chicken is meh… This place is known for steak, so No matter what you order make sure there is some steak in the dish. Oops. This is for 71st st. location.

Man, I’m so over this place. Look: Zacatacos used to be bomb back in the day, but obviously someone dropped the ball. Had the unfortunate displeasure of encountering their cashier, Ana, whose attitude and cheap acrylic nails restrained her from the ability to be even decent at her job. Waited for minutes while she talked to other people and struggled with her cumbersome plastic digits on a screen to take our order. Not even a «thanks” – I think we got a mumbled and barely coherent«havanicdayokay.» Smh. Go to El Solazo instead – right up the street, and they’re doing the taco game better.

I have been a fan, customer for over 15 years. All of their locations taste the same and are good. After arriving from out of town, I decided to grab a bit to eat with my friend. We ordered burritos, steak & ground beef, guacamole & chips & an horchata. Went home to eat it and when I got towards the middle of my burrito I noticed an odd taste in my mouth. I took items out and noticed a long strain of brown hair was wrapped up in the meat. I went back to restaurant to get a refund but the mgr Albina, a non-speaking English lady, said she would only give me a refund for 1 burrito not both. I asked for corporate # and the answered, Jocelyn, got a mgr on phone, Pasquel, whom I told the same incident to and he apologized and said to go back and he will call Albina to give a refund for the other burrito. She had an attitude and demanded my receipt for her records. I took my receipt back and told her I need it in case I get sick. I came home and vomited 3 times. I won’t ever patronize them in my life again. #hairnets

One Of The Best Food Spots Of Chicago. My Opinion. I Love This Place. The Steak & Chicken Prepared Here With Various Combos And Dishes Definitely Set Them Far Ahead Of Other«Authentic» Claiming Counterparts. From The Salsa’s To The Entrees I’m Positive You will Be Pleased.

This is one of my favorite Mexican food spots in the city. The food always comes out fresh to made and nothing on the menu ever disappointed me. The only thing missing at this place are the carrots on the side other then that u can’t go wrong with anything you order. Food portions are large the steak is charbroiled just right and flavorful. They just updated the dining area so u don’t have to order to go anymore. Definitely worth checking out if ur craving Mexican food.

Tried the Carne Asada Tacos. Good flavor, a little char broiled. Good hot sauce red or green. My friend had the Carne Asada Burrito which was good too. There are a lot of good taco places around there but I will remember this one. I understand it was one of the first in the area too. They have a pretty full menu including Guacamole which was excellent. I’m sure I will be back when I can.

This is my favorite of all their locations.Idk. The food just seems to taste better. But you really can’t go wrong at ANY of their spots. Charbroiled steak tacos are on point!!! I always have to have at least one when I order. Love their gorditas de rajas con queso and quesadillas al pastor as well. They’ve been SUPERSUCCESSFUL for a reason. I could honestly take a blind taste test of their steak tacos and KNOW when Im having ZACATACOS. Just DELICIOUS!!!

Muy mala mi torta de milanesa. Seca y sin sabor. La carne muy dura y seca. Las gorditas están bien. Recomiendo las de lengua.
