My boyfriend and I found this place while adventuring around Pigeon Mountain. From the very first visit we were met with smiling and gracious staff, hot delicious food, and gorgeous scenery. We thoroughly enjoyed eating our dinner with a view of the mountains out of the window. We love the«hometown» feel of the restaurant because of its smaller and cozy atmosphere. We have both became regulars with our waiter Tyler knowing our order by heart. The staff here is so welcoming, that the chef comes out almost EVERY time to chat and ask us how our meal is. There can be a longer wait for your meal to come out if they are a bit busy, but once you taste the burgers and BBQ its all worth it!

Our caving guides recommended this Grill to us after a morning of climbing around underground, so myself and two tweens drove opposite our way home – about 10 minutes – to check it out. We arrived right around noon, just before the Church crowd arrived, but were about the 5th table(there are about 10 total). Our waitress(the only waitress) quickly took our drink orders and as she brought them back, asked if we were ready to order. As the boys were using the restroom, I asked her to «Give us a minute» and that… was my mistake. For right after that, she began taking orders from three of the large tables ahead of us. The next hour and a half were painful, as I watched one order at a time come out. When you know there are 15 people ahead of you, and you watch the plates come out once every 5 minutes, you know you’re in trouble. But, we were starving and already«out of the way» so we waited. While we waited, one couple came in, waited a while and then left(the smart ones), several ladybugs joined us at our table and a bumble-bee dive-bombed my son, prompting him to react hysterically – good fun. But once our food did arrive, it was good and hot. The fries were at least thrice-cooked, but still tasty. Were we not already 2 hours into our lunch at a «Grill,» I would have enjoyed it more. The owner did apologize and knocked off one of our plates from the total bill, but the two hours of my Sunday I lost, makes this a «don’t go back» destination.

Fantastic staff and mouthwatering offerings. We had the burger, the beef stew and a round of icecold beers. Everything was delicious and very fresh. The quality of the beef is fantastic and we were happy to learn that it came from local grass fed cows! The staff went well out of their way to welcome us to the community and provided us with a warm friendly conversation. We will absolutely be back!

I was really surprised about this place. We try to mainly eat pastured beef when we do eat it. The prices on their online menu seemed so low for this type of meal, so I was curious and skeptical. I ordered the mushroom and Swiss burger, which was a special that day, I think. I also got macaroni salad on the side. The salad is difficult to mess up, but it was average, yet very fresh. I order my burgers rare. I basically like them walked through a warm room. The burger came out a little on the medium rare side, but there was still plenty of pink and flavor… and there was flavor. This was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. The mushrooms were sauteed in a very flavorful sauce and the burger was stacked high and was very juicy. My husband ordered the hamburger steak(medium), and he seemed to enjoy it. His onion rings were good. Our server was very friendly, and basically left us alone, and we received drinks in a timely manner. I would definitely go back.

I was surprised when two Cheeseburger Lunch combos came out to $ 30. Upon asking Tyler, our server to show me an itemized receipt and explain the abnormally high total, I was met with anger and profuse sweating. Tyler told me I was«pissing him off» by asking for a receipt and that I should just leave since he had a lot of work to do. After a moment of shocked silence I repeated my request and finally got him to sort of admit there’d been a mistake at which point he began pulling cash out of his pocket and waving it at me while asking me to leave. I tried to explain that at this point I didn’t care about the money per se, but instead felt undervalued and disrespected as a customer. Tyler shrugged and began sarcastically hollering«have a nice day!» And pointing toward the door. I waited tables for many years and am very conscious of how stressful it can be. Likewise, I don’t feel comfortable adopting a hateful tone with service personnel, who are subject to so much abuse. I try to give the benefit of the doubt. Still, I’ve never seen a member of the service industry display such a blatant contempt for customer satisfaction. It was dehumanizing. This was a regular stop for us and now we won’t return. I’d advise you not to either. Nobody should have to wait 55 minutes for $ 30 cheeseburgers and then suffer verbal abuse at the hands of a sweating waiter. I’m not mad. But there are plenty of places to eat on the world. No reason to give money to people who not only don’t care about you or your experience, but actually curse at you.

I have eaten here several times on Sunday’s when I’ve come to nearby Pigeon Mountain WMA. I enjoy the hamburgers and BBQ pork sandwiches. By Sunday the ribs are always gone. Ribs are cooked on Friday and I am 200 miles away on Friday. So I am told the ribs are very good. The food on Sunday’s is very good as well the staff is friendly and the service is good. I believe you will enjoy your meal, too.
