Let me start by saying I’ve never felt the need to write a review online to bash anything/anyone, but I am an avid cyclist and had the most horrible service here at campus. I went in and purchased all new bars and tape, with a full tune up, and also a rack I liked. Great start. I walked away with a bike with a crooked front tire, brake cable looser than before, and tape I was completely horrified by, the grip(in popular defense I wasn’t aware it would look like Gucci print when I bought it, but the guy had the tenacity to tell me he thought it looked great) didn’t cut it. I went back almost 3 times, every time, around the block to find a new problem. They never once offered a fixable fee from my $ 145 tune up with bars, tape, and a rack. I will never return. Unhappy after three visits in 30 min. PLENTYOFOTHEROPTIONSINCHICO. Edit: In recent news. My back tire is flat less then two hours later. Pinched tube. Work in 10 hours.

The guys at Campus Bicycles were so kind and helpful, even when I only came to look for a bike lock! I enjoy the way the shop is set up, I like the vibe, and the prices weren’t too damaging to my bank account. Will be coming back.

Campus bicycles is the only bike shop I go to now. I’ve been to a couple other ones but campus does me right every time. I pop my tire pretty frequently and they are always nice and quick to fix the flat. They have hooked me up from time to time for going in so much, which really helped me out. And every time I go in we are joking around and what not. As far as the manager goes, I haven’t really had much interaction with him except for small talk here and there. But each time he was polite and laid back. Go to campus bicycles. Great prices and customer service.

Very happy with Campus Bikes! Was able to find just the right Trek bike for my wife. Comfortable space to take the bike for a test drive, no pressure, and honest, no BS information. Ended up getting a great price, very happy, and price was extremely competitive(lower than anywhere else)! A nice wide variety of parts and accessories, too… you can find more stuff than just the regular run-of-the-mill-made-in-China junk here, too! So, yes, Budd, the owner may not be your best friend, or you may be a sensitive sally, and stomp out because you were offended by something he said, or something. So what? He’s a decent guy who runs a good business, and he’s a little abrasive — he has outstanding employees who are awesome to interact with and work with. They do great work, they are honest, and at the end of the day, you end up with just what you need. That’s my opinion, at least. I do have to say I had a much better experience at Campus Bikes, as opposed to another bike shop down the street, with the weirdo, condescending bike salesman who was SUPER rude.

Just visiting; I forgot that some time ago Chico was named Best Bike Town on Bicycling Magazine but after seeing the atmosphere I remembered, I did a search for party school on chico/yelp and CSU came up, just like once on Playboy, just bought a couple of items but staff was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, the best., bicycle repair stand center stage and downtown, wish I had taken a couple of pictures.,

I went in looking for my first road bike as a student at Chico State. Bud was very helpful and to the point with all of the questions I had. The bike mechanic James showed be a couple things before I left and adjusted my seat. They are very honest and helpful; won’t rip you off.

The staff was very helpful. My daughter looked a few bikes(even though she is not really a bike rider) and wasn’t excited about buying a new bike. We decided to bring her old bike in to get the problematic back tire looked at and fixed correctly and the bike tuned ip. Since the staff knew we(my wife and I) were visiting for the day, I think they made an extra effort to get bike done same day. 3 hours later my daughter got a text that bike had been fixed and was ready to go. It looked great since they lubed everything and really cleaned up the bike. I would recommend this place if you need your bike fixed or looking for a new bike.

I needed an affordable way to have my breaks tightened on my old custom made manual wheelchair so I can continue using it safely. James was very helpful and did an excellent job making the necessary repairs. He even rolled my chair across the street where the paratransit van was parked. I’ll definitely return to Campus Bicycles for future tune ups. James is AWESOME!!! Kim S.

The owner is a sexist, sizest jerk off. A friend went in there to buy a bike and while trying out the different bikes the owner came over and said to her«you know riding a bike is a lot different from sitting on a couch eating POTATO chips.» My friend looked him dead in his eye and told him off. He scrambled like a cockroach into the back room. Is this how you treat a customer who wants purchase something? Who wants to change their life style? Outrageous behavior from a pathetic snob. Edit: Just got a private message Michael K. saying I should«lighten up» and Budd is just«joking.» Nah Bro, it’s disrespectful, it’s not funny, he’s a rude mf’r. He shouldn’t have anything to do with the public. Of course some other entitled dude has to run to his defense playing the«it’s just a joke, lighten up» card. No it’s not just a joke. It’s an attack on someone. An attack on someones self esteem. Apparently Buddy Boy thinks he’s entitled to make judgments on people based on their gender, appearance, race, sexuality etc. I say to hell with Budd and all his ego trips and fake«jokes.»

The initial older guy that was helping me was really nice but it is the owner«Bud» that is rude. I asked him if he could knock a little off the price if I paid cash,(it is a legit question, most people will if you just ask!) and he sneered he would take off 2% and wouldn’t charge me for the kickstand. Who even needs a kickstand? Anyways he then went on to tell me that«he would just sell it tomorrow, with no 2% discount which is why it is not necessary.» Ok, you could have just said no without being a dick about it. Sports LTD was running a special at the same time where they were offering 10% off all of their bikes, so it was really wasn’t like the question was out of left field. I ended up buying the bike at North Rim, in a color I didn’t like as much just because they were so much nicer. And I love my new bike. And the free bike lock North Rim gave me. They also couldn’t change anything much for cash but were very polite about it and gave me a bike lock I needed. And hey, all I was asking for was a little generosity in some shape or form! I am spending a few car payments here!

I went into Campus Bicycles and dropped some cash. After making my purchase, saying thank you and goodbye, the owner literally«shooed» me out of the store. Aweek later, I was having car trouble and was having trouble getting up 32 headed up to Chester. Lo and Behold, Campus Bikes company truck rolled up behind me and the owner nearly ran me off the road, then laid on the horn, flipped me off, and yelled obscenities at me. Clearly the owner is always a charmer.
