The nicest best meat locker. Delicious sandwiches daily, in house smoked meats which are delicious. Tri tips marinated add compliments at your dinner party. I used their meats for our wedding reception and everyone asked where it was from! Nothing but great things to say. In store local products are also featured.

I’ve gone in there a few times for sandwiches. The food has been great every time and the prices are better than many other sandwich places. The place is pretty cramped though. Its even smaller than Nobby’s! Definitely a take your order and go kind of place.

My parents have been loyal customers to this establishment for at least 15 years. However the employees that are there now make us want to take our business elsewhere. Saturday my husband and I walked in and ordered six two inch thick rib eye steaks. Based on our appearance we were looked at up and down, told it’d be a few minutes and then heard in Hushed tones as the employee whispered to the other employee our order and them laugh. We sat at the table I akward silence as the employees completely ignored us and chatted around with every other patron in the establishment (about 4 other guest’s) for bout 15 minutes then the young lady who took my order looked directly at us and said who had the ribeyes? I played along, got up the lady behind the meat display said get the money first I’m not handing them over. The employee looked at me and said that will be 161.82 I paid to they’re utter disbelief and my husband and I walked home with our purchase.
Once again today as we speak my husband is at chico meat locker he called me to make sure of what I wanted to order. The same clerk is working and very rude when it came to making my sub, my husband told her pepper jack she started putting cheddar on it so he corrected her and she snapped you said cheddar! My husband looks the way he does not because he’s homeless or on drugs he is battling cancer
We aren’t rich no. We don’t have a vehicle no. We have to walk where we go. Quit profiling people and have some respect for good honest paying patrons. We love the product. We just don’t like the customer service.

Best sandwiches in Chico. You can run in and get meat for a bbq. They also have cuts in back that they don’t keep up front. They have bbq days and everything I’ve tried has been great and for a good price. Small seating area though so it’s best to grab your food and go.

We appreciate this option for meat in Chico… the cuts have always been great and I’m pretty sure they gave us choice of thickness on steaks! The sandwiches are good… fine selection of marinades and rubs! Oh yeah… they also package and sell the fresh bones separately for the kids to chew on while they wait for the BBQ to be ready… wait…did I mention the kids are dogs… lol?

SO GOOD. We used to come here for lunch all the time and their sandwiches are soooo delicious and fresh. This place is tiny and packed at lunch time, but the food is worth it. The people who work here are always friendly and welcoming too. Recently we’ve been getting the precooked turkeys from here for Thanksgiving or Christmas, and OMG we will never go back to making our own turkeys again! The whole family is in agreement this is the BEST turkey we’ve ever had. I wouldn’t even consider myself a lover of meat, and this stuff is so wonderful that I can just eat it by itself as a meal. YUM!

The quality of the food is excellent. But the customer service is TERRIBLE! can’t believe this place has been open for so many years. And what’s worse is that the owner the short blonde hair lady is the worst!

The sandwiches are great. I had the pastrami on crunch roll… wow. I do wish they would have put more meat on the sandwich but, still great! You have to get the Sierra Nevada pale Ale mustard. The staff was friendly and will be coming back. They also have a good selection of fresh made sausage and other meats!!!

Fantastic! The sandwiches here are really good. Great sized, and the specials are fantastic! The meat sales here are also amazing. Looking for a great place to get meat, or a fantastic lunch here is your place!

The Deweys and the Chico Locker are an institution in this town. You can go uptown for your grass fed, organic-​y grocery or you can stay here on the southside with the real eaters. We eat with grizzle coming down our beards and we don’t care. It’s that good.
Bordering Chapmantown and Park Ave means you’re sure to see some colorful neighbors nearby but this haunt has a lot of old timers and good ol’ boys and discerning housewives (or househusbands!) who want to please guests at their kitchen table.
I recommend the peppered cottage «bacon». It’s basically a thick slab of ham. And the Burgundy Tri-​Tip is renowned in our household. And the bratwursts of any variety are sure to please. Even our canines get the occasional beef femur bones for a treat.
For those with stronger stomachs: My uncle has his deer, ducks, etc processed here and it’s awesome. There’s nothing like going to the freezer and pulling out some jalapeño deer jerky or some southern style sausage.
My mother loves to rave about their hams even making it to the White House (see accolades on the wall here).
This place is a regular stop. Join the club!

too bad i cant give them more than 5 stars. because if you are talking about just their sandwiches its already 5 stars. especially the french dips on mondays. one of my friend and i take any chance we have on mondays when we have money to spend and time to get those. the sides are good too. potato salad, macaroni salad, or pesto i think. i always get the potato. then their meats they sell there are another 5 stars. the bacon there is the best and the sausages. what really takes the cake is the marinated tri tip steaks. the burgundy pepper. .. . words cannot explain the how much i love it.

Great amazing place. Fills me up really well with meat and deliciousness. For the price it’s definitely worth it.

I have been going here for @ 16 – 17 years and it has always been the same… great fresh sandwiches and super friendly staff! I have never been disappointed and will be going back for years to come.

Finally tried The Chico Meat Locker and immediately asked what took so long. Great deli sandwiches and sides. The real prize is their frozen meats, even their inexpensive cuts were tender and tasty!
Will be trying some Buffalo next time in! They have a nice selection of Sausage and game as well to wet your appetite.

I went and got a sandwich to go today and spent and absurd amount of time waiting. The staff could have been friendlier and the sandwich was really good but not the best I’ve ever had. Over all was an ok experience but probably won’t go back for a while.

Their hot beef tri tip sandwiches are absolutely amazing! With a side of potato salad, delicious! Worth the wait on Fridays

This place is pretty good. I only go for sandwiches. You can count on fresh and quality. However I feel the sandwiches are a bit thrown together and staff could be a little more friendly.

Had the Tri-​tip sandwich special it was great! Did not have a problem with rude staff even tho the place was jammed. They were very accommodating in splitting a sandwich for my wife and 3 year old. Got a couple sausages to try to. They have a large selection of sausage, salami, jerky, fresh and frozen meat, wild game, cheeses, sauces and seasonings. Will definitely be back to try more things.

Amazing sandwiches and got some meats for tomorrow’s 4^th of July BBQ.
Had the corn bed sandwich on rye… It was really good next time I’ll have to get it on sourdough roll.

Great food. Great service. These are the local professionals at the top of their game for processing live stock from hoof to food. Also wild game, no one compares to them. Killer sandwiches, meats, and warm smiling faces. Love this place.
